Republican Tennessee State Senator Stacey Campfield posted a photo of a pressure cooker with the words "Assault Pressure Cooker" listed below it on his blog, titled "Here comes Feinstein Again, "in the wake of the Boston bombing to make a point about the double standard of gun grabbers in this country. The hue and cry and lynch mob began to berate him, but he's not backing down.
According to the photo Campfield used of a pressure cooker, he labeled the "dangerous" features of the inanimate object, including a "muzzle break thingy that goes 'up'" and a "tactical pistol grip."
Additionally, Campfield referenced that the pressure cooker had a "forward carry handle" and a "folding stock," along with a "tactical latch."
The photo also lists a "large-capacity, can cook for hours without reloading" comment and that the color of it was "evil, black."
While the pressure cooker bombs were used to kill three people and injured more than 260, far surpassing the number of wounded at Sandy Hook Elementary, Campfield dismisses the criticism over alleged "insensitivity." Instead, he turned the issue around on the real culprits of insensitivity and the criminals who are seeking to undermine the law of the land.
"I think it's tasteless when Obama will drag everybody he can up to Capitol Hill and try to pass gun control," Campfield told ABCNews.com. "I think that was classless and tasteless. I don't hear them complaining about that too much."
"I was showing the hypocrisy of Diane Feinstein, the gun grabbers, of their inability to realize that it is a person that does activity, not an inanimate object, be it a gun or a pressure cooker," he said.
When inquired via phone about being "inappropriate," Campfield responded, "Really? If my post was inappropriate talking about 'crock pot control' then where is the outrage from the left when they push for gun control after the Sandy Hook shooting? Im [sic] sorry if I exposed your double standard....Well, not really."
Read some of the comments on the blog here. There are attacks, which have no basis in reality, while there are those defending the post by writing, "Nowhere in this post do I see anyone laughing over death. The post is about double standards."
Some wrote that they though the post came across as "insensitive and mean," but the point was made and that is what has liberals in a tizzy. They don't like having their own standard applied to them. Frankly, no one is making fun of those that were wounded or killed in the attacks. This is just another brilliant way to expose the hypocrisy of the gun grabbing lobby.
Campfield was not alone when it comes to pointing out the hypocrisy of the left. During the lockdown in Boston, Arkansas Republican State Representative Nate Bell tweeted out:
Bell apologized, though not for the content as much as the timing. "I don't regret the content as much as I regret the timing," Bell told The Associated Press. "I really didn't think about it going to Boston and was generally expressing my personal view of how I would have felt in that situation myself."
The reality is what I posted yesterday and that is Bostonians can be offended all they like, but the truth of the matter is that they are giving away their freedoms left and right (and yes that is to those on the left and right. Remember Mitt Romney was governor of that State and stood firm on gun control.)
Well I'm glad to see there are some statesmen still around who make their point, make it well and stick to it without succumbing to the "pressure" (pun intended) of liberals who don't like having their lack of logic exposed. They are the first to be among the intolerant while crying for tolerance, yet they offer no real world, working solutions to problems.
While many are calling for blasting both Campfield and Bell, I'll ask my readers to contact their offices and give them support as they stand against the politically correct minions. Here's their contact information:
