Standard Shotgun Could Face Ban In New Bill

While not the proposed double barreled shotgun Vice President Joe Biden encouraged women to get themselves for protection, the standard pump shotgun is now in the sights of gun control freaks in Colorado. House Bill 13-1224 is a bill that references large-capacity magazines and yet specifically targets certain shotguns that have the ability to be altered to hold more than five shotgun shells.

Senator Greg Brophy (R-Wray) said, "They’re coming after the standard shotgun," referencing House Bill 13-1224 which has already passed the House and Governor John Hickenlooper has said he will sign.

“Hundreds of thousands of pheasant hunters are probably going to be carrying around a gun they won’t be able to replace after July 1 this year,” he said.

Brophy points to a section in the bill that defines large-capacity magazines. The legislation reads:

"Large-Capacity Magazine" means a fixed or detachable magazine, box, drum, feed strip, or similar device capable of accepting, or that can be readily converted to accept more than ten rounds of ammunition or more than five shotgun shells."

As you can see in the video above, Brophy demonstrates how to increase the capacity of the standard shotgun. “This is where shotgun shells go inside this tube here,” Brophy told CBS4's Shaun Boyd, “You can screw this part off the top and screw on an extender to this tube to allow it to hold more than eight rounds. It is readily convertible, which by definition in the bill, makes the whole thing a high-capacity magazine.”

Brophy went on to state that under the 1994 federal ban, manufacturers redesigned gun barrels so that they could not be extended. He is doubtful that they would do it specifically for Colorado.

“I don’t know if anybody is going to make guns specifically for the five million people living in Colorado,” he said. “We just might not be able to legally purchase a pump shotgun or a semi-automatic shotgun.”

“The law is specific as of July 1. You can keep it, but only if you maintain continuous possession of it,” Brophy added, affirming our earlier report. “If it breaks, you can’t give to a gunsmith even to fix it. You can’t hand it to your son to use. It’s all now outlawed because of this 1224, the bill that Gov. Hickenlooper says he’s going to sign … this is most extreme thing anybody’s ever done related to firearms.”

For those Americans living in Colorado, this is your wake up call. Democrats cannot be trusted when it comes to gun control. Sadly, some Republicans can't. However, your voice needs to be heard loud and clear in the Colorado Capitol. Here's your chance. Contact your representatives here. 1. Looks like us from out of state, will have to spend our hunting money in another state! I would suggest Idaho. As they are working on a state law, that keeps state law makers from infringing on the Constitution.

  2. The libtards in Colorado (Mexifornia East) are getting the gummint they deserve. When they grow a backbone and decide to do something about, they can rely on help from the rest of America, but, as it stands now, they, like Californication, don't deserve help if they sit by and let this travesty happen. When are people going to realize that this is part of a well planned and well funded attempt by the lackies of the NWO to disarm the American public--as necessary first step in the NWO establishment of a One World Gummint, not to mention a global currency to replace the US Dollar. They can do neither until the disarm the citizenry.

  3. These motherfu*kers are begging for it.

  4. But Joe said........ Our rights are being whittled down one at a time. Dictator Obama will have his way after this 4 year term and it makes one wonder if there will ever be another election!!

  5. Douglas W. Rodrigues says:

My recommendation is for all gun owners to simply disregard all gun laws invented by the gun-grabber politicians. What are they going to do....arrest hundreds of thousands of citizens in Colorado? That would start a shooting revolt.
