Pamela Geller of AtlasShrugs.com and the American Freedom Defense Initiative has been a participant at Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) for the past four years. At the events she has brought in people who discuss the influence of Islam on America, including the likes of Geert Wilders, Allen West, Wafa Sultan, Simon Deng, Anders Gravers, and Steve Coughlin. However, this year, the American Conservative Union (ACU) will make no room for Geller or her message.
Geller issued the following statement today:
I won't be at CPAC this year. Every year AFDI organizes a must-see event addressing issues the Grover Norquist/Suhail Khan cabal refuse to address (jihad, sharia, the war on freedom in the West).
This year, I applied to speak and was ignored. I tried to get a room for an AFDI event, "The War on Free Speech" and was ignored. So, for the first time in five years, I won't be at CPAC. Last year Suhail Khan bragged out loud that he (and his other operatives) had successfully kept Robert Spencer and me from being invited to speak. He went so far as to warn people not to attend our events or read our books.
In several articles I took on Grover Norquist and his powerful influence over CPAC, most notably here and here. As soon as I published my Newsmax column concerning his perfidious influence at CPAC, my Newsmax column was taken down and my name and picture were removed from the Newsmax page..... it was two slots away from Grover's. My weekly column never appeared at Newsmax again. It was axed.
Now this. I might add, every AFDI event at CPAC was standing room only. We turned people away every year.
Geller then referenced an article on the issue at Breitbart.com. In that article, Geller gave a statement concerning the intention of her advertisements that countered the #Myjihad ad campaign, which was recently upheld in a court battle.
One commenter stated what he believed to be the real reason behind the shunning of Geller by CPAC. Golem Bar wrote:
"I know why the article doesn't mention it, probably because they don't want to get into hot water with CPAC and be blacklisted but i'll state it for them. Grover Norquist is a Muslim, and not just a regular agnostic apathetic Muslim but a concerted political Islamist who is actively working with Muslim Brotherhood front groups to advance political Islam in America. He married a Palestinian Samah Alrayyes -- who was director of communications for his Islamic Free Market Institute, which he founded in order to advance sharia law in Western economies, along with Abdurrahman Alamoudi a self-described “supporter of Hamas and Hezbollah” who is now in jail with a 23 year sentence for financing terrorism. He pushed the Bush Administration to meet with and hire various radical Muslims with ties to terrorism and the Muslim Brotherhood after 9/11, some of them who were later jailed for supporting and funding terrorism, and Pamela Geller has been at the forefront of raising this issue, hence Norquist and his Islamist allies trying to silence her."
That doesn't change my opinion on the pledges that were abandoned by Republicans this year through Norquist's organization because those promises were made to the American people. However, one does have to question what is taking place behind the scenes and I think Golem Bar might just have hit the nail on the head.
