Following the smackdown that took place last week between Piers Morgan and Alex Jones, Morgan had a panel of liberals on his program to talk about more gun control. One of his guests, The Daily Beast columnist Buzz Bissinger called for Morgan to challenge Jones to a boxing match and bring a semi-automatic gun and "pop" Jones. There is no question that what Bissenger put forth was a clear threat. On top of that, guest Abby Huntsman laughed at his comment and said "I’d love to see that, in uniform!” Morgan then said he could get his father's uniform.
Pick up around the 7:20 mark for the statement:
Calls are now being made to demand that Piers Morgan be fired after not only allowing such a comment, but encouraging it.
William Gheen, president of ALIPAC (Americans for Legal Immigration PAC), said that the segment was one of the worst that he had seen in his entire career.
“Monitoring the media is something I have done professionally for two decades now, and in that entire time I have never seen anything as outrageous as the Piers Morgan segment joking about killing one of their guests with an ‘assault rifle’,” Gheen said.
He encourages people who believe, not only in the Second Amendment, but who still believe that threats are to be taken seriously to call CNN and let them know what you think. "Please call CNN to demand that Piers Morgan be fired for advocating political murder with assault rifles on last night’s show. Free speech is one thing, but we cannot allow the liberal media to take things this far against those that oppose amnesty or support gun rights etc.. Call 404.827.1500 and wait for a human operator."
Piers Morgan dismissed gun-rights advocate John Lott by scoffing at him. He dismissed gun-rights advocate Larry Pratt by insulting him and he dismissed gun-rights advocate Alex Jones by saying nothing. Finally he struggled to actually find a strategy to even engage Breitbart.com's editor-in-chief Ben Shapiro.
No one on the guest panel was outraged at Bissinger's comments. They all laughed, including liberal attorney Gloria Allred.
We have seen the open calls for murder of the President of the National Rifle Association and its members. We have seen the vitriol and condescension of the Left against gun owners and those who want to exercise their right to keep and bear arms. Now comes an open, nationally televised threat against an American and even an attorney doesn't say, "You really should watch what you say." The Left my friends don't care.
They claim to not want guns. They claim that no one needs guns, but then they tell you openly just what they want to do with their opposition: Shoot them dead. Those aren't just words. Words come from the heart, as Jesus said. This is exactly why we cannot let these people call the shots when it comes to the Second Amendment.
With that said, I have received back and forth emails from a reader who claims that things I write here are inciting people to assassinate Barack Obama. I have never written such a thing, nor would I encourage it. I am not a revolutionary. I believe that we take up our arms in defense. That is how the founders did it. That is how my forefathers did it. That is how the Scriptures would call me to do it. I am not one that believes in a pre-emptive strike, which is why I speak out against it on the world stage.
I believe it is high time that Piers Morgan pack his bags, since he doesn't like it here in America, and head his limey behind back across the pond. After all he certainly promotes Great Britain as a Utopia. Why wouldn't he want to live there? Perhaps, if we aren't going to deport the man, CNN should fire him.
