Romans 8:31 (KJV)
“What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?”
In these days of trying times when Christians are being attacked from every side, we must always remember that God has everything in HIS control. I felt the need to share with you a story of faith, proving once again that Jesus is very much alive. He not only rose, but he LIVES, and will protect us if we call on his name.
A masked armed robber got more than he bargained for when he entered into Jackie Hagler’s home in Lake City, Florida intending to rob her and her friends at gun point. The 15 women ordered him out of the home through the power of Jesus’ name and lo and behold he ran out as fast as he could.
Lake City, FL A masked gunman who attempted to rob a group of women inside a Lake City home Friday night may have got more than he bargained for.
Lake City police say Derek Lee, 24, entered a house on Lakeview Avenue where the homeowner had 14 women over for a jewelry party. Police say Lee was wearing a dark ski cap on his head along with a bandana across his face. He allegedly showed a gun and ordered the women to hand over their money and phones.
One woman who thought it was a party gag pushed his hand aside while laughing saying, “It’s only a water gun.” Police say Lee (pictured, right) held the gun to that woman’s head and said, “I’m not joking, I’m going to shoot someone, give me your money.”
Jacquie Hagler, who owns the house, says she then put her faith into action.
“When I realized what was going on, I stood up and said, ‘In the name of Jesus, get out of my house now.’ And he said, ‘I’m going to shoot someone.’ And I said it again, real boldly,” Hagler said. “Everybody started chanting, ‘Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,’ and he did a quick scan of the room, and ran out the door as fast as he could go.”
Can you imagine the unbelievable fear that surged through this career criminals mind? As I am sure he was used to dealing with violence because he is a previous offender according to the full article, he apparently had never seen or felt the power of Jesus Name like he did this day. Maybe this will be what shines the light on this young man making him a believer.
Lee was picked out of a lineup by several of the ladies from the party, police say. He is also being investigated for attempted robbery at a nearby ATM, which happened just prior to the home invasion.
He was held on $200,000 bond in the Columbia County Detention Center.
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.” –Ephesians 6:12-16 (KJV)
