Petitions To White House: Grant TX & LA Peaceful Withdraw From US

It's quite amazing actually, but not surprising what is taking place post re-election of Barack Hussein Obama. Remember, as I write this, that Obama comes from the same state as Abraham Lincoln and that just as Lincoln oversaw a divided nation, Barack Obama is also making it that way. Lincoln oversaw our nation's War of Northern Aggression or for those who grew up in public school education, the Civil War. Now it seems that the same mindset is beginning in our country again with petitions submitted to the White House petitions site.

First there was a petition to "Peacefully grant the State of Louisiana to withdraw from the United States of America and create its own NEW government." The petition was created November 7 and already has 3,521 signatures. It needs 25,000 by December 7 of this year in order to garner a response from Barack Obama.

The petition was clear and to the point:

"When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation."

"...Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, that whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or abolish it, and institute new Government..."

Lest you think this petition is isolated. A petition was begun on Friday for Texas to peacefully withdraw from the United States of America and create its own new government. The petition reads:

The US continues to suffer economic difficulties stemming from the federal government's neglect to reform domestic and foreign spending. The citizens of the US suffer from blatant abuses of their rights such as the NDAA, the TSA, etc. Given that the state of Texas maintains a balanced budget and is the 15th largest economy in the world, it is practically feasible for Texas to withdraw from the union, and to do so would protect it's citizens' standard of living and re-secure their rights and liberties in accordance with the original ideas and beliefs of our founding fathers which are no longer being reflected by the federal government.

I must admit I'm very uneasy about the current administration. I'm uneasy about the ideology of the current occupant of the White House. I'm uneasy about the massive increase in taxes coming and the failure of Congress to stand up and demand the Constitution be upheld, wasteful spending be stopped, undeclared foreign wars cease, and government "charity be abandoned. I'm uneasy about the power grabs that are taking place along with the complete ignoring of the Constitution. What are we to expect except that Americans will become angry and say they have had enough? Well, it looks like that time is quickly approaching.

    Texas, as an independent Republic, retained the right to secede when it joined the United States. No other state has that status & thus no other states can legally secede, regardless of how many petitions, etc are sent to Washington. I doubt that any state (even Texas) has a balanced & broad enough economy to succeed as an independent nation on its own, without the influx of Federal funding in highway funds, Medicaid funds, etc. In addition, how many states are prepared to open their coffers to support the elderly & disabled who depend on Social Security or SSI, or those receiving money from numerous other Federal programs. It's easy to make a symbolic gesture, like getting signatures on a petition, but the devil---as they say---is in the details.

    If Texas leaves the Untied States, the Mexicans will swarm all over it and there will be another Texas-Mexico war. I do not see the United States breaking apart, however. This would be exactly what Obama wants. People have to wake up to the fact that Obama hates the United States and does not support anything that is in its best interests.
