Obama Issues Executive Order Against Wind Farm Acquisition By Chinese

wind-turbine-2Barack Obama issued an Executive Order on September 28 that sought to block the acquisition of four American wind farm project companies by China owned Ralls Corporation. As a result of the EO, Chinese state news agency Xinhua reported on Wednesday that Ralls Corporation is suing President Barack Obama.

Turkish Weekly reports,

In an amended lawsuit filed on Monday in the U.S. District Court in Washington, Ralls claims Obama exceeded his constitutional rights and acted in “an unlawful and unauthorized manner.”

Obama issued an executive order on Friday compelling Ralls Corp, a Delaware-incorporated company owned by executives from the China-based construction equipment company Sany Group, to divest all of its interests in the planned wind farms near the Naval Weapons Systems Training Facility in Boardman, Oregon.

There is “credible evidence” that the Sany Group and Ralls “might take action that threatens to impair the national security of the United States,” Obama said in the order.

Ralls said Obama had not provided “any evidence or reasoned explanation” for his decision to use a national defense law in prohibiting the acquisition and ordering the company to divest the four wind farms.

A U.S. Navy training facility is within a five-mile radius of the airspace of the planned four wind farms. This presents a national security threat as the facility is used to conduct bombing and missile exercises, along with electronic combat training and the development and testing of drone technology.

The Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) had previously blocked development of the wind farm project until it had conducted its investigation and delivered them to Obama. The result is the EO issued.

U.S. Treasury Department spokeswoman Natalie Wyeth Earnest said the Chinese company’s litigation was an exercise in futility since “the President’s actions are not subject to judicial review.”

Obama is messing around in just about everything. However, the Chinese will settle the matter with a nice fat campaign donation

    Like Hell he’s not “subject”.

Finally something I can agree with Owebama on. Finally. Only took four years.

    • BigUgly666

So, it’s o,k. for Obama to breach LAW this time because you happen to agree with him?

  • Whizz

Sad but Chinese money built the farm.Chinese money will fight this lawsuit if it goes to trial.Do you see anything wrong here. Why does the great America that our forefathers built need to borrow money from a communist country or any country for that matter.I know the answer to that question, I wonder how many of you know the answer?

Because we didn’t listen to Washinton’s Farewell Address about debt, foreign wars, sticking our nose where it doesn’t belong and welfare.

  • Jeff Brodhead

Since WHEN did unconstitutional, or unlawful mean crap to O’Dingo?

Maybe it is right to block China from owning our energy supply system (which wind power is a farce anyway) and to keep the Chinese away from military installations, but BS-Barry is approaching 1,000 “executive orders” in his less than four years of occupation of the White OUT House. OBAMA IS NOT DICTATOR, NOR POTUS and it’s time for America to dump that Pompous POTUS!

Jeff, look I don’t like executive orders either, by either Bush, Clinton, Obama or anyone, but the number you gave is incredibly exaggerated. Obama has only put forth 135 EOs. That’s more than he should have, but still, let’s be honest about what he did. GW Bush put through more than double that in his two terms. Here’s the National Archive on the EO’s: http://www.archives.gov/federal-register/executive-orders/obama.html

    • Jeff Brodhead

Tim, thank you for the correction and for the link.

On top of that, this is a national security issue, seeing that Chinese businesses are directly tied to Red China. It was a good call I think in this situation.

Been pointed out already. Thanks. :)

I think the $5 Trillion ($142 MILLION PER HOUR), spent WITHOUT A BUDGET, should have been a massive opposition issue in the campaign. If we take the $16 Trillion (of which Obama promised to reduce $10T by half and, thereby must have been fulfilled), which converts to over $900K per hour, since Christ walk the Earth.

OBAdMAn has taken a near-impossible debt and grown it to incredible proportions! We have NOTHING TO SHOW FOR THE GROWTH IN DEBT – except more people dependent on government and millions more innocents slaughtered on the alters of BAAL (Planned Infanticide) and tens of thousands more maimed and dead Veterans and an ever-deepening division of America.

OUR Constitution of the United States of America states its purpose as “in order to form a more perfect Union” and BS-Barry is the antithesis of that purpose – PROVED IN EVERYTHING HE DOES!.

Now, this is one EO I can concur with. The chinese have no business owning, partially or wholly, anywhere near a US government facility; ESPECIALLY a military installation. In fact, they shouldn’t own, partially or wholly, anything in the US.

  • davienne

holy crap!!! obama violated the constitution… un-fricken-believable… [sarcasm]

  • XX

Obama got this one right. No foreign nation should have ownership of ANY facility that directly affects the ability of US citizens to live their daily lives, create businesses and participate in national defense.. And certainly control of power plants top the list for all three.
Kind of begs the question also, WHY does China want the plants? She has a huge population of her own, why not bring electricity to her own people in her own country, if she wants to get into the generation game/ From the looks of pollution in Beijing they could certainly use a few wind farms over there. The whole deal is very suspicious. I feel like America in her weakened state is being cut up like a pie.

he will change his mind if re-elected

  • oldcoyote

Good for him. It’s about time he done something right. We don’t need to let China or any other country into our infastructure.

  • ZagoZana

YUP! ROBME WOULD HAVE LAID OUT THE “RED” CAPET FOR THEM, don’cha know…

    • Nadine

BO LOVES THE CHINESE..WHO DO YOU THINK IS BUILDING ALL THE GM CARS! 70% in China! NOT America!

    • salem

You watch too many Obama commercials

  • noelle2011

good!!!!!!! the chinese DO NOT need to be buying up more and more businesses!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ITS ABOUT TIME SOME PRESIDENT STOPPED THIS CRAP!

    • pysco

Hypocritical, Obama used stimilus money to purchase Wind Turbines, for a wind far in Texas. Personally I don’t think we as a nation should be purchasing anything from any foriegn country, that we can make in America.

    • Rosie46

Nor should they be allowed to be building our infrastructure projects with Chinese workers and Chinese materials (new SF/Oakland bridge, project in Houston and one in Alaska), totaling in the billions of dollars. What about buy American, contract American and put American workers to work. This was reported by Diane Sawyer.

    • BigUgly666

Neither the “President” nor the Usurper Obama have the authority.
