What is the Conservative Christian To Do In The 2012 Presidential Election?

There are three possible options that result in only two certain outcomes.

First option and outcome: Vote for and re-elect the Hope and Change candidate that supposedly cares about the poor and uses the words of the Bible as his justification for massively increasing spending on social welfare programs. If Christians turn out and vote for President Obama then he will be re-elected.

Second option and outcome: Vote for the rich, capitalist, candidate that promises to return America to its original foundations to a less centralized government with more personal freedoms. This candidate’s religion even denies the Orthodox Christian view of the Trinity. Mormonism even espouses that Satan and Jesus are spirit brothers and that God had physical relations with Mary. If Christians turn out and vote en masse for Governor Romney despite his religion, then he will be elected.

Third option and outcome: Christians abstain from voting because each candidate is unworthy; Obama wants gay marriage and Romney’s religion denies that Jesus is Lord above all. In good conscience Christians stay home from the polls. That results again in the first outcome.

Reflecting on the first option: If anyone thinks that President Obama is a Christian then let the record speak for itself. This is a man who for 20 years sat under the hate-filled preaching a Rev Jeremiah Wright, a Black Liberation Theology hate monger. I wonder if Rev Wright ever preached on “Loving God and Loving your neighbor as yourself” which Jesus said is the Greatest Commandment (Matthew 22)? Radio talk show host and former political candidate Alan Keyes, even offered further evidence in 2004 that then Senate Candidate Obama was not a Christian. Keyes said that even “Jesus Christ would not vote for Obama” due to his far left views on abortion and infanticide while serving in the Illinois State Senate.

President Obama recently showed more of his so-called “Christian” faith in by claiming to have compassion on same sex individuals who want to have the same rights of marriage that heterosexuals have enjoyed from the beginning of civilization. The President even cited the Golden Rule in his decision. We must be reminded however that even Satan quoted scripture when he tempted Jesus (Matthew 4). Similarly, the President quoted scripture to justify his position. Unfortunately his position is inconsistent with the whole counsel of Holy Writ. This misreading of the Bible is what the Great Reformer, Martin Luther, warned when he said that “Scripture does not have a wax nose" and is not to be twisted into anything we want it to say. Seems this was just a bone to the Gay Rights crowd so they would continue to donate to the President's re-election effort.

President Obama has led from behind on this economic recovery and led from the front increasing this catastrophic debt burden he has imposed upon our children and grandchildren. Unfortunately these massive tax increases will choke the growth of this economy and our power as a world leader will consequently diminish. When he promised to change this country, he meant what he said. In my view, the President is actually a statist. His god is actually the all-powerful government bent on subjugating a free people under his rule.

Reflecting on the second option: So what would a Mormon presidency look like? There are sixteen Mormons serving in the US Congress. Mormons are known for their abstentions from alcohol, tobacco, caffeine. I served in the military with many Mormons and they were some of the finest officers dedicated to the defense of America that I ever served with. Other Mormon friends I have are some of the hardest working and most patriotic people I know. Devout Mormons are law abiding citizens of very higher moral standards and committed to their families. Governor Romney and his family could be characterized in this way.

Would Mormon theology or a Mormon President be counter to the preservation of our Great Republic? First, we must understand that Mormon theology is a “works based” religion. I think we could infer that good works accomplished by any group (feeding the hungry, blood drives, coats for kids, etc…) are beneficial to our society as a whole. The disagreement is in the motivation for doing good works. The theological discussion with Mormons or other religions is whether good works can justify our standing on Judgment Day before God Almighty. What is not in dispute is the “good” in the term good works.

Second, would Governor Romney be the mouthpiece of the Mormon Church or a good President of all the people? As President, Romney promised to pursue a conservative, pro-growth economic agenda. His number one economic priority would be to grow the economy — helping to create good jobs, raise incomes and preserve American strength. Just as President Kennedy was the first Catholic president and did not act as the American Pope, there is no reason to think that a Romney Presidency would rule from Salt Lake City.

Reflecting on the third option: Christians staying home from the polls or voting for a third party candidate keeps the status quo in place with Harry Reid running the Senate and conservatives being demonized in the House for wanting to reign in the debt. Worse than that, if we don’t overturn the Affordable Care Act we become complicit in furthering the continued slaughter of the unborn under the ruse of “Women’s Health Coverage.” This government’s intervention, never seen before in the history of this Great Republic, mandating that faith based organizations participate in this slaughter is unconscionable. Think of it this way, we have a modern King Herod in office that is determined to slaughter the unborn and whose ultimate goal is power, total power. (Historical note-around the time of Jesus birth King Herod ordered the slaughter of boys two years old and under in Israel to try to kill Jesus.)

What is a Conservative Christian supposed to do? Christians should be all about sharing the message of God’s love through Jesus Christ. We are also called in the New Testament to be good citizens. Therein lays the dilemma, because the world of politics is a human endeavor run by sinners, of which I am one. Christians also understand the reality of the evil that exists around us. Jesus called us to be “Salt and Light” to a dark and lost world. Therefore I should do everything in my power to advance the kingdom of Christ and counter evil. Therefore I have to vote and I have to vote against the current President’s policies.

In light of the recent attacks on our embassies in the Middle East and North Africa, it seems that the current President is more content with appeasing the Muslim Brotherhood than standing strong against the regimes that want to do us harm. Just as I am justified in killing an intruder that comes into my house and seeks to do my family harm, our country is also justified in defending itself against militant Islam that is hostile to our values and the freedoms we enjoy in the West. Justification for Christians to take up arms can be found in what is called Just War Theory.

If Christians cannot vote in good conscience for the Romney/Ryan ticket due to the Mormon connection, please consider stopping the modern King Herod by voting against President Obama. That would be the "R" selection on the ballot.

What is your point..????? What choice is there... At this point, I would vote
for a Damned Orangutan..... Obama is just about useless... with the exception of
    the damage he has caused.............

Two cultists are betterhan one muslim. At least they pray in Jesus name.
I know for a fact they do, Mea Culpa.

You Say don't vote? You got to be kidding me. Yea just walk into the lions lay down and let Obama get in. How stupid to even contemplate such a plan. God Knows our hearts as Christians we must understand voting for an honest man is not going to deny your faith. Vote Obama out then worry about doctrine. Our job is to spread the Gospel and with Obama in again that will be a big problem.

  • LatterDayEsther

Better a Mormon than a Muslim. It would be impossible to believe in the God of the Bible and vote for Obama who applauds the killing of our children at any stage from conception to live birth, applauds the marriage of 2 men or 2 women or a woman and a donkey or a man and a sheep, which the God of the Bible says are abominations worthy of death. If we have a prayer for putting God back into our nation and redeeming the works of our founding fathers, we must put aside our feelings and vote for Romney - the only clear choice. And you nailed it, anyone who stays home votes for Obama. My heart is so sick about what has already happened to my beloved country for whom I joined the US Navy at 19 during the Vietnam 'conflict'. I want my country back so I have something worth fighting for again!

    • mallen11

    • GrumpyOldMan

If you are a disabled vet, and I am as well, do you believe that your oath expired when you left the military? I don't. And if you honor your oath, you cannot vote for either one of these two. Check out Oath Keepers for why. http://www.oathkeepers.org Also note that neither of these two halfwits ever served in the military, but both think they are qualified to be CIC? I don't think so. Then add to that neither a Muslim nor a Morman are Christians. Both are cults.

    • Luther

First off, thank you for your service for our country! You are right, both Mormons and Muslims are not Christian. But staying home may be a vote for Obama! I think this act of omission will help perpetuate the rapid demise of this country w/ Obama's puppet masters in control

    • warriorsmom

The full name of the Mormon churce is The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints. What part of that doesn't sound "Christian" to you? Gov. Romney is a extraordinary example of a Christian man, a Christian husband and a Christian father. The Bible says, "judge not, lest ye be judged." Given that he has donated his time, talent and millions of dollars, to helping others, I'd say he's done a pretty good job of emulating the life of Christ. There certainly were lots of people who were willing to tell their stories about what he had done for them at the recent RNC convention. There are plenty of businesses that are "in business" today because of his expertise. It sounds pretty foolish to call someone a "halfwit" who kept the 2002 Olympics from failing.

    • Lisa K

Romney has DEMONSTRATED in his life good moral integrity, Christian love & giving of his time & money to help others. Were you doubters even LISTENING to the MANY people who stepped up to tell their PERSONAL LIFE EXPERIENCES with this man, who has loved & stayed faithful to ONE WOMAN, who has VERY responsibly raised 5 sons-did you check out the kind of quality sons, wife, other family members? Have you even been listening as Glenn Beck did a whole expose, with interviews of people stepping again to testify of Romney's integrity? Beck apologized for being critical of Romney before REALLY checking him out & said, "He is a far better man than I!" Fellow Christians, our faith & rights to worship, live our lives as we choose, is BEING THREATENED by the Muslim connected socialist in the WHouse wanting to downgrade this free society to a 3rd world country, take & shift our nation's wealth to other countries, and have TOTAL centralized government control-SOCIALISM! Is THAT what YOU want? Be PRO-ACTIVE in defending what free society we have left, ELECT this VERY moral man who's PROVEN his whole life to be a God centered man of integrity, who's PROVEN he can take failed businesses & turn them around to success- WE NEED what he's proven he can do NOW! Go see the movie "2016"-if Obama wins, it will be our realty,or CHILDREN'S REALITY. Some being bigoted & petty & get THE REAL THREAT out of the WHouse! And if you've been paying attention with the Muslim violence, killings & Obama's apology & FAKE blaming of some idiotic movie trailer as the cause, when he was WARNED yet didn't protect our ambassador/embassies (his first & FOREMOST JOB - to PROTECT AMERICAN CITIZENS!), then you KNOW we MUST REPLACE HIM! Wise UP for ALL of our sakes! This is an election like NO other, protect Christianity & Freedom in the USA!

“If religious Americans work together in the name of our mutually shared moral concerns, we just might succeed in re-establishing the civic moral standards that our forefathers thought were guaranteed by the [United States] Constitution. . . .
“. . . All of our nation’s religious citizens need to develop a respect for other religious people and their beliefs. We need not accept their beliefs, but we can respect the people and realize that we have more in common with each other than we ever will with the secularizers of this country. It is time for all religiously committed citizens to unite against our common enemy.”
(Tim LaHaye, The Race for the 21st Century (1986), p. 109)

  • Lorimae

This all sounds like a remash of when Kennedy ran and everyone was concerned about the fact that he was Catholic, and now it is Mormonism, I am a Christian and all I have to say is just sit down and consider what this pres has done for you...for me?..... he has done nothing but bring racial divide, class divide, no info on his background, 17 some vacations for his wife and not to mention all his vacations under the assumption of working, unrest both here and abroad and all you people are concerned about is the fact that Romney is a Morman !!!! Give me a break, vote for the man who has the background to get us out of this mess and it sure as hell isn't Obama..

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Nick-Johnston/100000237633907 Nick Johnston

      I agree!

    • http://FrontPorchPolitics.com/ Tim Brown

and yet today, compare Kennedy's time to today and ask yourself how many people believe RC is Christian and not apostate. Further, how many protestants are on the Supreme Court and how many RCs? There was an impact and there would be one from a Mormon as well.

    • Wingedgodd3ss

Maybe with some RC we could finally rid our country of Planned Parenthood since their agenda is genocide....

    • http://twitter.com/bubblesofjoy15 Sandy Riffle

You must remember Pres. Kennedy made it very clear to the press that he would not let the pope interfere with his governing as POTUS. In one of his speeches exposed the secret societies; and more than likely this is why his life was shortened before his first term was up. If Mitt Romney is a devout Mormon as all research indicates, he's taken an oath to be loyal first to the Mormon Church's kingdom of god.. can anyone correct me if it's not true. Read the THE GOD MAKERS and you will be shocked...

    • Lorimae

Well than your option is to vote for a man who will destroy what is left of our American Ideals. or you can vote for a third party candidate who is all actuality is a vote for Obama.....Your choice.........

    • warriorsmom

Thank you, too, Lorimae! Apparently, these people do not realize just how BAD things really are. The real unemployment that is over 20%, the sky-rocketing national debt that will rob our children and grandchildren of their American dream, the robbing of Medicare to the tune of $716 billion dollars, that will REALLY end benefits, unless Obamacare is repealed, the sequestration of military funds that will destroy our military might, the Muslim world that vows to kill Americans and rule the world....."There are none so blind as those who will not see!" They will cut their nose off to spite their face....and our country be damned!

    • alio

Lorimae and warriorsmom: You two said that well. I won't add anything to distract from your excellent choice of words to explain the foolishness of voting 3rd party or obama. Yup, I want to keep my nose.

    • http://www.facebook.com/gene.r.swank Gene R Swank

As a Christian have you not taken an oath to follow and obey Gods word? The Main stream Mormons are not evil as Obumer is!!!!!!!!

    • warriorsmom

Thank you, Gene. It is refreshing to hear rational thought!

    • David Spencer

First off, The God Makers is NOT a good source of information on the Mormons. It is full of false information and lies. It was written by some people who got their feelings hurt with the church and set out to discredit it. If you want to buy a Ford do you go to a Honda dealer? If you want to know about Mormons go to them and ask them. Romney has business background and has integrity that Obama has none of.

    • Southerngirl

Sandy. You need to read somewhere else about the Mormon religion. Because the person that wrote that crap you put a link to has to be someone that has ties to Obama. Because putting Anti-Christ & Mormonism even in the same sentence is very close to blasphemy. Mitt Romney is a Mormon. That's his religious preference. But he is a devout Christian.

I'm a Baptist. But I'm also a devout Christian. I believe him when he says he's a Christian. I have NO reason to believe he isn't. And no-one has a reason not to believe any other person that say's the same about themselves. Only GOD knows what's in your heart. I have researched the Mormon religion & I do know it has nothing to do with Anti-Christ.

As for Obama. There's NO doubt he's NOT a Christian. And we all know that because he has come right out & said that he HATES Christianity & Bible thumping, god-toting Christians. He also "DENOUNCED" GOD at the DNC convention not once, not twice, but THREE times. Then his "AIDES" were the ones to tell him he needed to put GOD back on the platform. When he did almost EVERY SINGLE DEMOCRAT in the audience booed. It was sickening.

So Sandy; you can do what you feel is right for you come Nov. 5th. As for me. I'm NOT voting for someone that has ties to George Soros & the Muslim Brotherhood. I'm a Christian & I am DEFINITELY voting for another Christian. I'm a Baptist & Romney is a Morman; but both of us serve the same GOD. Obama doesn't serve OUR GOD. His people are the Muslims. And he's made that very plain.

"A VOTE FOR OBAMA IS A VOTE AGAINST OUR COUNTRY"

    • Luther

If Romney gets in, we will be able to share the Gospel in different ways not utilized very much at this time. The history of the LDS church and it's false teaching will become more apparent to Mormons, Christians, and others. An interesting piece of their history is depicted in the movie September Dawn, where Brigham Young allowed the slaughter of about 130 men, women, and children on a wagon train going west! Oh, there is more, and many LDS do not know the history of their church. Let's vote for Romney and start talking about this peculiar group. We have nothing to fear, (Phil 4:13)God is sovereign!
But, when we do, do it in love. By the way, Joseph Smith said all other beliefs were an abomination to God. We are not attacking the false LDS faith, as much as we are defending the truth. Sure the LDS church has a goal of theocracy, as do the Muslims. You can pick your poison, but I think the Mormon way will be more fun!

    • GrumpyOldMan

Go on YouTube and do a search on Mormon and see what this religion is, because you obviously do not know. There is a posting on there from a man who was once a decon in the Mormon Church. He makes a lot of common sense observations. We are not talking differences of Christian faith as was the case with Kennedy. I hate to say it, but I was there for all that and this is very different.
Do some research for a change instead of just listening to the lame street media.

    • David Spencer

Vote for the person who will help America not flush it further down the toilets. Obama said - its on YouTube - while he was a Senator that he was Muslim. Why is he always protecting them and not our American people? He has their concern at mind NOT Americas'. This is about America! Save America vote Romney.

    • GrumpyOldMan

You are right about everything but who to vote for. Romney will still flush America if for no other reason than he has the same puppet master OBozo does. And that puppet master won't let Romney win anyway. We saw this movie four years ago with McLame. It's really doesn't matter if you vote Romney or Obama. It's who counts the votes. I'd rather vote 3rd party and throw a monkey wrench in the works. Voting the Liberty Party should do it. And that candidate is more qualified than the other two anyway. At least he served in the Military, is Christian (Lutheran) rather than Muslim or faux Christian, and as Governor "inherited" a billion dollar deficit, was reelected, and left the state with a billion dollar surplus. Romney did just about the opposite.

    • alio

Oldman, you are really a hard headed fool. I truly feel sorry for you to have such lack of understanding. We'd not voting for a GOD, we're voting for a
President of the United States and I don't want a Muslim who kills babies. You name any ruler during Christ's time who was a Christian? But yet, He says to honor your leaders. That means Morman too.

    • Lorimae

I dont listen to lame street media....excuse me!! I am not a lame brain I do my research and I resent your accusations , you have your opinion and I have mine and if you don't like mine than just move on

    • Wayne Lunkwitz

The #1 reason to vote Romney : Bible burning is OK but Koran burning will not be tolerated.

And it sure as Hell is real won't be Romney.

    • marianne72343

Just because Romney is a Mormon does not mean he is going to push his religion on everyone. I don't think he would do that. He believes in freedom of religion. Now on the other hand, Obama was constantly trying to make us believe Islam is great. How could he claim to be a Christian and dis the Holy Bible like he does, then praise Islam? Islam is not a religion, it is a hate filled ideology...a cult.

  • jtn

This whole article also begs the question: "Can a good Christian vote for a Protestant?"

Mitt Romney produces profits and Barak Obama produces debts.

Romney earned his wealth by building businesses. Obama has taken our money and created debt of
almost $5 trillion in four years.

At Bain Capital, Romney created tens of thousands of jobs in
    diverse businesses. He envisioned what
each company should be, marshaled the assets in money and people, made the
companies work and, courageously shut down those that couldn’t.

Romney made the 2002 Winter Olympics successful, efficiently
run and without scandal. His record
attracted sponsors and he turned $100 million in debt into a $167 million
    surplus.

Romney, as Governor of Massachusetts, worked with an 85%
Democrat state legislature, line item vetoed 800 times, reduced unemployment
    from 5.6% to 4.5%, eliminated a $3 billion deficit, and created a $2 billion
    “rainy day fund.”

Romney generosity managed the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics for
$1 per year and took no salary as Governor of Massachusetts.

Romney is a Mormon who actively lives his faith with no
taint of immorality. He has given tens
of millions to his church and tithes regularly.

Romney is a successful, knowledgeable, accomplished, capable
    and moral human being.

If Romney applied his skills to the Federal government, he
would envision what each agency should do, cut out the fat and inefficiencies,
reduce spending, and make them operate effectively. His presence in the Oval Office would give
substantial encouragement to businesses of all sizes to unleash the money they
have been hording and create jobs.

Romney is going to lose, just like McLame did four years ago. But, will he lose to OBama, or will enough people get some backbone, do some research, and vote for a more qualified 3rd Party candidate? If you put your party ahead of your country, nothing will change other than the speed of our demise.

    • voterid

Good for you...both faiths call themselves Christians..I found this online Regarding The Morman belief of Jesus:
"Jesus is the eldest of Heavenly Father's spirit children. He is the Son of God, the Lord of all and the Savior of all who believe in Him and truly repent, or turn from, their sins."
I really don't see much difference.

    • PMMcD

The the only difference I see is the Scriptures say "Jesus Christ is the ONLY begotten Son of the Father." (John 1:18 John 3:16, John 3:18, 1John 4:9).
Quite a big difference I'd say.
But I totally agree with this article. Romney is the best choice for America. We don't vote for a candidates religion, but his policies. As a Protestant Christian, I will vote for Romney. We cannot afford 4 more years of Obama.

What is the conservative Christian to do in the election? The conservative Christian only needs to keep doing what he or she always does, and that is to continue walking with Jesus Christ, close at His side, step at a time. I never voted for Obama in the first place. "America" had not spoken.

    'IN GOD WE TRUST'.

    • http://www.facebook.com/elly.faden Elly Faden

America voted Obama in as President. The Conservative Christian, Jew, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, or Atheist has nothing to do with one's political views. In the U.S., our founding fathers established that government and religion are separate.

    • 1GeneralHuskerTaz1

WITHOUT CHRISTIAN RELIGION AS OUR GUIDE AMERICA WOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN BORN. YOU ARE A DENIER OF THE FACTS . HOW ONE LOOKS AT THE WORLD IS OR SHOULD BE SHAPED BY THE RELIGION OF A HIGHER BEING OR ENITY AND NOT BASED ON ONES SELFISH VIEW OF THEMSELVES. THAT IS WHO ELECTED OBAMA. THAT IS WHO ELECTED OBAMA NOT THE RELIGIOUS SILENT MAJORITY. WE WILL BE SILENT NO MORE.WE ALL HAD HOPE BUT HE HAS SHOWN HE IS NOT WORTHY OF THE TRUST THAT HE TOOK WITH A DEVILS FORKED TONGUE. HE LIED TO GET ELECTED. TO DECIEVE THE EASILY SWADE.
THE FOUNDERS DID NOT SET UP SEPERATION OF CHURCH AND STATE THAT WAS DONE LATER. THE FOUNDERS ACTUALLY STATED THAT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT WILL NOT SHALL NOT ENDORSE AN OFFICAL RELIGION WITH TAX DOLLARS OF THE UNITED STATES. THAT WHAT IT STATES NOT THE CONTRIVED BS THE LIBS HAVE MORPHED IT INTO.

    • GrumpyOldMan

So Jews had nothing to do with the founding of our country? Wonder why they keep referring to a Judeo Christians in all the documents. But contrary to OBozo's statement, Muslims were our enemies then and still are. Jefferson established the Navy and Marine Corps to fight Muslims.

But you are correct about the separation of church and state BS. It appears no where in the Constitution. The 1st Amendment, aka "The Establishment Clause" is exactly as you state it.

    • Southerngirl

The Jews are "GOD'S CHOSEN ONES". And if Obama keeps snubbing them & Iran attacks them; that's it. Because if someone has a chance to stop an attack in Israel; but does nothing, then the "WRATH OF GOD" will fall on that person or persons.

Ennnnnnnnnnnnn. Wrong again. Founding Fathers established that government stay the hell out of the church's business but one should bring his faith which is his moral character with him wherever he goes. If he does not, then he is two faced and only liberals like to vote that way, all day, all the time.

    • GrumpyOldMan

      Semantics.

Half of the Americans did NOT vote obama in and personally I do not call him a president. He has not earned that right.

    • Southerngirl

You are exactly right Beth. I have NEVER called him the President. He's lied about so many things & continues to do the same. He's up to his neck when it comes to his relationship with the Muslim Brotherhood & George Soros.

And I find it sickening to hear a person say they are a Christian; but would post an article written by someone that has ties to Obama that puts Mitt Romney & Anti-Christ in a sentence together. If anyone comes close to being the Anti-Christ; it would be Obama.

There are many different religions in this world & just because my religion is different from someone else's definitely doesn't mean I'm going to heaven & the other person is going to hell. Mitt Romney is a Mormon. But "FIRST IN LINE" he's a devout Christian. You can't say the same for Obama.

    • http://theawakenednation.ning.com/profile/KevinMKeener Snowman8wa

Sorry Elly, but that is incorrect and if you are even thinking of using the uber-lib example of the Treaty of Tripoli as an example, you would be 0 and 2.....The Founding Fathers ensured that WE could worship as we please and that Congress SHALL NOT establish a National Religion nor shall they interfere with our Religious rights. That does not mean “Separation” that just
      means our rights are “ensured”.

      The Bible is intertwined within our Declaration, our Constitution and Bill of Rights, etc... (http://www.faithfacts.org/christ-and-the-culture/the-bible-and-government);

“God” is mentioned 4 times in the Declaration of Independence:

1st as the maker of the laws of Nature and nature’s God (Romans 1:18, 19)

      2nd as a Creator, (Genisis)

3rd is the Supreme Judge of the World (Romans 2, Revelation), and

      4th is “Divine Providence” (Genisis)

Deuteronomy 17:15 warns us against selecting a "king" (Leader) from one that is NOT our own. The Founding Fathers knew that too, and by using Vattel’s explanation in ‘The Law of Nations’; yet we have violated Article I, Section II of the Constitution twice! (Chester A. Arthur’s father was a Baptist minister who was an Irish Immigrant.)…..but that is another topic all together…

Mormons are not Christians....and it doesn't matter. Mormans and Christians share a common morality, that's what we need in our leaders. Our religions (how we interact with God) are different, but our morality (how we interact with each other) is the same. Our Founders knew for this nation to be successful we would need Christian morals. That's why the 1st Amendment names freedom of Religion not freedom of Morality.

    • GrumpyOldMan

And live in tyranny like a lot of other countries that have no freedom or liberty, but are still considered Christian. Right. No thanks. The Lord helps those who help themselves, not sit on the sidelines waiting for someone else to do the heavy lifting.

    • PoorPitifulPearl

How blind you so-called Christians are! You actually believe all the lies, myths and misinformation you've been seeing on blogs and have been told by your own preachers, whose motivation is solely to keep his parishoners in the pews, that these myths must be true! I implore you to go to the website lds.org and read the truth for yourself. I am a Mormon, and converted 41 years ago because after much soul searching and study, I came to know that Mormons preached the whole gospel of truth. We accept Jesus Christ (the same one you believe in) as our Lord and Savior and as the Son of God. Your idea of the trinity was defined by a bunch of Catholic priests who couldn't agree on theology until Emporer Constantine demanded that they come up with one creed before he'd let them spread Catholicsim in the empire. They met at what was known as the Council at Nicea and hashed it out between over 300 priests, and finally came up with the Nicene Creed. Check it out for yourselves, or are you so close-minded that you can't do that?
And why is it that various denominations of Christians espouse different forms of baptism, i.e., sprinkling, dunking and difference in ages of the baptized? Why is it that each denomination has its own liturg; and some do missionary work, others don't; some hire their pastors via a council, others via preaching try-outs; why do some pay their pastors, secretaries, janitors, teachers, etc. and others do not; and the list goes on. You are all entitled to your own way of doing things if that is what you wish, but you have absolutely no right to put down the Mormons just because they're different. Do you put down the Amish? The Mennonites? The Quakers? Obviously you didn't because Richard Nixon became president and he was a Quaker. Why so intolerant of the Mormons? I know the answer. It is because you are not informed as to the truth behind the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and you do not wish to know because it might make you uncomfortable. The author of this article did not do his homework, and that's for certain. Mormons do not deify Joseph Smith or any other Prophet...deification is only for our God, Lord and Savior as it should be. And lest you think the Book of Mormon is anything other than a second testimony of the divinity and life of Christ, you are sadly mistaken.
You are entitled to your own opinions of your own religion, and Mormons do not tear down any other Christian religion, nor that of the Jews. We hold no animosity toward any of you, but only ask that you also be tolerant of the differing views of all Christians as we are tolerant of you. Mormons are Christians. I could be nothing else!

    • 1Clara2

My son has been a Mormon ever since he turned 19, and he's 56 now. For all those years, he's been trying to turn me from being a Methodist to being a Mormon; and I can't remember him ever making his case as clearly as you just did right here. I've known many Mormons over the years and they were mostly upstanding, hardworking, clean living individuals. Granted, there are always a few bad apples in any church (think Harry Reid), but for the most part I would trust a Mormon way before I would trust a Muslim (think Obama).
My son fell on hard times a few years ago, and the Mormon church came to his rescue over and over again, paying his rent, providing food, and making sure he had some money in his pocket. The only requirement was that when he got back on his feet he would pay his tithe, which he's doing now. If the church had not done that for him, I don't know where he would be today...probably in a ditch somewhere.
Even though I'm not a Mormon, I defend that church any chance I get because I respect them highly and know they are true to their religion, which is more than I can say for some people I've met even in my own church.
      Thanks!!

    • John Hand

The Baptist church does the same thing, comes to one's aid. But we do not 'require' them to pay their tithe. I too have known lots of good Mormons, and they do tend to have some strong family values. I also used to live in Los Angeles, and met tons of young Mormons who had 'made their escape' from Utah and Mormonism. I don't have the names and titles in front of me for what the Mormon faith teaches about what they must do, and what happens to them after they die, but if you readers care to look it up, you will see how ridiculous the faith gets at that point. The Mormon elders have created their own faith, and over the years, they have kept modifying it, just like the Catholic church. I say, keep the Bible, the Christian Bible like King James at your side, live by it, and you will have a much better chance at making it to Heaven.

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/RZ42TW6EI572U5ASFXVB54AHGI Lance

Jeez John, you sound like so many zealots. Practice what you want, but who are you to challange anothers belief in God? When I gave my military oath to defend the constitution of the United States from enemies both forign an domestic, religious freedom was part of it. Vote for Romney the man, the business man, the man who can get this country working again, not the Morman then. If you can't do that, just go ahead and vote for Omuslim.

    • SeniorChiefPaul

Very well put. It just goes to show how "religion" and denominations have divided the Christian faith and deceived many of those who believe in the Messiah as our Savior and Lord. As Christians, we don't always have the best of choices in situations, so we have to go with what our heart tells us is the right choice. My choices didn't make it through the primaries, so now what do I do? I have to look at the record, the unfulfilled promises, and the outright lies and cover ups that have come out of the current administration, and look to see if his actions were those of someone who is patriotic and really cares about the welfare of this nation or is he just interested in doing what he thinks is best for re-election so he can take us further down the road to socialism and tyranny?
We also must look at the EXPERIENCE of the candidates. Obama has done nothing but go to school, teach school, serve as a "Community Organizer" (whatever that means), and a short stint in the Senate. Romney KNOWS much more about EVERYTHING that's important to the welfare of this nation (unless you believe the liberal lies).
Romney is closer to being a Christian than Obama has ever been (in spite of what Obama claims). The election process is a secular process that we engage in, and we are to use Godly wisdom in our actions. If we would pray for God's guidance on how to vote, and then listen to our hearts (kind of like women's intuition), we would certainly know, deep down inside, that the guy in there now is not good for America.
I used to be a staunch Democrat. Over the years, I have discovered how selfish, self-serving, and self-centered the party has become, and how bad their platform is for our nation. We, as citizens, MUST tailor our actions towards what's best for the country, not for ourselves. The American dream is there for anyone who wants to work for it, but the Democrats want to keep taking from those of us who work for our money and give it to those who won't.
I IMPLORE those who call themselves Christian, regardless of denomination, NOT to vote a third party candidate. If you do, it's a vote for the guy who is dragging this nation to its knees. In spite of what you may think of the Mormon religion, I have NEVER met a Morman that didn't have faith in his God, true moral values, a sense of decency, and a love for this country; and I've known and worked with many.of them.
I don't look at voting for Mitt Romney as the lesser of two evils, I think that he is the ABSOLUTE best choice for my country. Oh, by the way, was raised in the fifties, served in the military for 22 years, I love God, and I love my country.

    • John Hand

Pearl, you are poor and pitiful. While you were taking up so much space, why didn't you inform all about what supposedly happens to people of your religion when they die? Go on, reveal to all how ridiculous the ideology those old old men in your church have made up, just as bad as the old men who run the Catholic church. No I am not an aetheist. I am Christian, but in my church, Southern Baptist, we go only with the Bible, the true Bible of Jesus Christ, and we do believe in one way to die, and a choice of two places to go, and you make that choice in advance. No one can 'pray you out of Purgatory' for instance, as the Catholics believe. I am voting for Romney the man, and I am making a choice, Muslim or....Mormon. Oh well, what else can I say?

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/RZ42TW6EI572U5ASFXVB54AHGI Lance

Hey John. You don't belong to one of the snake handling southern baptist churches do you? If you do, don't you find something odd about driniking poison and getting snakebit? Believe how you will.
Frankly, I find that wierd, but I won't call you any names for it. I am a Catholic, but have had many friends in the Morman faith, and the Baptist faith. All three believe in God, and Jesus Christ the savior. So what is with the hate? You sound more like the left, so remember, we believe in religious freedoms granted by our constitution.

    • mallen11

Gonesurfing, I agree with you. I believe the R&R team will make a difference in the direction in which we as a Nation is going.

    • 44rd11

Romney is almost as bad as Obama - not thinking before speaking - and such a wimpy attack. The guy is too good to be true - perhaps the first candidate in years that has such a clean all American boy record.

    • mallen11

I had to laugh at your reply since a "clean all American boy" is what we need in this downtrodden nation where -0 has lead us.

      Proverbs
29:2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked bears rule, the people mourn….

      We are mourning!

    • 1Clara2

I'm confused...first you say that "Romney is almost as bad as Obama", and then you say "The guy is too good to be true...has such a clean all American...record." Which is he? Good or bad? I regard him as the best candidate we've had for President in many a long year. When I make my mark in his column, I'll heave a sigh of relief, believe me.

    • http://www.facebook.com/paul.r.hurst Paul R. Hurst

Jesus and Paul called them out on the hypocritical way they lived their lives, NOT on doctrinal points.

    • 44rd11

You have not a clue about Jesus or his disciples - and yet you claim to "believe" in the Bible. Jesus went to Temple and to the synagogues - his ONE confrontation with the Temple was the sellers of animals for sacrifice and for the money changers - because they had made "My Fathers house is a house of prayer and YOU have made it a den of thieves." ON the day of his ascension into heaven - the disciples went to the TEMPLE and praised God. His disciples - that Jesus hand picked - never believed that he was GOD, but a great prophet - they were prepared to build a shrine to him him, Moses and Elijah. The two on the road to Emmaus thought he was a great prophet. It was the Catholic Church that began in the 4th century to teach that Jesus was "God" part of the Trinity. Inculcating many pagan practices and beliefs into the church to "spread" the gospel. and so we have Santa Claus - The wise men brought gifts to the baby Jesus (we spend ourselves into debt giving each other and our children gifts on the day when we should be presenting Jesus a gift in celebration of HIS birthday.) the we have the "Christmas" and we've even taken that pagan tradition into our sanctuaries along with Santa Claus. Then we come to Easter, the celebration of our Lord's triumph over death and his resurrection - we have Easter Bunnies and decorated eggs - and all that candy - more paganism brought into the 'church'.

Sunday "worship" service - is not - it's being preached at and the most important thing - passing the plate. Worship of God should be on our knees in prayer and singing his praise. At what point, after you've been saved - do you begin to live the life Jesus taught and begin to WORSHIP "our Father, who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name".

    • Mary West

Hey Hey Hey! We are not voting on a religion for America, We are faced with losing our freedom to worship-whatever religious doctrine. • Appalacian Woman

Wrong. We're called on to "Inspect the fruit". God is the judge.

    • 44rd11

Judge not, for with such judgement shall ye be judged.

    • sudyrand

Wrong again. No where in the Bible does it say, that we are our brothers keeper, except when Cain killed Able and God asked Cain where was Able and Cain said, "I know not, Am I my brothers' keeper?" And that is the only place in the Bible where that phase is used. Obama is probably acting as Cain, in using that term or perhaps 20 years in Wrights' Church have left him with a skewerd view of the Bible. So I would not use obamas' quote for any purpose.

Valor, Beagal was not passing judgment, but you obviously are. He is no bigot, but obviously you have a problem because you know nothing about Christianity if you cannot accept the beliefs of others. I, too, am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and I converted at age 27 and I am now 67, having studied many religions after I discovered many flaws in the Evangelical faith I originally was brought up in...mainly constant changes in doctrine, worship, liturgy, etc. I thought I had lost my faith in religion, but I finally realized that religion as I knew it had actually lost me. You need to have an attitude adjustment and study for yourself instead of blindly following wolves in sheeps clothing who spout lies and deception in order to keep their flocks close.

No. We're not shoirtsighted but we're also not naive enough to swallow the swill that a vote for any other candidate will help change things around. Romney's not my candidate either (my choice didn't run), but I'd vote for Goofy before I'd vote for Obozo. So ya'll play your games or help make a change which we can modify the next go 'round.

There are only two options. No third party vote will win this election. Which will ensure that Obama wins....

It doesn't matter if Obama or Romney win....they both have a history of supporting the exact same programs, including abortion. Romney can say anything he wants, but there is no reason to think he will keep any of his promises, anymore than Obama kept any of his promises the last election. I will be voting 3rd party, because I see absolutely no difference between a vote for Romney or a vote for Obama.

    • 44rd11

No, it does not. It doesn't add to Romney or Obama - it's just a waste of your vote. Why go at all - ?

      Unfortunately
there are only two, because never in our nations history has anyone

will informed or you are a Obama supporter trying to get people to
      vote 3rd
party so Obama can get re-elected and he will if people vote for a
      3rd
      party.

    • Ron Bedell

Americans have voted for the lesser of two evils far too long and all we get is more evil. And I'm not sure which candidate is more evil. Both are big supporters of the Satanic New World Order which paves the way for the anti-Christ.

    • 44rd11

You have no clue - you just spit out what others tell you to have something to say. ON WHAT basis is Mitt Romney a "Satanic New World Order" person - give us some facts - not "what you've heard" or that he is a "member of some group". A lot of people believe they are "Christians, they go to church regularly" and sure as I'm putting my fingers to this keyboard - many of them are going to hell.

    • AgentOrange5

This is totally INcorrect. Perhaps you meant to say "in recent history", as the US has most certainly had presidents from other parties.

    • 44rd11

There will always be only two Party's - that another might rise and push out one of the current Party's - is a possibility - one we pray will happen immediately after this election - I'm looking forward to getting rid of the elephant - and say we take up an American Bison or a Grizzley Bear.

    • 44rd11

There are more options - but there are only two that count. This country is dominated by two parties - the closest a third party ever came was Ross Perot - and it's a total shame he wasn't elected - but even he could not come up with a smidgen of the electoral college. I suppose it's fun to try and be a spoiler. but there is NO chance of a third party doing more than that - and the odds at this point - you will give Obama the win. There are too many people on the government dole - that believe Obama has a stash of cash that he can just pass out - there is no clue to those that one day there will not even be the ability to print enough money to get us out of the mess and the tax slavery their children will enjoy.

Perhaps a greater Biblical study is in order - Start with John 10:17, then go to Mark 9:38-40. Then try John 14:6, then go to John 17:22-24; 1Cor 12:11-13; Eph 4:2-3; Matt 7:15-21
Then go here http://mormon.org/articles-of-faith and then look up the articles of faith of your denomination (if you are a Baptist like me here http://sbc.org/aboutus/basicbeliefs.asp)
Now what is so different ? How about we agree on the things we agree on, the rest we can ask the Author and Perfector of our Faith when we get before Him (as if this petty stuff we argue about will matter in His presence)

    • beagal

      KayDeeBeau:
I am "Mormon", and my older daughter married a find young Baptist. Although he finds "mormonism doctrine hard to believe", he is voting for Romney. He finds BHO to be too "socialistic".

    • KayDeeBeau

As I have learned more - I think many of the misunderstanding are related to a "unique" language of LDS that seems foreign to other believers though when one gets into the meat of the "phrasing" accompanied with the Bible, one can understand that the "scary" stuff isn't so odd after all

    • beagal

KayDee Beau: I meant "fine" young Baptist. (I love that he does not smoke, and he's not a drinker, either
I believe you are very correct about the "lingo"!
Having worked as a funeral director/embalmer, my husband still rolls his eyes when I say "funeral coach" (hearse), or "cremains" (cremated remains!!

    • beagal

So, why keep re-hashing anti-mormon stuff? Accept that people have agency. Accept that people will belong to the religion of their choice. Remember the old adage: "A person convinced against his will, is of the same opinion, still.
For right NOW, the country needs to focus on the better candidate; not what his religion is, but what talents he will bring to the office.

    • Mar

Yes Sandy, please pray tell who you will vote for if not for Romney? You can write-in vote for Ron Paul which will end up being a vote for Obama or you can vote for Obama. That is your choice, but vote very carefully.

    • 44rd11

Why go to the polls at all. It's the same difference. A write in vote or voting for a third party is NOT a vote for Obama. Only checking the box for Obama is a vote for him. The result however, may be that Obama's supporters, the homosexual sodomites and lesbians, the Socialists and Communists - may have more votes that Romney gets. Just remember, YOU are responsible for your choice.

    • Appalacian Woman

Then you are voting for Obama, a man whose actions do not come close to reflecting Chistrian principles while Romney's do. He has personally acted out the parable of the Good Samaritan more than once, while Obama's personal life does not. Since you are a Christian, I urge you to reconsider.

    • http://www.facebook.com/gene.r.swank Gene R Swank

I have known many Mormons, most are very good people. They are just falsly believing the book of Morman which is untrue according to the Bible. I will be voting for Romney even though he was not my first choice but he is an Honorable man and a good businessman. Our government needs to be run like a business. You dont borrow money you cant pay back and you dont borrow money to give to someone else who wont pay it back. You dont continuelly lie to the American people and believe you can get away with it like obumer does!!!!!

    • alio

Yes, that's the choice we have, a good person or a deceitful person who claimed he was Christian for expedience to sway people in 2008, but I can't say I've seen any evidence of faith, if Pastor Wright was an example.
Were the leaders of Jesus' day Christians, or others?

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Kathleen-Craigie/100000164807155 Kathleen Craigie

That's how I feel. I kept hoping that ALLEN WEST would decide to run... He would be a really strong leader against radical islamic terrorism and Leftist "race baiting" tactics to suppress speech that THEY don't like. He won't put up with ANY of that nonsense....

I am just praying that ALLEN WEST will win his seat back in the House this November.....but if he doesn't and Mitt Romney wins, ALLEN WEST could make an EXCELLENT Secretary of State....Or DEFENSE.... having a military background.....and experience with radical islam...

.ALLEN WEST wouldn't put up with their "temper tantrums" every time that they choose to be offended... and being OFFENDED ** i s ** a CHOICE that everyone makes.... so what they are doing now in response is ALSO a CHOICE that they are making of their OWN volition....Nobody else is to blame, despite what Hillary Clinton and the WH are claiming....

    • kimjim4042

Allen West is a great man and would make a great Sec. of Defense. I really admire him and an hoping Romney will place him in the right position to really serve this country. He is a great American, a man of truth and intergrity. Greatly admired by many. We need someone who is strong and experienced. He has alreed this country with great honor. God bless him and keep him well.

    • GrumpyOldMan

And as a veteran who took an oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic, and since both support both the Patriot Act and the NDAA which essentially nullify our bill of rights (First 10 Amendments of the Constitution) I won't vote for either one of them. I'll take the Liberty Party this time.

    • http://www.facebook.com/sfcretdennis Dennis VanMeter

A vote for anyone other then Romney is a vote for Obama and Obama hates the Constitution.

    • 44rd11

No, only a vote FOR obama is a vote for obama. your vote only counts for who you vote for. The result - now that is different - your vote to someone else - may just be that vote that was needed to dethrone Obama - it may just be THE vote that let's his homosexual sodomites and lesbians, his muslims, Socialists and Communists have the requisite votes to keep him as president. Just remember - you have to live with the results - just like everyone else. Choose wisely - you only get one opportunity.

    • alio

So, oldman, you essentially plan to throw us to the lions?

    • Ron Bedell

Amen! Romney is a big supporter of the Patriot Act and the NDAA which destroys all of our God given rights. I am voting for a third party candidate also.

    • PoorPitifulPearl

Wrong on both counts, Ron. Who told you that, anyway? The lamestream media?

    • Ron Bedell

Romney, himself, came out and said it. I actually heard him say it. Google it and see for yourself.

    • Ron Bedell
    • 44rd11

as I said - stupid is as stupid does. Romney did NOT vote for the Patriot Act nor the NDAA. he was a private citizen. A big supporter - how - did he give of his millions to have it voted for - or did he make a speech recommending it - tell me - how was he a "big supporter" of either?

    • AL

As both a veteran and a christian I will vote for Romney as he is also a christian and has this countries interest in hand as opposed to the guy.

    • 44rd11

stupid is as stupid does. YOU are as responsible for the outcome - the continued destruction of our country and the Constitution. You can find NOT one iota of data that suggests Romney does not support the constituion or the Bill of rights.

and I might ask - what does the Liberty party stand for?

    • kimjim4042

Sir, you are wrong and a third party vote will only help obama. You are misjudging Romney/Ryan and are making a mistake if you vote third party. I might expect that from a young and inexperienced college student but Not from someone who would identify themself as "Grumpyoldman".As a vet owe it to our military to vote in their best interest and that is not a third party vote and that is not an obama vote. Vote for America and the Military in which you served. And Sir, Thank you for your service. God Bless.

    • Wingedgodd3ss

As a Christian, why are you voting for Obama? He is anti Christian, obviously a muslim and totally bad for our country. How in good conscience can you do that?

    • alio

Yes, God gave us a good conscience to do what's right. How can a thinking person claiming to be Christian vote for someone who kills babies and votes for it?
Do we want those Muslims on TV burning and destroying & killing to eventually run our Country? I think not.

    • Wingedgodd3ss

      I don't know. I don't understand it either.

    • CLN

We will not be voting for a pastor we will be voting for a Presidant. If the so called Christian right would have voted the way thay should have in the last election instead of doing a protest vote and voted for obama because they did not like McCane or did not vote at all for the same reason the United States would not be in the shape it is now. And another thing I dont know how any one can call them selfs a Christian and vote for any one who has a track record on abortions and the killing of BABYS the way obama has. I hope when CHRIST opens the books on judgment day these people have a real good excuse for there actions.

    • alio

What could be more unGodly and un-Christian than voting for more killing of innocent little babies lives? obama voted for late term abortions which essentially kills the baby when the head appears.

      This IS NOT Christian beliefs.

The DINGBAT CONVENTION in Charlotte was a total exercise in Leftist arrogance.... pushing the likes of sandra fluke in our faces and even Caroline Kennedy sold out her faith for 30 pieces of silver.... (acceptance by the Elitist Pro-Abortion Left).....and put chose DEATH over Life.......Surely the Democrat Kool-Aid "left" a bitter taste in her mouth when she realized how she betrayed her church.... She could have made such a difference.... for the lives of the unborn.....as a Catholic..... with the platform she had, but she drank the Kool-Aid instead.... :-(

    • marianne72343

You are so right CLN. Also, the thirty milion Christans that didn't vote in 2008 helped this dictator win.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Kathleen-Craigie/100000164807155 Kathleen Craigie

That's too bad. John McCain wasn't my TOP CHOICE, but he sure would have been a LOT better than Obama. Agreed. I was really excited about having SARAH PALIN on the ticked and I believe she could have made a big difference...especially with our energy situation.... and with FOREIGN POLICY... Like so many Americans, she KNOWS what radical islam is all about.

I think a LOT of us are looking for the next RONALD REAGAN to come along on a white horse to save the day..... and since it hasn't happened as yet, we are somewhat disenchanted with the choice that we do have and I so very much want to believe that he really IS the person that I saw presented at the convention and that he isn't, as the likes of Soros has claimed, no different than Obama........but is, instead, the BEST hope for America and for all of us, after the nearly irreparable damage done by Obama and his marxist minions in Washington..........

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Kathleen-Craigie/100000164807155 Kathleen Craigie

I did vote..... for McCain and Palin. There is NO WAY that I am voting Democrat, with or without Obama........I totally oppose EVERYTHING that the Left stands for and I feel even more strongly about that THIS year....

    • alio

Sandy, I hate to say this, but you're an idiot. Do you prefer a Muslim?
Haven't these people shown who they really are? Not Christ like in any way.

    • Ron Bedell

Sandy, I am a believer in Jesus Christ, also. I am not voting for Romney either. It is not so much because he is Mormon but rather it is because Romney is a big supporter of the New World Order. The New World Order paves the way for the anti-Christ. Of course, Obama is doing that right now too. So in my opinion "R" and "O" are not worth a plug nickel and they are not getting my vote. I will probably vote for Virgil Goode.

    • Wingedgodd3ss

      Another vote for Obama....

    • Ron Bedell

I think when the Republican Party gets their act together and starts putting up candidates who will obey the constitution then we will come back to the GOP. There is no way on this planet that I could vote for Romney. In many ways Romney is a carbon copy of Obama. They are both socialists (Romneycare = Obamacare) and they are both big supporters of internationalism and the New World Order. I don't think Americans understand how dangerous the New World Order really is.

    • alio

Yeah, that's smart. Let's vote for the Muslim world order.

    • Ron Bedell

You can if you want too. That's your business. But I cannot vote for Romney. I don't think you understand how dangerous and anti-American the New World Order is. And Romney is a big supporter of it. No sir, I am voting for a candidate who will stand up for the constitution.

    • 44rd11

and - Where does Obama stand in the New World Order tapestry of yours? Oh, it's the Muslim Caliphate - because he is NOT a Christian by any measure except his deceit in saying so - every action - every word from his lips tells you he is a Muslim - and not just a Muslim - but a member of the Taliban (not to be confused with al Qaeda). Look it up, Obama, Pakistan, 1981, Taliban. And their goal - the destruction of the western culture which includes, believe it or not, your Christianity. Vote how you will - it is your choice as an American Citizen - but you get to live with the result, as do your children and grand children. Cut off your nose to spite your face - you have NO real reason to vote for "virgil goode".

    • AL

So yoiu are going to take the words of a "no-mormon" rather then asking a mormon what they believe or searching the churches web site. I guess this would be like asking your mechanic to also provide all of your health care. I am a Christian as I believe that Christ is my Savior and only worship him and non other.

    • PoorPitifulPearl

Sandy, this is complete garbage, and you have been misled.

    • PoorPitifulPearl

Sandy, that site is pure garbage and has no validity. There is no such thing as the "White Horse Prophecy" etc. Someone is pulling the wool over your eyes. Go to http://www.Mormon.org and get a real education before you decide to vote. As yourself if you really want to vote for a man who said he'd stand with Islam over Christianity, or a third party candidate who would guarantee another 4 years of Obamanation?

    • 44rd11

Why go to the polls at all. It's the same difference. You may be as foolish as you wish - Obama is destroying your "Christianity", Mitt Romney will at the most, leave you to your own destruction.

    • Disgusted

Then you are going to help Obama get elected. Thanks a lot, Sandy.
The presidency is of this world and we need a good man in there. Romney is a better man than Obama and we need to get rid of him before there is no country left. We are in this world, but not of it and we are to do our best to live decent lives to be an example to unbelievers, not help despots get in so they can rule over things.
If you don't think some worldly people are better choices to run this country than others, then look at what is ruling some of the poorest countries in this world and how their people are treated.
I'd rather take my chances with Romney than with people who are marxists and communists and whose only agendas is to get to be on top and lord it over the rest of us. That's not what this country is supposed to be about.

    • Tjstole

Sandy, Checked out your link but really rather far fetched. We're much more in danger of a Muslim calaphate or an economic collapse than any ridiculous speculative Mormon dictatorship. We do have checks and balances in our constitution and VP Ryan and republican leaders are not about to let something like that happen. Romney's track record is much more of an indicator of how he'll govern and he has an excellent one. We already see what's coming up now with unfettered taxpayer funded abortion, gay marriage and out of control govt under Obama and he'll only be further emboldened in a second term. How Christians can sit back and watch that happen is beyond me. The constitution says there's to be no religious test. We're electing a President not Pastor in chief.

    • kimjim4042

Sandy, Many of the things said here are enough to make you say,"I Love Jesus, but I hate religion". We are not electing a religion or choosing a God to worship. We are electing a president who will protect our freedom, save this country, and make certain you always have a choice in how you believe. Voting for Romney does nothing to reduce your devotion to your christianity but it does help to save America from a Communist, muslim, sharia law future where Christians could be slaughtered like Jews were when Hitler was elected a second time. A no vote or a third party vote helps obama, please re-consider.Our Lord Jesus knows all and sees all and will truly understand. Ask his guidance and vote your conviction.

    • Henry F. Smith

I would like to hear your version of "Mormon doctrine". If you say it is not Christian you have no idea what the doctrine is and the one selling you his understanding of the gospel for money knows no more than you.

    • GONESURFING

My Christian doctrine comes from the Bible, not from the Book of Mormon or Maroni or any other source or questionable people like Joseph Smith. The Bible does state at the end that if anyone adds or subtracts from this book he will be in trouble. I believe that God is one God, but three persons, God the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

    • http://www.facebook.com/sfcretdennis Dennis VanMeter

      I
got news for you there are three other section in the Bible that says
the same thing and the word Bible means, "Book of Books" so
Peter is one book, James another book, John another and so forth and
we do preach form the Bible, Christ said, "Other sheep I have
that are not of this fold the to must hear my word". so who are
these other sheep? We believe that they are the early inhabitants of
this country and they too would have a written word of Jesus Christ
would they not? We teach from both the Bible and the Book of
Mormon. There are other section of the bible that tills us that
God is not a God of confusion and to say they are one when at Jesus
Christ Baptism a dove descended out of heave and the voice of God
said this is my be loved son in whom I am well pleased would me he is
a God of Confusion how can he be the father and the son? There for
this tills me that they are not one put three. When J. C. said
I and the father are one he was referring to them being one in
      purpose, one in union.

      By
the way the writer of this article is wrong, we “NEVER” have and
“NEVER” will believe that God had sex with Mary, the bible does
not teach this there for we don't no were in our teachings do we
teach this false doctrine, I know of not religion that does and would
love to know were this writer and anyone ells who climes other wise
gets their false information about us.

    • Mary West

"Do not let your heart be troubled", The writer is wrong and should focus on this important election. All must be at peace and keep FREEDOM in their sights for that is the most pressing issue. Go to your church and pray for others that try to Judge others. God is the only Judge. WORDS can not hurt us, but loss of FREEDON can!!

    • beagal

      Amen, and amen!

    • David Spencer

put all the religion aside and vote for the one who believes marriage is between a man and a woman, and that abortion is wrong. Vote Romney. If religion must come into play, go and study about Reverent Wright and Obama's 20 years with him. Then just try to vote for Obama. Romney is a good man and has leadership skills.

    • GONESURFING

I am supporting Romney for president, and I don't believe that people are saved or damned by their doctrine, if they were most of us would be lost, I am sure there will be a lot of people in Heaven from many different churches. If we believe that Jesus died for our sins and that he was raised from the dead we shall be saved, not of works lest any man should boast.

    • Mary West

Amen! God will be the Judge. He has revealed his requirements for Glory. Religious doctrine should NOT be the main factor in saving FREE America.Take one step at a time. We plan, we plan our work and work our plan. This is how we keep FREE. Vote FREEDOM: Romney/Ryan. The govt will be there when we are ready to deal with them.

    • Jonathan

Doctrine simply are truths of Scripture concerning God, Christ, man, sin, salvation, heaven, hell, etc. What you believe (your doctrine) will indeed save or damn you.

    • GONESURFING

You are right that you can be damned and completely misled by false doctrine and false gods, but Jesus saves you from your sins, not having the exact right doctrine on everything. You must be BORN AGAIN.

In the beginning was the WORD and the WORD was with GOD and the WORD was GOD. Yes, I believe in God the father, Jesus & Holy Spirit.

However, I'm not voting for a GOD, I'm voting for a decent man who wants to be President and get rid of the un-Godly Marxist who believes in abortions, same sex marriage and all the things God abhors.

    • http://www.facebook.com/sharon.ward.hawkins Sharon Hawkins

      My sentiment.

    • PoorPitifulPearl

You do not understand the Bible. The Book of Revelations was written by the Apostle John, who received this inspiration from the Holy Spirit. It was written shortly after Christ was crucified, and many other books were written since then, particularly the book of Luke, who never even met Christ. The Councils at Nicea were responsible for putting the books of the Bible into some sort of order, and that is what they decided in conference. They threw out at least 13 known books of the Bible that are mentioned and referred to in the New Testament, and added in some rather odd books, such as "The Songs of Solomon" which are rather racy and not very scriptural. They put the New Testament in order from the longest books to the shortest and decided to put Revelations at the end because they believed, erroneously, that there would be no more revelation from God. Not so. If you read James 1:5, it tells you that "if any of you lack wisdom, let him as of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him."
Why would a loving God stop giving revelation to a man who needed guidance, or a parent who needed inspiration...or for anyone who asked. What do you think the founding fathers relied upon, but inspiration that they declared was divine? Just asking!!!

    • beagal

Isn't God the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow?

    • 44rd11

Ah, but you haven't read the Book of Mormon - and IF you have read the Bible - it is most likely you don't really believe it either. There is but one GOD, the Father of us all; Jesus, the ONLY begotten Son of God, who will inherit the earth to be King of Kings and Lord of Lords - a one world theocracy government; the Holy Spirit, God's spirit that he gives to every person, it is through this holy spirit that God accomplishes his will.

Jesus said: In my Father's House are many mansions - he did not say, in OUR house, but in My Father's House.

On the occasion after Jesus had sent out his handpicked disciples to go tell others and to work miracles - they came on another man, not one of their group - they told him to stop, returning to Jesus, they told him. Jesus response - those that are not against us are for us; in other words, do what I tell you, and don't worry about the others.

As for the Trinity - that was accomplished in the 4th century. This doctrine does not appear to be a doctrine pronounced by the historical Jesus, Paul, or any other Christian writer during the first hundred years or so of Christianity.

It cannot be found explicitly stated in the earliest Christian writings. The only passage of the New Testament that declares the doctrine (1 John 5:7-8) was not originally part of the text but was added by doctrinally astute scribes at a later date (it is not found in any Greek manuscripts until the 11th century) (Ehrman B. From Jesus to Constantine: A History of Early Christianity, Part 2. The Teaching Company, Chantilly (VA), 2004, p. 43).

Jesus said: Faith without works is dead:
James 2:14-26 (New King James Version)

14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and
one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but
you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your[a] works, and I will show you my faith by my[b] works. 19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! 20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?[c] 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? 22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? 23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God. 24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.

Matthew 7: 24 - 27 It means that people who say they believe something but don't express
that belief by their actions, don't truly believe in their hearts what
      their mouths are saying.

Therefore their faith is dead. It is like a corpse. It resembles something alive but it is in fact, dead.

Christians - of all stripes strain at gnats and swallow camels - That YOU believe in the Trinity and that another sect or person believes that Jesus IS the only begotten son of God - but not "trinity", do you think it really matters - On Judgement day - God will note whether or not you received his son and his message - then he will JUDGE you by what you did.

    • GONESURFING

In Genesis God said let us make man in our image, I don't believe we are saved or damned by our doctrine but I'll stick with the Bible for mine. Vote Romney to save America.

    • art

The answer is simple, ask heavenly father who you should vote for

    • beagal

First, study it out. Then, take your decision to the Lord with sincere prayer. If the decision is right, you will have a burning (not acid reflux!) in your chest. If your decision was wrong, you will have a stupor of thought.

    • Mary West

Thank you. Pray for us. Vote Romney. Save FREE America. It seems all this may be test. We have two candidates, Do we vote for the evil one and have an excuse we can not practice our faith. Do we vote for one who perplexes us because he is "different" than candidates of the past. We do not know the future but we know how to preserve FREEDOM for the future. This test will sort out the faithful. Those that follow Obama will be oppressed and unable to carry on the works God describes. Those who vote for Romney will have the freedom to carry on the works we will be judged by. VOTE ROMNEY.

It also says in Matthew that if all of the things that Christ did while on this earth were written down, the world could not contain it all.

      Try telling that to Obama

That is why we must keep the house and get control of the senate. Harry Reid has blocked everything the House has tried to do . Harry Reid, a "mormon" has his agency to do things--but IMO his is "acting very un-mormon".

Your knowledge of Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon (the name is Moroni not Maroni) is as lacking as your knowledge of the Bible.
There are three possibilities to Revelation 22 that you quote "if any man shall add to or take away from the prophecy of this book...".
First Possibility: This passage of scripture is speaking of the Bible as a whole. Very improbable as the Bible was not compiled until over one hundred years (something like 350 AD) after the death of the apostles. The name Bible comes from the Greek meaning a library of books but John is talking about a (singular) book.
Second Possibility: John is talking about the book of Revelation exclusively. If so, that gives God the ability to reveal more, as the world needs more guidance.
Third Possibility: If you read Revelation 5:1, God revealed the Book of the Seven Seals and the remainder of Revelation is about the seven seals. Could this be what God was talking about when he said that "if any man add to or take away from the prophesies of this book".
The Book of Revelation is unique in the scriptures. I know of no other book in the Bible (or the Book of Mormon) that talks about the "Book of Seven Seals". The Book of the Seven Seals gives a history of God's involvement in the dispensations of the gospel.
Yes! I am a Latter-day Saints and have studied the Bible extensivley and love it. I believe the only "errors" in the Bible are those that would be the natural consequence of translating from one language to another. From my studies of other Christian religions, I find that they all suffer from this "errors" problem as I hear many pastors and teachers tell what the meaning of Biblical passages or words. I have studies different versions of the Bible and from one translation to another there are subtle difference. I don't believe the differences are important - The Bible is the word of God.
Many Latter-day Saints roll their eyes in wonder when we hear non Mormons pontificate on what we believe. From my experience, about 90% (ok, so I pulled that number out of the air - but you get the idea) is either completley in error or has been taken out of context to give an errorneous twist.

I am voting for Mitt Romney not because of his religion but because he is far better for America than the socialist Obama.

    • Edward

I am also voting for Romney, not because of his religion but because his conservative politics. Being a Latter-day Saint, I understand the depth of his commitment to the agency of man to be free from government intrusion into our lives. Romney served a two year mission for the LDS church, he was a bishop (comporable to a pastor except that LDS bishops serve without pay), and as a stake president (a stake is an organization of about twelve wards - or congregations. Here again, they service without pay). LDS missionaries serve without pay and support themselves with money they saved or their family support. Bishop's and stake president's service requires many hours each week - usually, more than full-time employment. Bishops and stake presidents have their secular careers that usually demand more than forty hours a week.
How do they do it? I have been a member of the LDS Church for over fifty years and I still don't know how they do it except that it a testimony of God's sustaining of his servants. I marvel at the committment of the men and women (including missionaries) who serve so valiantly.
Any man that has been through the cruciable of service, as has Romney, and is willing to serve his country as president has my respect and vote.

    • karolh

Edward, you certianly explain things well. Thank you for taking the time. I can assure you, as a christian, most of us will vote for Mitt. We are not as worried about his Mormon faith as we are about Obama's connection with Rev. Wright, Marxists, Ayers, Muslim faith and Chicago thugs. Some of us do not know a lot or understand the Mormon Religion, but we do understand Obama and 4 years with him is enough. Doctrines are not faith in our GOD, they are man made guides. I have prayed daily for GOD to send a christian to lead our great nation that HE so graciously provided for our time on this earth. I believe HE answered my prayers with Mitt and Paul. They are both christians walking the walk and talking the talk. However, in HIS wisdom, they are from two different denominations, but both believe and serve the same Heavenly Father as I and our founding Fathers. I have no fear of either of them, they will guide us out of this mess Obama has us in and we will be stronger for it. They will protect us, serve "We The People", pray with us and respect our Constitution. They will assure Israel that we are their brothers and sisters in GOD and we will stand with them in all things. All a person has to do is open their eyes and minds, they will see that GOD has made HIS choice for us, who can find fault with that?. God is blessing America again, all we have to do is accept it by voting for Mitt and Paul.

    • kimjim4042

Thank you for that wonderful post.I agree with you and am praying with Gods help we can keep the house and take the senate. We can restore this great country and regain the respect of the world. We can create jobs and trust our leader to do what is best for America and it's citizens and each of us will be free to worship in our own way. Thank you again and plese continue to spread that wonderful message.

    • beagal

karolh: With all my heart, I truly believe that R/R will lead this great country by serving the people.Only One was Perfect; (and I don't mean BHO) R/R will commit to service.

Fantastic and your statements are supurb as one Mormon to another. Thank you for you dissertation.

    • kimjim4042

I hope people will think and realize, We are not voting for who believes what about God. We are voting for a president who has the ability to run this country. Religion is not in question here, Romney is a man of intergrity, honesty, honor, experience, family driven and loves this country. Your other choice is a Muslim, communist, Maxist, lying, narcissist, racist, America destroying Radical. Vote for America, keep your choice of religion, keep your freedom and regain the country we all love so very much. Romney/Ryan, the house and the senate GOP. God bless and please vote.

Edward: "Mormons - including Romney - are held to a very high standard of ethics ". Being "mormon" myself, it used to bother me when a news reporter seemed to "take pains" to point out a certain perp was "lds"--and then it ocurred to me that maybe people expect MORE from us; ie, more good.

    • Edward

Many years ago I was in SLC on business (I am from the mid-West) and was in a setting with a man who walked around with a cup of coffee. I said to him (ok! I'm not the most honest person but sometimes it's just fun being onery) "I met a couple of young men that represent your Church and they are teaching me and my wife. I believe this is kinda the capital of the Mormon church - are you a Mormon?" He said, "Not a very good one". "Oh, really! After meeting those two representatives from your Church, I thought all Mormons lived a very circumspect life". I thought he was going to have a cow. He thought I was investigating the Church and he was going to be responsible for me not continuing my meetings with the missionaries. I wonder if he went home and held a family councel and said, "We are going to start living our faith the way we should". I hope so.
Hey! Don't tell me you are him. Ha, ha! I have fun with the gospel.

    • beagal

      Edward:
""We are going to start living our faith the way we should".
That was his "wake up call". I hope he re-evaluated his lifestyle.
No, I am not him. I'm not even male! (That would be a surprise for my husband of over 36 years!)
I remember, years ago, while attending Cypress College's Mortuary Science program (in southern California). I was one of three "mormons" in the class. A group of students and I went to lunch. They had their beer, and I had a glass of lemonade!

    • seronac

It's says the same thing in Deuteronomy... Shall we throw out the entire last half of the Old Testament and the New Testament?

    • Mary West

Let's throw Obama out so we can carry on with the works God expects of us.We will have the FREEDOM to read the BIBLE.

    • Mary West

Religion is man made.Hopefully people will vote their conscience and right from wrong. Religion aside; we will not have the FREEDOM to make a religious choice if Obama reaches his goal. Obama is Marxist or Muslim. He associates with the vermin of the world. His camp shows what he believes. The DNC had to "vote" about "allowing GOD on the platform. What does that tell us. He is evil, his wife has to be evil and all his company are anti-American. If "we are known by the company we keep" is true then, it is OBVIOUS who he is. It is criminal and horrible what Radical muslims are doing overseas but it may save FREE America. Support our Military. The are FREEDOM savers. They will do the right thing. All the way!

    • Freedom48

"I believe that God is one God, but three persons, God the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit". That's exactly what Mormon's believe. "My Christian doctrine comes from the Bible". That's also what Mormon's believe. The Bible is not a complete compilation, as it references many books of scripture not included in the Cannon, also the admonition to not add to the book appears to be referring to the Book of Revelation, which was not the last book written, only the last book in the Cannon. I would purport that it's more important to find what God believes than what each of us believes. An honest seeker of truth will look to God in prayer and study to determine Christ's Doctrine.

    • scorpionf89

Check this out if you look in the old testment you will find their are several instances of writers saying do not add. Seckond the bible was compiled of a bunch of books that the Cathics some 1500 years ago decied should be included some of whice have been excluded from the king james bible. Third you seem to agree with The church of Jesus Christ of laterday saints when it comes to the holy trinidy being 3 seprate indavijuals. If you don't want to belive in Josph Smith that is your right but please don't dis on my religion just so you can have some thing to hate. Expeshaly if your doing it with lack of knolage of history.

    • GONESURFING

I am supporting Romney because he will help to restore America and at least slow down Americas' progression downward and uphold Godly principles. I don't hate anyone in you're church and am pretty sure that wherever we go in the next life, we will both be there together. Jesus is Lord.

      WHY MORMONS ARE NOT CHRISTIANS?

First: Mormons do not follow or believe in the historic Jesus Christ of the Bible, but rather in a difference Jesus. This is why most Biblical Christians emphatically insist that Mormons are not Christians. Let me explain.

The god of the Mormons is not the God of the Bible. To the Mormons, Jesus is the firstborn son of an exalted “man” who became the god of this world. The man-god of Mormonism was made the god of this world because of his good works on another planet somewhere out in the universe. He “earned” godhood, and was thus appointed by a counsel of gods in the heavens to his high position as the god of planet Earth. The Mormon god of this world was a man, like all men, who became a god. This is what the celestial marriage and the temple vows are all about. LDS men, by doing their temple work, are striving for exaltation by which they, too, shall one day become gods. Their wives will be the mother goddesses of “their” world and with their husband will produce the population of their world. This is the Mormon doctrine of “eternal progression.”

Note the following quote from the Mormon Journal of Discourses, vol. 1, page 123, made by the LDS Apostle Orson Hyde:

“Remember that God, our heavenly Father, was perhaps once a child, a mortal like we ourselves, and rose step by step in the scale of progress, in the school of advancement; has moved forward and overcome, until He has arrived at the point were He is.”

Lorenzo Snow, late President of the Mormon church, made this statement in the second verse of his famous poem entitled, “Man’s Destiny”:

      “As Abra’m, Isaac, Jacob, too,
babes, then men--to gods they grew.
      As man now is, our God once was;
As now God is, so man may be,--
      Which doth unfold man’s destiny. . .”

The God of the Bible is not an exalted man. The God of the Bible is omnipresent, omnipotent, and omniscient. The Bible says He is the only God and there are no other Gods. He had no beginning or end and he is a spirit being and never was a man.

Note the clear teaching of the Bible as to who the real God is:

Numbers 23:19, “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”

Psalms 102:26-27, “They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed: But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.”

Isaiah 43:10-11, “Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.”

Isaiah 44:6, “Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.”

Isaiah 44:8, “Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.”

Isaiah 45:21-22, “Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me. Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.”

Jeremiah 23:24, “Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.”

Malachi 3:6, “For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.”

John 1:16-18, “And of his fullness have all we received, and grace for grace. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.”

John 4:24, “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

Romans 1:22, “Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.”

Colossians 1:15, “Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:”

1 Timothy 1:17, “Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.”

1 Timothy 6:16, “Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.”

Clearly, Mormonism’s god is not the God of Christianity who is the God revealed to us in the Bible. The Mormon god is a god formed from the imaginations of Joseph Smith, and in truth is a false, non-existent god or idol.

Second: The Jesus Christ of Mormonism is not the Jesus Christ of the Bible.

The Mormon Jesus is the son of this man-god. The Mormon Jesus is the brother of Lucifer, and according to LDS teaching, he married several of the Marys of the New Testament. He is not, to the LDS church, “God incarnate” as the Bible plainly states. Clearly, the Mormon god and Jesus are not the true

    • GONESURFING

THE BASIS OF THE MORMON RELIGION IS THAT JESUS CAME TO NORTH AMERICA AND TAUGHT THE INDIANS. THE INDIANS SPEAK OF THE GREAT SPIRIT. THIS WAS THE RESURRECTED JESUS. THAT'S MORMON THEOLOGY BOTTOMLINED.

    • junkmailbin

The basis for the Latter Day Saints is belief in Jesus the Christ and that he is the Savior. The religion functions on this principle. Christ is centeral to all worship and actions
It would be nice if some people read the doctrine rather than relying on word of mouth or very biased conjecture

    • SpudPicker

If you have any doubts about the Mormon claim that Jesus came to the American continent, get the book 'He Walked The Americas' by L. Taylor Hanson. The author went to many tribes and to Hawaii to gather stories of the the "White Bearded Prophet" that came and taught the ways of peace.
You might also look in the Bible where Jesus says "I have sheep ye know not of..." which was, I believe, a reference to the people of the Americas.
The people that wrote the Book of Mormon left Jerusalem in 600 B.C. and made their way here. That book is a record of their journey, trials and tribulations until the books were sealed and hidden.
You may also want to go to the library and get a book called 'Visions of The Latter Days.' In it you will find a vision of a Catholic Priest by the name of Lucious Gration (Pg. 7) who saw the coming of a new religion. He said in part: "The old time gospel with the gifts thereof are lost. False doctrines prevail in every church and in every land...." It was written sometime about 100 years before Joseph Smith found the records of the people that wrote the Book of Mormon.
Do your homework, don't languish in ignorance and disbelief.

    • PoorPitifulPearl

      Close, but rather sketchy.

    • Kelsie

The most important part of the Book of Mormon is that it is a second witness of the divinity of Jesus Christ.

    • 44rd11

well, here is another spouting what he knows nothing about - obviously John T Fox has NOT read the Book of Mormon.

John, as a Mormon I can tell you that your statement is only half true. Do we believe that Jesus came to the Americas after his resurrection and taught the ancestors of what we today call American Indians...YES. Is this the basis for our religion...NO. Do we believe that the "Great Spirit: of the Native Americans is the "resurrected Jesus"...NO. Is that the Mormon religion bottom-lined...NOT BY ANY STRETCH. Before you make comprehensive statements about an entire religion it would behoove you to do your homework first. For a FREE copy of the Book of Mormon to read it for yourself go here: http://mormon.org/free-book-of-mormon. When the book is delivered you will have the option of asking our Missionaries any questions about our faith that you might like and getting the truth from us instead of third parties. I challenge you and everyone who has questions about the faith of Mitt Romney or Mormons to do this.

    • beagal

"option of asking our Missionaries any questions about our faith that you might like and getting the truth from us instead of third parties."
True! If I wanted to learn about Catholicism, I wouldn't go to a Buddhist!

Thank you. As a minister , this is not a vote for religion but a vote for saving OUR country and which of the 2 can do it. One has shown he can't understand how to run the country. and the other has shown that he can make jobs and run a big business.
A third party has NO chance to get enough votes in this country and would pull away from the challenger.

    • alio

Thank you! To vote for Romney is to vote for a decent, fair and honest person. To vote again for obama is to get not only more of the same, but worst, because he promised he'd do things to make us a 3rd world country.
Sorry, I've traveled to many 3rd world countries, and I don't want it, No thanks.

I'd vote for Jesus every time, but we're voting for a president of the United States and I would take anyone besides obama. So bush did nothing about abortions, who do you think wants all the abortions they can give?????????? It's the man who supports Infanticide, and that ain't Romney.
Some of you people need to read your bibles and figure out what Jesus expects of us. We choose the best, not the worst of the lot.
My vote goes for Mitt Romney, an honest and good man. Not the Marxist who believes in abortions and same sex marriage and worse.

and that is why he is all for letting all these illegal trespassing foreign nationals (illegal aliens to you) stay? Kill of the American citizens and start another nation with Mexicans who have left their country because it is what it is - and they will turn this land into another Mexico?

    • Piltdown911

1994 - Romney stated, "I believe abortion should be
safe and legal in this country."

2002 - While in Massachusetts, Romney quipped, "I will
preserve and protect a woman's right to choose.

2005 - Once again in liberal Massachusetts, Romney spoke
these words, "I am actually committed to MY PROMISE to maintain the status quo with regards to laws related to abortion and choice.

      Romney:

      - authorized tax-funded surgical elective abortion.

      - advocated grisly research on embryos.

      - nominated a pro-abort Democrat judge.

      - gave Planned Parenthood a permanent seat on a state board
after he claimed a pro- life conversion.

    • hlnaizer

Whether Romney supports abortion or he doesn't means nothing. He ALONE can't change what the Supreme Court has ruled (even though abortion is murder). It will take the NATION, that you and me, to make that change. How you ask? We must elect representatives, Senators and Congressman, to pass a law that says 'abortion is murder' no different than a robber killing a 7-eleven clerk. And then only approve men/women to the Supreme Court who also value life.

If that doesn't work we, followers of Jesus Christ, must mobilize to a greater extent than the Islamist have mobalized in their countries in open
      revolt against our government.

    • Piltdown911

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ONFdRswIR4k

Voting the lesser of two evils will get us nothing but more
evil. The time to mobilize would have been during the primaries, studying the
records of all of the candidates and ignoring what mainstream pundits had to
say about them and think logically for yourself. If we do elect someone, we
need to hold their feet to the fire, letters, phone calls, personal
appearances, whatever. Nobody does that anymore, I see more passion from
football fans than I do from people when it concerns our future and the future
of this Republic (especially among so-called Christians).

    • Piltdown911

Romney IS a Marxist who believes in abortions and same sex marriage and worse.
"I am actually committed to my promise to maintain the status quo with regards to laws related to abortion and choice." - Romney

      Romney also:
      • funded abortion statewide through taxpayer monies
      • opposed a Massachusetts Defense of Marriage Constitutional amendment
•said homosexuals should be allowed in the boy scouts
•officially celebrated "Gay-Straight Youth Pride Day"
      • sat on the board of directors for a leading purveyor of pornography without opposing the corporation's exploitation of women
      • instituted homosexual marriage in Massachusetts

    • Turquois

Nonsense. Romney is no Marxist, but Obama is...

    • Piltdown911

From gun control to universal healthcare, you can bet he is just as bad as Obama.

    • Turquois

Romney may be a liberal Republican, but that is a far cry from a Marxist who as Dinesh clearly explains in his excellent film "2016: Obama's America" will do his best to reduce the USA to second or third world status.

That can't be said about Romney.

I suspect this means that you'll be voting for Ron Paul (lol!) or not voting at all. Which means to say that you'll be voting for Obama and the resultant destruction of the Republic.

    • Piltdown911

2016 is merely neocon propaganda, I watched it and was amazed
at all of the things that are blamed on Obama that previous presidents,
including the republican ones, should get credit for. Not only that but things
that republican members of congress voted for as well, were blamed solely on
Obama. Hell, he was even blamed for things that were occurring since before he
was born. Obama does deserve plenty of blame, but let's be honest about it, and
give blame where blame is due. Romney is not innocent either. I'll not be voting for an evil lesser that much is certain.

    • Turquois

You saw the film and typed a ridiculous comment like that? I'm going to call bee ess on that. You didn't see the film.

Neocons?!?! Why don't you just come out of the closet and admit to being a lefty Obama supporter? At least we could respect you for being honest.

    • Turquois

Interesting read. Too bad it's nonsense. Although, I'm not surprised that Lew Rockwell would write a review of D'Souza's film chocked full of red herrings, which completely ignores the central premise of the film. Rockwell is so bowled over by his obsessive search for neo-Con shenanigans under every rock, that he can't see what's right in front of him.

The fact that you've sent me this link only seems to prove that I was right. You didn't see the film.

Do you want to read an excellent and very insightful op ed on D'Souza's film and learn something about Obama in the process? Try this one on for size, but you'll have to bring your whole brain to this one...

    • Piltdown911

Well I can’t say the same for your article, it was rambling
on about one small aspect of the 2016 film (which I saw at 4:50 PM on September
9, 2012 and paid $6.64 plus $.37 tax). If he wouldn’t have mentioned the film
or D'Souza I wouldn’t have seen the connection. As a side note I watched “Dreams
of my Real Father” and found that to have far more documentation than 2016, and
if true (which it looks that way) would nullify a great deal of 2016.

It would appear that the statement: “It’s hard to accept the
truth, when the lies were exactly what you wanted to hear.” could pertain to
you. 2016 blames things on Obama that were in progress before he took office,
one must face the realization that perhaps their precious Republicans are just
as corrupt as the evil Democrats – which they are. Take Romney for example, he
as governor has done or come out in support of practically all of Obama’s
policies. Our “conservative” representatives in my home state seem to dedicate
their lives to unconstitutional liberty-robbing legislation. Ryan voted yes on
TARP (which he even begged for), additional billions in “stimulus” and bailouts
including the ones for GM and Chrysler, the Patriot Act, the NDAA, and so on,
none of the criminals on the hill uphold their oath of office.

“Rockwell is so bowled over by his obsessive search for
neo-Con shenanigans under every rock, that he can't see what's right in front
of him.” That IS what’s right in front of him, the GOP is run by them,
unconstitutional, big government, big spending, warmongering, freedom-hating,
RINOs. The very same ones who are trying to pass their justly deserved blame
unto someone else (not saying that Obama doesn’t deserve blame) using
propaganda such as 2016, steering the masses away from reality.

    • Piltdown911

Any vote for Romney is a vote for the current status quo and would change NOTHING... Rationalize it all you want , but that is the ultimate truth.

    • moonwinx

Idiot. You just like to see your words on thei blog. Moy don't make very much sense!

    • Piltdown911

You ignore Romney's record as anything but a constitutional conservative and in line with Obama, then call me an idiot? "Moy don't make very much sense!" [sic]

    • moonwinx

I apologize your not an idiot. Your a complete obnoxioux idiot who likes to hear hem/her self talk. Just count how many times you've entered comments. Your pathetic!

    • 44rd11

That is a lie, and totally untruthful. A vote for Obama is a vote for Obama, a vote for Romney is a vote against Obama, a vote for anyone else MAY lead to Obama garnering the requisite number of Electoral College votes - but they are NOT votes for Obama.

    • 44rd11

      What is a "neocon"?

    • Piltdown911

Take the worst aspects of the liberal and conservative
positions and combine them into one and you would have a Neocon. Originally
used to describe left-wing socialists who crossed the floor, neocons are on the
authoritarian right, rather than the traditionally conservative constitutional right,
big government borrow-and-spenders. Many neocons tout militarism as their
single issue, they tend to be very pro-war and adopt the mentality of
"We're better than the constituency and we know it."

    • 44rd11

The "Republic" has destroyed itself from within - just as every great nation and government always was responsible for it's demise through corruption and a degenerate populace. Oh yes, someone came in and did the physical job of demolishing them - but generally - it was their own internal corruption that allowed for that to happen.

    • 44rd11

Piltdown911 doesn't even know what a marxist or a socialist is.

    • Turquois

Piltdown doesn't really care about the dangers of Marxism/Socialism. They are irrelevant to him. He's obsessed with all the NeoCons he believes are fomenting destruction around the world (lol!). Piltdown is likely such a nut that he thinks 9/11 was an inside job, in addition to believing all sorts of other lunatic conspiracy theories.

When one is so obsessed with nonsense, how can one possibly see the truth?

    • StGabes

Honestly dude, no one really likes romney but he is 1000 times better then obama.... If he gets elected he should only be 1 term too.. This election is about getting the commie in chief out of the WH.

    • Piltdown911

Romney is NO better and if given a chance will further prove it.

    • GONESURFING

Sorry, you are wrong, Romney would be way better for America.

    • PASSTHEWORD

Well we know where O is headed, so let's try Romney and see if you are correct..

    • Piltdown911

Promote abortion? (Even funded in Romneycare!)
      Enact homosexual marriage? (Too late.)
      Debt spending? (Unh uh.)
      Support gun restrictions? (Already done.)
      Pass socialist health care? (Romneycare?).
Name liberal Democrats to the court? (Been there, done that!)
Recommend Israel give up land to the Arabs for promises of peace? (Yes he did.)
      Support taxpayer bailouts? (Forgot TARP?)
Support "climate change" legislation? (Got it covered!)
Support illegal aliens becoming citizens? (He sure does.)
We can already see Romney taking the same road.

    • PASSTHEWORD

Your Answer??? What do we do??? Sit home and allow Obama who has usurped our constitution time and time again to have 4 years with out the bridle of re-election restricting his actions? Do we stand like the pharisee and proclaim how thankful we are not to be like other men for not voting Romeny or do we make the best choice we can??? You take your road and I'll take mine. You don't answer to me nor I to you. I will be judged by one far greater than anyone on this site... I will have no issue voting Romney in this situation. Romans 13 The one God wants to win will win.

    • Piltdown911

"The one God wants to win will win." Obama must have been God's choice then in '08, and it's looking like he's choosing him again. In reality God will allow us to go down the road of our choosing, and it looks like our choice is not going to go well, because our best choice is behind us, we have chosen Barabbas.

    • seniorchiefpaul

You're right, Barabbas (the criminal) was chosen. Not only is he NOT qualified to be a leader, he has spent millions to hide his past from the public. You're wrong when you say that Obummer was God's choice, and right when you say that God will allow us to go down the road of our choosing, because, in the beginning, He gave man dominion over the earth and everything in it. He will only intervene when His people pray and ask Him to change the hearts of men. I don't think there was very much prayer before the 2008 elections, so God didn't intervene. He allowed what was (or wasn't) asked for. Do you think that it was God's will that a person who caters to Islam would be elected to lead this nation? There are many things that happen in this world that are not God's will. It's God's will that all should be saved, but are all saved? NO. There are MANY examples of events that are not His will, but man's actions and indulgences in greed & selfishness have swayed the course of human events, because evil is alive and well. BUT, there are MANY of us praying that a moral, decent man would lead us in the next four years, and I know that He will answer our prayers.
Obummer claims to be Christian, but Jesus told us to examine a man by his fruit (his actions and results). O's actions and results have been anything BUT Christian, and everyone knows in their heart that it's true. And if we look at it from the secular point of view, we are far WORSE than we were four years ago.

    • Piltdown911

By Barabbas I was referring to Romney. Do you think that it
was God's will that a person who caters to Mormonism would be elected to lead
this nation? “there are MANY of us praying that a moral, decent man would lead
us in the next four years, and I know that He will answer our prayers.” He did
in ‘08 but was ignored, again in ‘12 and was ignored again, now we have
      nothing.

    • moonwinx

As I see it what does religion mean. The man lives by the ten commandments. what the hell more do you want?

    • Piltdown911

"The man lives by the ten commandments."
"Thou shalt have no other gods before me." - Not that one.
"Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain" - Shaky.
"Thou shalt not kill." Romneycare violates that one, a rather large one too, don't you think?

    • Piltdown911

"Honestly dude, no one really likes romney..." How on God's green earth did he get the nomination? I smell a rat and always have smelled a rat.

    • drig

Piltdown911. False analogy. If there is one person that likes Romney then your analysis premise if false. So it is false. You say you have always smelled a rat. Another rule of logic- people that say always are speaking a false premise. And denying modern prophets, you cannot declare yourself to be prophetic either. Just look at the economy, the facts, the hidden family ties, and the hidden agenda of Obama, then vote logically.

    • Piltdown911

One person does not make a majority nomination. I have looked at the hidden agenda of Romney and found him to be as Soros put it - not much different from Obama. It is not logical to vote one out only to replace him with a clone.

    • PASSTHEWORD

      So vote Obama...

    • Piltdown911

If I don't like Romney, what makes you think I would vote for his clone?

    • 44rd11

Romney has a hidden agenda ?? Romney has only one agenda - to be president - and that's why I'm voting against Obama and NOT for Romney. - does that make sense to you. This is a guy who says to himself and all of us - "I" can do it. Obama has already said he cannot and he needs four more years to drive our economy deeper in the dirt and bow a few more times to Muslim Royalty.

Yes, you do smell a rat - it's called the establishment Republican Party. but regardless - there are still only two choices - Romney or Obama - you waste your vote for anyone else.

But you left one very important point off your list...Desires to be Dictator to the whole world (Nope...not on your tintype). And that's what makes him a better choice. All those other things can be overcome, but a dictatorship is removed only with a war in which millions are killed. Vote Romney!!!!!

    • Piltdown911

You're right I forgot Romney has the same desires for power as Obama.

No Obamney/RYNO – more of same.

Romney is running to become dictator to the world as well. He has hired all Bush advisors and they will be bossing the whole world around with the threat of the US military behind him. Right, Romney supported and still supports in some instances killing them off before they get out of the womb. Very sad. OH and Romney was the guy that actually legallized homosexual 'marriage' in MASS. Might want to rethink things a bit.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000411105315 Bob Pisaturo

The Massachusetts LEGISLATURE (Full Democrat majority), not Mitt Romney, passed same sex marriage and had the votes to override his veto. He was personally against it but did not allow his personal morals to enter into his job as governor,

    • Piltdown911

Romney opposed a Massachusetts Defense of Marriage Constitutional amendment, said homosexuals should be allowed in the boy scouts, and officially celebrated "Gay-Straight Youth Pride Day".

Romney also wrote a letter to the Log Cabin Republicans (National gay and lesbian Republican grassroots organization) stating,
"We must make equality for gays and lesbians a mainstream concern."

    • 44rd11

wrong - he did not "legalize it" his administration permitted and forced it on those that were authorized to perform marriages. http://massresistance.org/docs/marriage/romney/

    • Piltdown911
    • cama9

@alio Romney is neither good nor honest. He stole the election through election fraud by rigging the voting machines. During the convention in Tampa, he and his GOP cohorts wouldn't allow the 7 states to nominate Ron Paul when they had all their papers ready to do so. Also, before and during the convention, Romney had Ron Paul's delegates disqualified for no reason other than he wanted an 'appearance' of unity at 'his' convention. When news of what the rules changes were going to be, Romney prevented the man who was heading up the team to stop the rules changes from getting to the convention center in time by deliberately detaining the bus he was on. Romney has Michael Chertoff as his Security Advisor, the guy who gave our country the naked body scanners because he, Chertoff, is some bigwig in the company. Chertoff wants the TSA and naked body scanners extended to all malls, stadiums and schools and will advise Romney to do so and Romney will. Romney loves the power he will have (if he wins) with the NDAA and I have no doubt that Romney will throw anyone who comes out against him into the FEMA camps. And Romney intends on starting WWIII by attacking Iran. The truth is, though, that America is going to crash and burn regardless of which dolt gets into the WH next year.

    • Edward

Hey! I believe we have someone on the inside - cama9 - that has inside information on Romney stealing the nomination. Guys! This is not speculation; this comes straight from the horses mouth.
I tell you that cama9 saw Romney behind the scene destroying the ballots and screaming "two if by sea and one if by land. No! make that three if by air and two if by land. No! Make that . . . Oh what the hell". And then cama9 saw Romney swinging from a rope from the balcony of the convention center screaming "Me Tarzan, where's Jane?".
Thank you cama9 for your revelation of the real Romney. By the Way! Aren't you the one that reported Big Foot was stalking the senate floor while the senate was in session? I remember you and the white coats that were chasing you with butter-fly nets. Unfortunatly, they didn't catch you. You are one slippery dude.

    • Blaffles Blaffles

I think you need to check Romney's actual record a little better if you think he is against abortion or same sex marriage. He has no problem with lying, stealing or murdering at all. He is hiring all the Bush nabobs so they can search the world with their war machines to kill as many innocents as they can. Good luck with that.

    • John Hand

Since you said you'd vote for Jesus every time, think about this. If he came to us today and walked and talked about, some people might call him a 'Hippy.' Just joking. But I do have an excellent comeback for those so called greenies, the ones that are responsible for $5 gas in California for instance. When they comment on your big SUV or whatever car you drive that supposedly uses more gas than their Prius or bicycle, and they ask..."What would Jesus drive?' Here is the reply I have come up with....A TWELVE PASSENGER VAN. Think about it.

    • Conservative Carl

Guess we can still blame George Bush for everything. Bill, just how is voting for Mitt Romney helping to send a million plus souls to hell? We're voting for a president, not a church leader, and we can still witness to Mormons or anyone about the truth of the gospel of Christ. Be sure you write in JESUS for president on your ballot, but I don't think He will accept the job. We are the instruments of righteousness as Christians, the hands and feet God uses on this earth. I've read that in 2008 30 million Christians didn't bother to vote and that is why we have the mess we have now. AND if that 30 million had voted in the Republican primary of 2008 we'd have had a better candidate than John McCain.

    • Esther Mae Egan

I agree. I also feel that it is God's people holding back the healing of America or any other country where Christians live. God says if we confess our sins he will heal. We have for to long put God down in our thoughts and lives. The very fist commandment is to have no other god before God. We have done just that in simple settle ways we put our jobs, cars, houses, money, pets, family etc. ahead of God and He wants to be number one. Evil is still evil. God gave me a thought today. Different ones are saying vote for Romney just to get Obama out and then we will work on Romney. Will to answer that. If I put poison in a glass of water how much do I drink before it affects me, and how much water will I need to add to get rid of the poison. We have killed babies because that way we can go on living and accumulating without that burden.

    • PASSTHEWORD

So sit home and do nothing.. That is the answer of of all the sef-righteous who are posting here. You do what you can as you can.. The spiritual problems of America will not be solved by not voting Romney. Her problems go much deeper and America is headed for tough times as God's judgement comes. I would rather have a man that understands the concept of family values than the mockery we have now. America's problems will not be resolved until as you quoted Christians confess their sins and right their lives. Then true Hope and Chnage will begin.
Spiriyualizing the election serves no purpose but to ease a sinful heart.

and Obama will do better? You have a choice - Obama and a quick end to your freedoms - even your Christianity - or Romney - who has the ability to turn the country around economically - with the help of a Congress that works at it. Every nation and every person is under judgment - there is no way out of judgement - ALL have sinned and come short of the Glory of God - Jesus told and showed the way to salvation - God will judge how you worked towards it. Faith without works is dead.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Kathleen-Craigie/100000164807155 Kathleen Craigie

You are so right.... I made the very same point about voting a third party being a total waste....on a story about black pastors urging their congregations not to vote at all, which I believe is ALSO giving the election over to Obama on a silver platter, so to speak.....Why wouldn't they tell their congregations to search their hearts and vote for the person who really is BEST for America and for ALL her people.... NOT just the "special interest" groups so favoured by the Left-wing....

I was totally attacked by someone who had the same attitude that because THEY were against both parties, that NOBODY should vote -- period... esp. for Mitt Romney, because he is a Mormon.... I was accused of not even being a Christian... like this person even KNOWS me at all..... just because I took issue with their idea that we shouldn't vote for either. I was threatened and thrown out of the group just for ASKING the simple question... WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO????

Well. Obama has, to me, both Muslim and Marxist leanings in the very core of his thinking and actions....and I AM very afraid of what a second Obama term would mean for our country and for EVERY American citizen. His concern is for illegals and islamists before the well being and security of our country..... and there is NO WAY I am voting for him, which would cause SOME on the Left to call me "RACIST", of course, but so be it. I know the truth. I refuse to play into their RACE BAITING intimidation garbage!!

    • Gwen2K

Ignorant people rail against the dark too, Kathleen. An abstain is a vote for the evil in the office now. As I have said before, Abram wasn't a "Christian" either. When God chose him, all the good he did was "counted to him as righteousness". You made gooooood points above. Go girl, and hope people turn on their lights.

    • windeaces

I don't agree with the teaching of mormon but if those condemning mormons would look at some of the beliefs of churches that supposedly are protestant one will see that mankind has a tendancy to change what God's Word says to meet their own needs. All mankind will one day stand before God to be judged or not. His Word says, "judge not lest ye be judged." We can only look at what a person does in his life and hope it is what we would have him live by. If not, his outcome is not left for our decision. We will only be judged by our lives and what we accepted as good in the sight of God and how we represent that in our daily lives.

    • http://www.facebook.com/john.nicoletti.54 John Nicoletti

Hello Kathleen. It is all about color, my dear, and color only. Unfortunately. our black ministers, are so hypocritical in their thinking, to tell their people to stay home and not cast a vote, has to be so repulsive to most clear thinking Black Americans. My goodness, we fought a war over this nonsense, and a the black clergy would encourage that behavior, just to guarantee, that a black man would remain President. Is it any wonder, why race relations are so strained, since the Obama presidency. The great divider, has accomplished one goal. Blacks still hate whites..

    • http://twitter.com/jude83268949 jude

blacks voted for clinton, bush[2], ford, reagan, kennedy, but all of a sudden they are color blind to what is the best choice for them, and white potus has always looked out for the blacks, what has this black potus done for them? A few more bucks on their welfare check a few more bucks on their EBT card, how is that helping them get out to do better for themselves and their race. They are still on that plantation waiting for the master to hand out their earnings for being such good little helpers.

    • Robert Norwood

We have a choice and it's not the lesser of two evils as some like to put it. I don't know all the intracies of Mormonism and don't care - they've never bothered me or anyone else as far as I know. I don't really care what people believe as long as they are decent and honest.

    • toddschul

Actually, it depends on whom the person would have voted for if they hadn't abstained (or voted third party). 97% (or so) of Black Americans who voted last time, voted for Obama. If those people abstain it's a vote against Obama, not against Romney. In other words, an abstain is not as good as a vote for Romney but it's better than what they did last time which is vote for Obama.

    • kalamawashington

In relation to what the Black Pastors organization said. What you said was my first reaction, too. But since Obama got 95% of that black vote, and if you extrapolate that to the Churches, that means that 95% of them would have voted for Obama. So, that suggestion might not be such a bad thing. I will agree that maybe they should have said, since Obama has taken the stance he has, don't vote for him, but if you feel that you must vote, vote for Romney. Just a thought.

There is something called entrisic evil, which is evil in all circumstances no exceptions. A Christian never votes FOR things that are entrinsiclly evil. 1. A Christian is compelled to protect life from conception until natural death. 2. A Christian votes for a candiate that defends the constituional right to worship and practice your faith without reprisals from the government. 3. A Christian votes for whomever will enforce DOMA (Defence of Marriage ACT), which is already on the books. These are deal breakers no matter what faith the candidate may be.
In my mind, most black congregations have very conservative values when it comes to # 2,3 ( marriage and religious worship). I hope the black community will wise up enough to realize that most of the children that are being murdered in the womb are children of color. The Democrats are NOT for the black man. They want to kill them before they are born if they can. If they don't catch them that way, then they put them on welfare and keep them out of the way that way.
The Democratic party has become a party of white, weathy, highly educated elitest. That does not describe most Americans in my mind.

    • Disgusted

Why are you chewing flyguy out for his post? It soundsn like you and he agree with each other, unless I don't understand your post.

    • Coleky48

This is exactly what the Minister said!! He sees the Obama admin. as evil, hence will vote for Romney, despite the fact he is a Mormon. Why would you question the Minister's sincerity?

    • JoDunn

As a minister you should also understand that this is only a stop gap measure because when and only when those who are called by His name humble themselves and pray (repent) for this land to be restored, then and only then will we hear from Heaven with this country being healed ! signed an Andrew in the ministry !

    • makrov

Romney was not my first choice but that is the choice we have. 100 times better than what we have now.

    • Raymond

Since Joseph Smith founded Mormonism, many changes have been made to make it look more Christian. As recent as 1978, Mormon leaders eliminated the ban on black men in their priesthood. The practice of polygamy was one of the things that got them in so much trouble with their neighbors soon after their founding. Joseph Smith had a couple dozen wives. Mormon leaders officially renounced polygamy in 1890 but splinter groups still practice it. Mormonism is constantly changing. Each new prophet has the authority to nullify previous teachings including the Bible.

In 1996, Mormon leaders reworked the official logo to put more emphasis on Jesus Christ in their name. Presidential candidate Mitt Romney attempted to look more “Christian” by stating: “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Savior of mankind.” However, he added a qualification: “My church’s beliefs about Christ may not all be the same as those of other faiths

    • Sandy Krytus

My question (that only God can answer) is, even though they have different doctrine, does their acknowlegement of Jesus Christ as the Son of God and their faith in Him as their Savior fulfill the Biblical requirement for salvation? If so, then people are concluding that all the other doctrine not in line with traditional churches is somehow counteracting that simple faith in Jesus. If no, then are we redefining what the Bible teaches about the condition of the heart towards the Lord regarding salvation?

    • Raymond
    • voncile fullwood

there should be only one Faith, one doctrine and that is the true word of God and what the inspired men that wrote the Bible and he God said "quote " Rev. 19' let no men add or take away from the Scriptures for He will take away his part from the Book of Life but His word teaches the way of Salvation and what to do to be reborn into the family of God

    • bernie

We are voting for a person to get us out of this hell hole that obummer put us in, not for a priest, minister, preacher or the likes, as long as Mitt /Ryan can help to solve this mess then so be it.

    • wordwiz

What is wrong with change if it is for the better? When this country was founded, only white MEN who owned property could vote. Now, black men, women, and those without property ownership can.
I judge policies by the criteria, "If everyone did this, would it be beneficial or harmful?"
If everyone practiced abortion or homosexuality, it would be the end of the human race. These two practices have been at the top of the Obama agenda since day one.
The Mormon church does not practice nor condone polygamy and hasn't for over a century. And even if they did, what great harm would this have on our country?
I guess if we want to eliminate a Mormon for office based on their former practices, we would have to eliminate Jews as well, because polygamy was also a part of their history.
And while we are about it, why don't we eliminate Catholics? They pray to idols and the Virgin Mary.
Then when we have eliminated all of those with the "wrong" religion, we can eliminate women, blacks and everyone who doesn't own property. And go back to not letting them vote, either -- We should never have changed that.
I could go on, but I think you get the picture. There may not be anyone on this earth that measures up to your standards, but someone will be elected in November.
Do you want that someone to be the "One" who has been promoted by his followers as the Messiah, yet believes wholeheartedly in the murder of babies and homosexual unions?
Or do you want that someone to be one who has lived a wholesome life, and may help to turn us from our path of destruction?
I know one thing: One is trying his best to destroy our Christian faith and morals and one is not.

    • http://twitter.com/jude83268949 jude

I remember the talk about Kennedy when he was running, OMG he is catholic he will force everyone to become catholics and believe like he does and rule by the vatican, but he went on to win the POTUS, I do believe had he lived to fulfill his term he would have been a great president. I feel the same way about Romney, I believe he will be a better potus than what we now have, and work for the people not against us.

    • PASSTHEWORD

      YOur point???

    • Esther Mae Egan

The only reason a third party candidate wont win is because we do not vote for them. What do you think Hosea 8:4 means? God is interested in men and women that want to follow Him. Romney made it possible for homosexual leaders in the Boy Scouts, has he apologized for that. Look what is happening today because of the abuse of little boys. I understand we are all sinners, but like David he got down on his face and weep before God to save his son. I believe America is going though this because God's people have other gods ahead of God We have worshiped money and what it will buy. Just as the Democrats at their convention voted to put God back in, that was circumcising the foreskin not the heart. The Republicans need to circumcise their hearts as well. We go around calling ourselves Christian and how many of us are in name only. I pray daily that God will find me faithful. Will I be one of those who will stand before God and say "Lord, Lord, didn't I do this and that? He will say to me depart from me I never knew you". If there are as many Christians as I hear if we got together and voted for a righteous man or woman God would honor that and heal our land. We as Christians need to vote for the best by asking God to lead us. If you think Romney is the best then talk to God about it. What ever we do lets put God back on the throne of our hearts and honor Him. Ultimately, it is God that puts men up and He takes them down. Circumcise our hearts not just a piece of foreskin.

    • alio

Don't know how to answer this, except to say you seem to be very interested in circumcision and foreskin.
Don't you think if the "right" type Christian ran, we'd vote for him or her?

Honey, I don't need to talk to God about Romney, because I'd rather have him THAN a man who wants abortions and voted in favor of late term abortion (killing a baby when head appears) and if it happens to live, throw it in the closet to expire. Not only this, but he's a believer in Marxism (horrors) and will take this country to hell & back.

No, I don't think God wants that for us in any condition.. As for little boys being abused, which church had a rash of priests who abused little boys? Seems to be in many areas of our lives, teachers, coaches, priests, sick people who lay in wait for children............... it isn't just the Boy Scouts for goodness sake, it's all around us.
That why we must teach our children right from wrong and to speak out.
If, Ester Mae, you opened your eyes, you'd see what we're facing in the Presidential election. Romney was not my initial choice, but he's the most decent and competent of the two running in November.

    • PreacherCruz

Hello fellow servant! As a Christian minister myself I've struggled with what to do in voting and debated with some FIERCELY loyal Ron Paul supporters. My response to that was "IS There A Right Way To Vote? My Personal Response To Ron Paul Supporters." I hope some of you will read it http://kjv-truth-ministries.org/?page_id=658 God bless this nation and help us to turn it around!

    • http://www.facebook.com/forthe.purpose ForThe Purpose

When a U.S. President takes his oath of office, he swears to
"preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States."
He does not swear to be a good Protestant or Mormon or atheist. Since
we already know before we vote that a president's allegiance is to the
U.S. Constitution, why does anyone hold him accountable to anything
else? How well have the current presidential candidates preserved,
protected, and defended the U.S. Constitution throughout their political
careers? Have you done your due diligence to determine how
constitutionally each of them has voted, legislated, endorsed, or
enforced? While you're checking out that, there's no point in
considering anything other than other than their past behavior which is
the best indicator for future behavior. Forget campaign promises.
After all, these folks are vying for the most powerful position in the
world & will say whatever it takes to get them elected. Sorry if
that sounds cynical, but history confirms that few campaign promises are
kept except those which reflect the candidate's proven behavior.

So, when you're researching each candidate's record, don't forget
there are more than 2 political parties. You do want to vote for the
very best candidate, don't you? You wouldn't sacrifice your values or
conscience or professed principles merely for political expedience,
would you? For those who embrace the "lesser of 2 evils" strategy, you
also are willing to accept the responsibility for the evil, albeit
"lesser," for which you voted, yes? And just the hope of voting into
office the lesser evil is worth your compromise? For those who embrace
the "most electable" strategy, you wouldn't vote for Jesus or whoever is
your favored deity if he/she were deemed unelectable? So, you would
have no regrets about pledging loyalty to your revered god on the 1 hand
yet not voting for him/her--or their most worthy human
representative--for the sake of an election strategy that can not
      guarantee its results?

"The ‘main’ thing your vote affects is not the outcome of an election, but your own soul." -- Mark Shea

"Don't be fooled by a false dichotomy, a set of choices that is no
choice at all. There's always another way out." -- blog post

I read the article and thought it good. If Ron had won the primaries I would be voting for him. He needs to support the GOP majority.

    • Turquois

Is it that Obama "can't understand how to run the country" or that Obama has no respect for our Constitution and free Republic? He possesses a post-American, Marxist worldview that informs everything he does.

While at Occidental College he self-identified as a Marxist-Leninist (revolutionary communist). He hasn't changed all that much. Now he's just the lighter more tactically focused Cultural Marxist -- a Marxist dedicated to achieving his mission but through cultural infiltration and domination rather than bloody revolution.
Why fire one shot, when you can collapse the economy and take over the country while sitting in the oval office?
      A very dangerous man indeed.

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, "mormon".
I taught teenagers in sunday school for a few years.
One of the significant points I remember (and, there were many!) was that a member with a Temple Recommend has NO NEED to break the laws of the land.

I believe Romney is a current holder of an LDS Temple Recommend( documentation that a member has follow specific tenents for temple admittance).
Because he has served in some "high level" Church offices--pastor of a congregation, and as a Stake President (over congregations the size of a diocese), he obviously must have appreciated the additional spritual enlightenment he received through his Temple attendance.
Running for POTUS requires such enlightenment. He WILL NOT compel any person to become "mormon". People's agency is important.

Our "Thirteen Articles of Faith states in number twelve:
" 12 We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.

Mitt Romney is a God fearing man. Where does it say that he has to be a "Christian".
I believe in Jesus, But that is not the only thing that makes someone a "Christian".

How about Jesus Himself says so. "I am the Way the Truth and the Life. No man cometh unto the Father but by Me". The Mormons do not believe in a Biblical Jesus. They believe in and preach "another Christ" thus an anti-christ (the meaning of which is "another Christ".

Raymond, Please enlighten these sheeple about BOTH Obama and NOW Romney being the presidential picks of the Bilderbergs... I have put the facts on this site, and somehow... They got deleted ? Why? Because they are the truth... It won't matter which one of these puppets gets elected, The Bilderbergs will have their way, And as one of the 7 organizations to issue in the New World Order, Eithier one of these will join the United States into the NWO... This plan has been put into place for sometime now... And our former Secretary of State, Henry Kissinger Who is a Big Wig in that organiztion has said nuneral times that Obama WOULD be their President someday soon.... These FACTS have been openly announced in the Haaretz and many, many other press in Europe, Middle East and Asia, and by BOTH ministers Kack Van Impe and Hal Lindsey... Just NOT BY OUR LIBERAL PRESS ! Our ONLY hope to turn this country around... Is to pray that we get control of BOTH the House and Senate, And hold either one of these 2 at bay until 2016, If The Lord Tarries...Until we can Profit by our mistakes and elect a TRUE, God Fearing Christian to the office of the Presidency !!! God Help US !!! II Chronicles 7:14

Some other info I told Darryl about...Romney's connection to a Mormon owned company called "Stores Online", whose bad business practices were mysteriously buried by Fox, The FTC and former Attorney General of Ohio Cordrey, Now in Obama's cabinet in the position of Secretary of Consumers Affairs....Soo, Both Dems and Reps wouldn't care if he wins, because he will be their Bilderberg puppet...I have been hurt financially by my investment in that company, and there is lots of evedence to prove it....Romney Is NOT The Honest Businessman that he professes to be....The more I read On these sites....The more I realize how few will make it when Christ returns...They are all soooo willing to compromise their beliefs , and put their trust in man instead of God....

Also, call both ministers, Dr.Jack Van Impe and Rev. Hal Lindsey liars whike you are at it...Because they have proven these facts over and over on their shows with headlines from all over the world....But our liberal media is not telling us the truth ! Also....Do some research on a Mormon owned company called "Stores Online" if you can even find any...since I and a company called Business Recovery Services exposed them for scamming consumers on purchases of bad software....When I contacted Fox News about Mitt Romney's connection to this company that had been prohibited from conducting business in Australia and 10 states of the US and I was the 41st complaint in Ohio back in 2010.....Mysteriously ALL information disappeared from the FTC website ! Why ? Because this was BIGGER than the Bain Capital story...It was on an International level ! I KNOW From Personal Experience That Romney IS NOT What He Professes To Be ! Do YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE YOU OPEN UP YOUR MOUTH !

2 Timothy 31This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3Without natural affection, trucebreakers, falseaccusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 6For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. 9But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.

    • PreacherCruz

Here is a simple question. IS it likely that the young Joseph Smith, a boy whose family held to new agey spiritualist trappings like water and treasure dowsing would be SO holy or loved by God that he would be entrusted with the ultimate TRUTH? OR that all Christians before that time were completely wrong? That is what he said. That NO Church on Earth was serving God correctly and that HE was to be used to bring people to a "proper" relationship with God. This is Cult leadership 101. Many Mormons truly are wonderful people, same with the Witnesses and many more I could mention. Any man or church tradition that says MY way only and/or needs ANY additional writings is a cult imho. http://www.kjv-truth-ministries.org

    • Conserver

      I am a Christian!
But your statement is self accusing. "Any man or church tradition that says MY way only and/or needs ANY additional writings is a cult imho." Jesus himself said "I am the way." "No man comes to the Father but by me." By your standards, that too makes Christianity a cult. Quit pointing fingers and offer those who have strayed a way back.

    • PreacherCruz

Conserver, I always try to be approachable but if you read your post it is clear that you are starting from an emotional point. You should read what I said AGAIN. Jesus saying he IS the way the truth and the life is NOT the same as a mortal MAN saying that HE has the only real way to know God. If you can't see the difference there is little to be said. I would also point you to Matthew 7:21-23 Calling yourself a Car wouldn't make you one... IF a church or tradition is false should we not point it out?

    • http://www.facebook.com/darryl.rasmussen.5 Darryl Rasmussen

@Preacher....go ahead an question God all you want to. Don't know why he chose Joseph...fact is he did. He didn't text you before hand to get your OK? Bummer.

    • PreacherCruz

You're almost to cute to converse with! You crack a joke about God not texting me but then claim it is FACT that God came to the young Joseph Smith? In the words of Inigo Montoya "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means." Fact something known to be true: something that can be shown to be true, to exist, or to have happened..You can't even get all people to agree to the life and death of Jesus which IS factual. Funny that you accept that God appeared to Mr. Smith and revealed truths that NO one else was following even though Christianity was flourishing and the Bible was in circulation....

    • Al T

How can you possible say that, as you do not know anything about Mormanism as the name of the church is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and Jesus is the head or our church. We use the same bible that all christians use, the King James and to say that we do not believe in a Bibical Jesus is not the truth. You need to educate yourself to the Mormon Church and beliefs. Sorry you are misinformed.

    • Raymond

THE REASONS FOR DOUBTING JOSEPH SMITH’S ACCOUNT OF THE ORIGIN OF MORMONISM.

      1. Smith had a very poor reputation in his community. Many testimonies of the citizens were published in the 1800s after Smith founded the Mormon Church. The following examples are representative of dozens that were collected:

“I was acquainted with the family of Joseph Smith, Sen., both before and since they became Mormons, and feel free to state that not one of the male members of the Smith family were entitled to any credit, whatsoever. They were lazy, intemperate and worthless men, — very much addicted to lying. In this they frequently boasted of their skill.Digging for money was their principal employment. In regard to their Gold Bible speculation, they scarcely ever told two stories alike” (Parley Chase, affirmed before Frederick Smith, Justice of the Peace of Wayne County, Dec. 11, 1833).

“These circumstances and many others of a similar tenor, embolden me to say that Joseph Smith Jr., is not a man of truth and veracity; and that his general character, in this part of the country, is that of an impostor, hypocrite and liar” (Rev. Nathaniel C. Lewis, Methodist Episcopal Church, affirmed and subscribed, before Charles Dimon, Justice of the peace, March 20th, 1834, reprinted by Daniel Kidder, Mormonism and the Mormons, 1842)

“… Joseph Smith Jr., resided near me for some time after this, and I had a good opportunity of becoming acquainted with him, and somewhat acquainted with his associates, and I conscientiously believe from the facts I have detailed, and from many other circumstances, which I do not deem it necessary to relate, that the whole 'Book of Mormon' (so called) is a silly fabrication of falsehood and wickedness, got up for speculation, and with a design to dupe the credulous and unwary — and in order that its fabricators may live upon the spoils of those who swallow the deception” (affidavit of Isaac Hale, Joseph Smith’s father-in-law, affirmed to and subscribed before Charles Dimon, Justice of the peace, March 20th, 1834, reprinted by Daniel Kidder, Mormonism and the Mormons, 1842).

    • windeaces

We have avowed communist and muslims serving in our government. We have had many Americans murdered by both these groups because of their hate for this country. How many Americans do you know that have been murdered by mormons?

    • CalPaul1949

Many of those people gave far different statements later. These originally came from Hurlburt's book. If you go through and read the individual statements, you will see that those who claimed to be very well acquinted with Joseph Smith gave contradictory statements about his appearance and his character. One ridiculous statement is that "he bragged about being a great liar." Great liars don't call attention to the fact that they are liars.

As for the Book of Mormon being a silly fabrication; it is remarkable how well archeology in MesoAmerica and 16th century histories of the indians that were written by the Indians and Spanish priests corraborate what the Book of Mormon says as far as dates, events, and movements of the people. For instance, archeologists and the Indian histories tell us that in 350 A.D. the Maya living in the Chiapis valley gave up their lands and moved northward. The Book of Mormon says the same thing. Ixtlilxochitl, the grandson of an Aztec King, says that a man named Hueman was a prophet, head of the army, and the record keeper of his people. It was Hueman that made a treaty giving up their lands to save his people. In the Book of Mormon, the same story is recorded with the prophet being Mormon.

Incidently, these 16th century histories were lost in Spanish archives until the 1900's.

Myth #1: Reading the Book of Mormon will tell you all about Mormon doctrine.
The Book of Mormon fails to teach the unique doctrine Latter-day Saints feel is necessary to believe and practice in order to become gods.

Myth #2: The book of Mormon has been proven by archaeology.
To date, nothing has been found to verify Book of Mormon sites. In fact, many within the Mormon Church are beginning to abandon the idea that the Book of Mormon is a book of verifiable history. No credible archaeologist outside of the Mormon Church considers the book to have any New World archaeological value.

Myth #3: Brigham Young never taught Adam was God.
Not only did Brigham Young teach that Adam was Michael the Archangel, the Ancient of Days, he also taught that Adam was "our Father and our God, and the only God with whom we have to do."

He finished this message by saying, "Now, let all who may hear these doctrines, pause before they make light of them, or treat them with indifference, for they will prove their salvation or damnation." (Journal of Discourses 1:50,51). Notice Young called this teaching a "doctrine," not a "theory" as most Mormons like to refer to it today.

Myth #4: All of Joseph Smith's prophecies came to pass.
If that was true, Jesus would have returned in 1891 (Documentary History of the Church (DHC) 2:182), the Civil War would have poured out upon all nations (Doctrines & Covenants1:87:1-3); the wicked of Smith's generation would have been swept from off the face of the land (DHC 1:315); and a temple would have been built in Independence, Missouri by the generation living in 1832 (D&C 84:4,5).

Myth #5: Joseph Smith died as a "lamb led to the slaughter."
The fact is, Joseph Smith died in a gun battle using a pistol that was smuggled to him while incarcerated at Carthage jail. According to the DHC, Joseph Smith pulled this six-shooter from his pocket and "snapped the pistol six successive times; only three of the barrels, however, were discharged. I afterwards understood that two or three were wounded by these discharges, two of whom, I am informed, died" (John Taylor, Volume 7, pp. 102-103).

Myth #6: Polygamy was necessary in early Utah because there were more women than men.
The fact is there were more men than women in early Utah when polygamy was being practiced. Mormon Apostle John Widtsoe wrote on pages 390-91 of his book entitledEvidences and Reconciliations: "The most common of these conjectures is that the Church, through plural marriage, sought to provide husbands for its large surplus of female members. The applied assumption in this theory, that there have been more females than male members in the Church, is not supported by existing evidence. On the contrary, there seem always to have been more males than females in the Church… The theory that plural marriage was a consequence of a surplus of female church members fails from lack of evidence."

    • Jay

Ray, unfortunately, you don't know what you're talking about. You DO NOT speak for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It's so, so foolish for members of one church to attempt to say what another teaches or believes.

Raymond, you don't know what you are talking about. Your statement that there is absolutely no archeological evidence for the Book of Mormon is about 50 or 60 years out of date. Archeology has uncovered a ton of evidence about the Maya and the Olmecs: the dates of their civilizations, their movements, etc.

Archeologists tell us that in 126 B.C. a small group of people from the highlands of Guatemala (from the area of the ruins of Kalimanjuyu) went down into the Chiapis region and became their rulers, teaching them their written language. The Book of Mormon tells the same story with the same date.

The Book of Mormon also tells us that around 72 B.C. many cities were built in the north along the east sea. Mormon heavily fortified these cities. Many heavily fortified ruins have been found in the areas of Belize and the Petan.

Archeologists Schele and Freidel tell us that the people that inhabitied the ruins of Cerros "did decide concsciously to embrace kingship as an institution and the consequences of that decision were profound for all." They also tell us that the king who planned to bury himself in teh summit of the eastward-facing acropolis never occupied his sepulcher. . Likewise, a second sepulcher lies empty. They theorize that the two kings were killed in battle, and therefore never interred in their burial vaults. The Book of Mormon tells us of two kings, Amalekiah, and his brother Amaron, who were killed in battle. Cerros fits the location of the City of Mulek, which was the city where Amalekiah ruled. The dating is the same.
There are literally hundreds of such correlations. But there is not room here to detail them.

As far as Joseph Smith's prophecies, some are for the future. The one you mentioned were if certain events happened. The Lord knew that Joseph Smith would not live till his second coming. He was not ready to reveal to Joseph that his time was short, so he couched his response to Joseph with the words, "if you shall live to such and age you shall see my second coming." Joseph did not live to that age.

The prophecy on the Civil War did not say that the Civil War would spread to all nations. It said that war would. If you look at history, you will see that since the Civil War, there has continually been a war in some part of the world.

Give me a Morman over a muslim any day. Romney is a man of intergrity and honesty and yes, a Morman. Obama is a man of lies and deceit and disrespect for America with a communist agenda and yes, a muslim. I have never gone to either church, I cannot tell you what they believe, but I can tell you a vote for obama is a vote for destroying this country and to not vote is the same as an obama vote. I believe God knows all and sees all and has blessed America for many years. You may ask for his understanding and forgiveness but you must vote to save America. God will certainly understand and Romney will do all he can to save this great country and restore it's standing in the world. God Bless.

    • windeaces

Most protestant churches teach that God puts into power those that He would have there and we should be subject to them. Well, call me a bad baptist as I don't share this belief. Even in Bibical times the people wanted a king even though God was to be their king; not an earthly one. God allowed them to have an earthly king but due to their following Him or worldly ways they had good kings and bad kings. Same applies today; when we leave following God we get something we totally deserve. If enough of our citizenry still follow this route we will have Obama again. If we turn from a worldly path Romney will be elected. It all depends on which god we follow; the God of creation or the god of earth, satan.

To say that "Mormons do not believe in a Biblical Jesus" shows your lack of understanding of both the Bible and "Mormons". We believe exactly what the Bible tells us. We don't believe in the 4th century invention of Alexander and Athanasias called the "Trinitarian Doctrine". That doctrine is what is not Biblical. But believeing in that doctrine or not has no bearing on whether someone can believe that Jesus is their Lord and Savior.

I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.(Note Jesus literally said "unless you believe that I AM, you will die in your sin. Jesus is Jehovah, the God of the Old Testament. He is the Son of God the Father. We worship the Father through Jesus. Jesus is our intermediary with the Father. We can only approach the Father through Jesus.

What does the Bible say about that? Not everyone who calls themselves Christian really are.. Matthew 7:21-23 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. http://www.kjv-truth-ministries.org I will be voting for Romney but that doesn't mean I accept that he is Christian. • Raymond

      Who am I?

I was born in one country, raised in another.

My father was born in another country.

I was not his only child. He fathered several
      children with numerous women.

I became very close to my mother, as my father
      showed no interest in me.

My mother died at an early age from cancer.

Although my father deserted me and my mother raised me,
I later wrote a book idolizing my father, not my mother.

Later in life, questions arose over my real name.

      My birth records were sketchy.
No one was able to produce a legitimate,
      reliable birth certificate.

I grew up practicing one faith but converted to Christianity,
as it was widely accepted in my new country, but I practiced
non-traditional beliefs and didn't follow Christianity, except
in the public eye under scrutiny.

I worked and lived among lower-class people as a young adult,
disguising myself as someone who really cared about them.

That was before I decided it was time to get serious about my
life and embarked on a new career.

I wrote a book about my struggles growing up.
It was clear to those who read my memoirs that
I had difficulties accepting that my father abandoned
      me as a child.

I became active in local politics in my 30's; then,
with help behind the scenes, I literally burst onto
the scene as a candidate for national office in my 40s.

They said I had a golden tongue and could talk
      anyone into anything.

I had a virtually non-existent resume, little work history,
and no experience in leading a single organization.

Yet I was a powerful speaker and citizens were drawn to me,
as though I were a magnet and they were small roofing tacks.

I drew incredibly large crowds during my public appearances.
      This bolstered my ego.

At first, my political campaign focused on my country's foreign
policy... I was very critical of my country in the last war, and
seized every opportunity to bash my country.

But what launched my rise to national prominence were my
      views on the country's economy.

I pretended to have a really good plan on how we could do
better, and every poor person would be fed and housed for free.

I knew which group was responsible for getting us into this mess.

It was the free market, banks and corporations.

I decided to start making citizens hate them and,
if they became envious of others who did well, the plan
      was clinched tight.

      I called mine "A People's Campaign".

That sounded good to all people.

I was the surprise candidate because I emerged from
outside the traditional path of politics and was able to
      gain widespread popular support.

I knew that, if I merely offered the people 'hope',
together we could change our country and the world.

So, I started to make my speeches sound like they were
on behalf of the downtrodden, poor, ignorant to include
      "persecuted minorities".

My true views were not widely known, and I kept them unknown,
until after I became my nation's leader.

I had to carefully guard reality, as anybody could have easily
found out what I really believed, if they had simply read my
writings and examined those people associated with. I'm glad they didn't.

Then I became the most powerful man in the world.

And then world learned the truth.

      Who am I?

If you were thinking of SOMEONE ELSE,
You should be scared, very scared!

But the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Christian. I am an historian of American history. And it is interesting to me that not only did some Protestants call JFK not a Christian but from the very beginning of American history the Congregationalism called the Quakers non christian. The Anglicans at one time said that the Baptists and Presbyterian were not Christians and not to be tolerated. The Catholic Church is even attacked in the Declaration of Independence as Papist and not Christian. And so on and so on. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints I declare my faith in Jesus Christ. My first principle of religion is faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and it is through the grace, mercy and merit of his atonement on the cross that I will be saved. If that isn't Christian enough for you that isn't my problem is it?

    • GONESURFING

Our doctrine does not save us but our faith in Christ does, I will stick to the Bible alone for my doctrine, but I am sure there are Born Again Christians in many different churches, and also some who are not Born Again in those same churches. Again, doctrine does not save us, but some can be led astray with the wrong beliefs. It is not my problem either, God knows our hearts, God is our judge, but remember you must be BORN AGAIN .

Romney has high moral standards and loves this country. Obama hates the American way and has done everything he can to 'change' it = ruin it. As a Christian i have no problem voting for a moral and honest man, Mitt Romney.

How can you grow the economy if you don't reduct the size of the Fed govt and get rid of all of the un-Constitutional depts such as the Dept of Educ. And apparently some do because they have a real problem here with their "thinking." Sometimes reading the things they do just makes their minds go into a complete scramble of information and they lose the ability to think logically. We cannot afford 4 more years of obama, and some of these people just don't get it. Voting for obama or voting for Ron Paul/Gary Johnson .... you throw away your vote with the latter 2 because they cannot win. And if you stay home it only proves you don't care about this country, your family, your loved ones or any American. No we cannot have 4 more years of this madness, and it will be far far worse.

You need to understand the LDS religion before you tell a bunch of lies about something you know nothing about.

    • http://www.facebook.com/peter.tefft.7 Peter Tefft

Any educated or non educated individual can easily see that LDS is a cult with great error if and when you try to justify it as Christian. It is so far off from being Christian its understood. Mormons don't want to be called Christian, so why does anyone want to call them Christian. They are not without question. As far as knowing what they are about, its simple. Do they believe in salvation by grace alone in the death of Jesus Christ and do they believe that Jesus was God incarnate. Many other apostolic doctrines are denied by the Mormons. Discussion over.

I see they are quite similar and since Jesus commanded us to keep unity (John 17:23: Eph 4:3) I suggest we do just that. If a body of believers agrees that Jesus is the only way to heaven (John 14:6) he is part of the same body ( just in case you are concerned about doctrinal differences Jesus addressed those also Mark 9:38-41)
God will be none to happy with His children who fight and feud over the small things and prevent others from seeing His bigger picture.
Stop focuisng on our differences and look at what unites us.

    • mallen11

They may seem similar but the big difference is how they view Jesus Christ as the only Lord and savior. I grew up as a Southern Baptist and they no longer even teach the plan of salvation correctly. The Catholics don't teach the scriptures and have so many rituals it distracts them from the Word of God. Why do you check out at least one of the following...

I am not saying not to vote for Romney, because I am, but not take the mormon religion or any other religion as a way of life. Christianity is not a religion but a relationship with Jesus Christ through the Word of God in fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

We are Orthodox Biblicist. Someone who interprets the Bible strictly or literally from the original languages (Hebrew & Greek). Our Pastor-Teacher studies from the original languages and teaches his congregation using Isagogics, Categorical and Exegesis. We are not fundamentalist. He teaches word by word and verse by verse and doesn't leave things out that might upset people.

2 John 1:9-11 Anyone who goes too far and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God; the one who abides in the teaching, he has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house, and do not give him a greeting; for the one who gives him a greeting participates in his evil deeds.

II Tim 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; (intellectuals seeking.)

Mallen, I'm a Catholic and we do read scriptures at EVERY mass. Thank you for the completely uninformed thought presented as fact. But you are incorrect. If you are going to blanket state "facts" about another faith, at least try to be accurate.

    • mallen11

I am the scripture is read but are they taught? Ritual without reality is meaningless. I have known too many Catholics who know nothing about the Bible; only that they are Catholics and when asked if they are Christians they will say, "I am a Catholic", and can't tell you the way of salvation.

    • Wingedgodd3ss

Well, gee, I'm sorry your pool of Catholics that you've interviewed didn't know what YOU think they should...My faith is my faith--Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior....religion is just the car I drive to get there...and mine is Catholic. I don't have time to nitpick other people's religion or what they know...because it isn't between me and them it's between them and God. What kind of person are they? How do they live? Just my thought. And P.S. I'm personally so tired of those who think they know that just accepting Jesus Christ means they are saved but then they can be judgemental mean divisive a$$holes and still go to heaven....I don't think it works that way.

    • mallen11

Wingedgodd3ss, I am sad for you. Apparently, you do live as you preach since you have no idea what the Bible teaches.

Eternal salvation from sin, death and hell is the free gift of
God's grace, and is based solely upon man's personal faith and belief in Jesus Christ. He voluntarily died as a substitutionary sacrifice for our sins and arose bodily from the dead, thus guaranteeing our own resurrection to eternal life. This salvation is not received by, nor based on, any sacrament, merit, or good work on our part. This one who receives Christ's salvation is eternally secure. (John 1:11-13, 3:16, 5:24, 10:28-30, 14:6; Acts 16:31; Romans 3:23-26, 5:8, 6:23, 10:9-10; Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:5; Hebrews 7:24-25; I Peter 1:18-19, I John 5:11-13)

    • Wingedgodd3ss

      Mallen,
But by the grace of Christ, we achieve the salvation God desires for us through
      perseverance in both faith and works.Neh. 13:14, Psalm 11:7,28:4, Isa. 3:10, 59:18, Jer. 25:14, 50:29, Ezek. 9:10,
      11:21, 36:19, Hos. 4:9, 9:15, 12:2, Sir. 16:12,14.
      Sir. 35:19; Luke 23:41; John 3:19-21, Rom. 8:13, 2 Tim 4:14, Titus 3:8,14,
Rev. 22:12 - these verses also teach us that we all will be judged by God
according to our deeds. There is no distinction between the "saved" and the
      "unsaved."
1 Cor. 3:15 - if works are unnecessary for salvation as many Protestants
believe, then why is a man saved (not just rewarded) through fire by a judgment
      of his works?

Matt. 7:1-3 - we are not judged just by faith, but actually how we judge
others, and we get what we have given. Hence, we are judged according to how we
responded to God's grace during our lives.

Matt. 10:22, 24:13; Mark 13:13 - Jesus taught that we must endure to the very
end to be saved. If this is true, then how can Protestants believe in the
erroneous teaching of "Once saved, always saved?" If salvation occurred at a
specific point in time when we accepted Jesus as personal Lord and Savior, there
would be no need to endure to the end. We would already be saved.

Matt. 16:27 – Jesus says He will repay every man for what he has done
      (works).

Matt. 25:31-46 - Jesus' teaching on the separation of the sheep from the
goats is based on the works that were done during their lives, not just on their
acceptance of Christ as Savior. In fact, this teaching even demonstrates that
those who are ultimately saved do not necessarily have to know Christ. Also, we
don’t accept Christ; He accepts us. God first makes the decision to accept us
before we could ever accept Him.

Matt. 25:40,45 - Jesus says "Whatever you did to the least of my brothers,
you did it to Me." We are judged and our eternal destiny is determined in
      accordance with our works.

Mark 10:21 - Jesus says sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will
have treasure in heaven. This means that our salvation depends upon our works.

Luke 12:43-48 - these verses teach us that we must act according to the
Lord's will. We are judged based upon what we know and then do, not just upon
      what we know.

Luke 14:14 – Jesus says we are repaid for the works we have done at the
resurrection of the just. Our works lead to salvation.

Luke 23:41 - some Protestants argue that Jesus gave salvation to the good
thief even though the thief did not do any good works. However, the good thief
did in fact do a good work, which was rebuking the bad thief when he and others
were reviling Jesus. This was a "work" which justified the good thief before
Jesus and gained His favor. Moreover, we don't know if the good thief asked God
for forgiveness, did works of penance and charity and was reconciled to God
      before he was crucified.

Rom. 2:6-10, 13 - God will judge every man according to his works. Our
salvation depends on how we cooperate with God's grace.

2 Cor. 5:10 - at the judgment Seat of Christ, we are judged according to what
we have done in the body, not how much faith we had.

2 Cor. 9:6 – Paul says that he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly,
and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully, in connection with God’s
      judgment.

2 Cor. 11:15 - our end will correspond to our deeds. Our works are necessary
to both our justification and salvation.

Gal. 6:7-9 – whatever a man sows, he will reap. Paul warns the Galatians not
to grow weary in doing good works, for in due season they will reap (the rewards
      of eternal life).

Eph. 6:8 – whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same again from the
      Lord.

Sorry, goddess, but you have distorted every one of those scriptures and have taken them out of context. As believers in the Lord Jesus Christ we are to learn what the Bible teaches, grow spiritually through His Word as He leads us to serve Him. When Jesus Christ took all the sins of mankind on Him on the cross for the last three hours in total agony separated from God in His humanity, while our sins were judged by God the Father. After the last three hours on the cross He said, "It is finished". The work of salvation was accomplished by the humanity of Jesus Christ and there is NOTHING anyone can do to work for their salvation because He did ALL the work for us. The Bible says to believe in Jesus Christ for salvation and after salvation all our works and good deeds should be done in the filling of the Holy Spirit or they will be burned at the Judgment Seat of Christ as hay, wood and stubble. One cannot judge another person according to their deeds for even unbelievers do good deeds and do good works. Even unbelievers can be good people just like Mormons are taught to be good and do good. Mormonism is a religous cult that honors the book of mormon over the Bible. I have done my research in enough different areas to know the truth about their teachings that are as distorted as your post.

    • KayDeeBeau

I don't think you and I are in disagreement. There is one flock and one Shepherd. We are all called to bring others into the flock - our "denominational" infighting is a problem in bringing others into the flock. Jesus warned us about that very thing.
Only God knows the heart of another. We are only commanded to preach the gospel and make disciples - not make denominations. Human nature is prone to "clustering" and when there are denominational differences, we are not to let those differences get in the way of the Gospel.

I guess the bigger question is "what is the Gospel?" If it is the good news of Jesus Christ - the Redeeming Atonement for our debt of sin, then getting so bogged down in the other things is like unto the Pharisees and Saducces (sp).

As Baptists, we believe in instruments in our worship, the Church of Christ does not. Do those things change the Gospel? No. Are those kinds of differences worth fighting over? No

Jesus came to seek and to save that which was lost. Until all believers stop fighting over the little stuff, we are stumbling blocks to every one - causing them to miss the Gospel altogether and we grieve our Father

    • mallen11

      I agree.

    • Rufustoad

HHHMMMM My bible says not to add to and it also says if you are a believer you still may not get to heaven. Look at the religious tree and notice it is NOT the same body.

    • KayDeeBeau

So how do you reconcile my Biblical citations with your statement? Perhaps a spiritual meal of "meat" rather than pablum could be in order? (1 Cor 3:1-3; Heb 11-14; 1Peter 2) Just a thought.......

    • Rufustoad

LOL, I think you need to read the bible as a whole and not cast out one liners. Faith will be backed up by the proof of ones life. The Devils also believe and tremble. Just saying.

So Vote for the Muslim, Peter.
His people starting with the pedophile warlord Mohammed have only been trying to conquer the world and kill anyone who will not pray to the Moon god allah FOR 1300 YEARS. 4 more years of a Muslim President and the capital will be moved to Dearborn Michigan and you will be able to have 4 wives and beat them all under Sharia Law.
There is nothing wrong with Mormons that isn't wrong with Presbityrians, Baptists or other athiests

    • mallen11

Do you know how the mormons got started? Their history started the same way the mulims did with some guy that told fairy tales.

What is the point in all your rambling here? If anyone does not know what they want to do at this point, you are certainly not helping them decide anything. You are so negative.

    • mallen11

Not rambling, dear, just telling the truth before people get taken in by false teachings. Being negative sometimes help people see the truth.

2 John 1:9-11 Anyone who goes too far and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God; the one who abides
in the teaching, he has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house, and do not give him a greeting; for the one who gives him a greeting participates in his evil deeds.

II Tim 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound
doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; (intellectuals seeking.)

    • Infidel48

Do You Know How Islam started? Mohammed hijacked a caravan outside Medina after they ran him out of Mecca. He gave the camel jockies a choice of joining him or losing their heads and islam grew that way until NOW.
Mormons won't cut off your head if you don't join them. They are honest hard working people

    • Jay

You, and others, are not telling the truth. You are simply repeating the same old half-truths and lies. Do not attempt to tell Mormons what they believe, because you do not know.

    • mallen11

Sorry, but I have done my research and I do know the truth about the mormon religion and cult. How can you tell me what I know or don't know? Are you one of their "gods" they plan to be after death?

    • Jay

mallen, no doubt had you lived at the time of Christ you would have gone to the Sanhedrin to do your research and get your information as to who this Christ was.

Sandy, I have been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for over 30 years and have NEVER been taught doctrine in the way that this person presents it! Things have been taken out of context, and, I must say, were offensive to me. I believe this man is just trying to justify his opinion, for whatever reason, but I can tell you his words are misleading. This makes me sad. If you ask God with sincerity whether this man is being completely truthful or just trying to justify himself, he will reveal to you the truth through the Holy Ghost.

    • wearyconservative1946

A couple of months ago, Aaron Klein had a LDS Elder on his show to answer call in questions from the audience. It was really great, and settled any qualms I may have had about Romney.
So much of mish mash we're reading on here now is coming from people who are merely repeating the untrue talking points of others who know absolutely nothing about the religion.

    • Wingedgodd3ss

Peter, I'm having a hard time understanding what your point is. You would prefer a muslim? Someone who has foregone the National Day of prayer since he's been in office? Anyone who claims to be a Christian cannot in good conscience vote for Obama, stay home and not vote or vote third party. Period. Discussion over.

    • http://twitter.com/bbrozius Beth Brozius

I don't understand these people who would throw their vote away because of someone's faith. My word, Mitt Romney is a good man and that is the important thing. They would rather vote for obama who is evil in every sense of the word, but then throw their vote away on a men who cannot win, Ron Paul and Gary Johnson. That is so childish I cannot believe people reason in this way.

    • Wingedgodd3ss

I don't either...it's ridiculous. Not just childish...but irresponsible too. Damn.

    • usmadgirl

      Beth Brozius,
A-M-E-N!!! My sentiments exactly! Most of the Ron Paul / Gary Johnson worshipers are looking more like O'Dumbo worshipers every day! They remind me of brats on the playground..."if you don't play what I want to play, I'm gonna take my toys & go home"! Grow up!

My choices for the GOP candidate weren't nominated either, but I "got over it" (after screaming about how stupid the uninformed, unconcerned are) & moved on! I'm a conservative Christian too, but I'd vote for Presidential candidate, "Cat" & VP candidate "Dog" before I'd vote for the anti-Christian, anti-Jew, baby-murdering, homosexual-sympathizing, Global Justice pushing, Marxist, America-hating, pot-smoking, cocaine-fried, Muslim-sympathizing, ineligible imposter who has almost succeeded in destroying our Republic!

How could there even be a question about who we have to vote for? My prayer would be that someone FINALLY stood up to expose this phony BEFORE the elections, but after 3 1/2 years, I've given up hope!

      God Bless America

    • http://twitter.com/bbrozius Beth Brozius

It is not your discussion to end.

    • http://twitter.com/bubblesofjoy15 Sandy Riffle

Suggested reading material: THE GOD MAKERS is a shocking expose of what the Mormon Church REALLY believes. Highly recommend this book published in 1984 and chapter 16 is quite the prophecy about to come true.

    • http://twitter.com/bbrozius Beth Brozius

Why do you keep on about this. Mitt Romney is not going to be doing anything in the office like that. How ridiculous on your part. What about all the other presidents who were all different faiths? So get off this topic and move on. This is not the place to spout what you believe. We all realize what is going on here.

    • Jay

The God Makers is a collection of half-truths and lies, too. It was proven years ago to be totally bogus.

    • Proud Disabled Vet

So does that mean you are voting for Obama for another 4 years? Even if you vote for someone else other than Romney, Obama wins! I understand the LDS religion... But God allowed this cross road to take place! Don't ever forget that GOD is still in charge! The Democrats gave the drum beat that George W, Bush was a terrible President! And the People bought it! Now, we all know that President Obama has done so much worse that Bush ever did and he has been President for only 4 years! As a God fearing, Bible believing Christian will vote for Mitt Romney. And ANY CHRISTIAN that votes for Obama, doesn't vote, or votes 3 party...needs to rethink about their Christianity! If Romney does win, WE ALL LOOSE! AMERICA will never be the same! Your freedoms will be picked off one by one! We use to have not only Christians as Presidents, but ministers! The Republican Party has turned its back on GOD and Christians! Its time we take the party back or replace it with one that will listen to us! VP Dan Quail was asked, if the President was killed or had died, what would the first think he would do. He replied, I would get down on my knees and pray for the Almighty to give comfort to the Bush family and give me wisdom and for this country I must lead. HE WAS LAUGHED AT! MARK MY WORD! OBAMA can not, must not have 4 more years and he must me voted OUT! Out of this country if you ask me! He's the one that told the world that America was no longer a Christian nations! Let's show him he's ABSOLUTELY WRONG!

    "Romney
    on Abortion

    1994
    - Romney stated, "I believe abortion should be safe and legal in this country.

    2001
    - While campaigning in Utah, Romney said, "I am not pro-choice."

    2002
    - While in Massachusetts, Romney quipped, "I will preserve and
protect a woman's right to choose.

    2004
    - Romney again magically became pro-life.

    2005
    - Once again in liberal Massachusetts, Romney spoke these words, "I am actually committed to my
promise to maintain the status quo with regards to laws related to abortion and
choice. He even exempted Catholic and Christian hospitals from refusing the
morning-after pill in case of rape.

Not only does Romney not advocate a ban on embryonic research,
he actually supports government funding for the lethal use of the tiniest
children for research, demonstrating the falsity of both his conversion and his
account of it. And yet many pro-family "leaders" have chosen to ignore the
    truth, and believe lies.

    Now on the
campaign trail again, he's saying he's pro-life, but let's look at his record.

    After he claimed
a pro-life conversion, Willard Mitt Romney

    • authorized tax-funded surgical elective abortion two years after
    he claimed he was pro-life.
    • advocated grisly research
on embryos after he claimed a pro-life conversion.

nominated a pro-abort Democrat judge after he claimed a pro-life
    conversion.
    • gave Planned Parenthood a permanent seat on a
state board after he claimed a pro- life conversion.

bragged that he would continue to defend abortion "rights" after he claimed a
    pro-life conversion.

    His record is
absolutely shocking and in another campaign speech he stated he is personally
pro-life, but doesn't want to push his personal religious beliefs on society.
So, society's cultural decline and the murder of 56 million innocent babies
shouldn't have any commentary from the religious sidelines?

    To top it off,
the Pro-Life Family Movement discredits themselves again and again. Many
conservatives repeat his false claim of being pro-life including Ann Coulter,
saying "Romney governed as a pro-lifer." Jordan Sekulow through his father's
organization, ACLJ (American Center for Law and Justice) wrote, "Governor Romney
would and still could make a great candidate." Jay Sekulow is a CNP member. Tony
Perkins (CNP) at the Family Research Council says Romney is, "solidly
conservative across the board," and a Focus Action Candidate Commentary video
from Focus on the Family(CNP) shockingly agrees with Romney that, "on the social
issues we are so similar." Remember, these groups are members of the secretive
Council for National Policy and nearly all are UN-NGO's. As UN-non governmental
organizations, they must agree with the planks of the Marxist UN to get NGO
    status.

    These groups
and people say all this of a man who

    • funded abortion
    statewide through taxpayer monies
    • opposed a Massachusetts
    Defense of Marriage Constitutional amendment
    • said
homosexuals should be allowed in the boy scouts
    • officially
    celebrated "Gay-Straight Youth Pride Day"
    • sat on the board
of directors for a leading purveyor of pornography without opposing the
    corporation's exploitation of women
    • instituted homosexual
    marriage
    • was ahead of Barack Obama in promoting government
    controlled health care.

    Gay
    Rights and Marriage

    When Romney
ran against Ted Kennedy for Senator in 1994, he wrote a letter to the Log Cabin
Republicans stating, "We must make equality for gays and lesbians a mainstream
    concern."
Romney also stated in 2002 that "All citizens deserve equal
rights, regardless of their sexual orientation." Willard said that domestic
partnership status should be recognized in a way that includes the potential for
health benefits and rights of survivorship. Most companies today give health
benefits to homosexual partners. One of the first was the conservative company
of Colorado, Coors Beer while their backyard neighbor and fellow Council for
National Policy member James Dobson of Focus on the Family railed against one of
the airlines for giving health benefits to homosexual partners.

    Romney also
supported hate crimes legislation during his campaign for governor. In 2002,
Romney also opposed a Massachusetts constitutional amendment that would have
banned same-sex marriage and domestic partnerships because the amendment would
have prohibited domestic partnership benefits for gays and lesbians.

    • supported Bill
Clinton's "Don't ask, don't tell" and thinks it worked and shouldn't be
    changed.
    • boosted funding for homosexual "education" starting in
    kindergarten
    • opposes a ban on homosexual scoutmasters

    • forced Catholic Charities, the nation's #1 adoption and
foster care service to place children with same sex couples even though he was
under no legal obligation to do so.
    • passed over Republican lawyers for three quarters of the 36
judicial vacancies he faced and nominated two open
    homosexuals.
    • supports
passage at the state level of the Employment non-discrimination Act which would
force churches and other religious organizations to hire homosexuals and
transvestites or face criminal fines and prosecution.

    Global
Warming/Climate Change and Cap and Trade

    On CBS with
Katy Couric in February, 2009, Romney said this, "I think the risks of climate change are
real. And that you're seeing real climate change. And I think human activity is
contributing to it. I would develop within this country sources of energy which
would allow us to be free of foreign oil. But sources that don't emit CO2."

"I believe the world is getting warmer, and I believe that humans
have contributed to that," he told a crowd of about 200 at a town hall
    meeting in Manchester, New Hampshire."

    Romney supports regulation of
greenhouse gas emissions, primarily through voluntary measure. He would
eliminate "dirty" coal power plants even at the cost of losing jobs because he
    believes coal plants kill people.

    Illegal Aliens and
    Amnesty

    Although
Romney says he's against amnesty for illegal aliens, he also says, "I don't
believe in rounding up 11 million people and forcing them at gunpoint from our
country." (Willard, it's probably more like 40 or 50 million people here
illegally and according to FBI statistics they murder 25 American citizens per
day!) Willard says he would like to see illegal immigrants register with the
government, pay taxes, and apply for citizenship. What? How about entering the
country the way all our ancestors did? How about coming into this country
legally? Does Willard have any idea of how many "other types" are crossing the
    border so easily?

    Education

    Romney
supported the infamous, No Child Left Behind, as well as the federal
government's involvement in education. See Charlotte
Iserbyt's article. He approved efforts in Massachusetts to REQUIRE parents
in poorly performing schools to attend parental education classes. He also is
for Charter Schools. See education expert, Char
    Iserbyt's article on Charter Schools.

    Second
    Amendment

    Willard Romney
has stated in past campaigns that he is a proponent of gun control and fully
supports a ban on assault weapons. He enacted a ban in Massachusetts on many so
called "military style assault weapons." Romney stated, "These guns are not made
for recreation or self-defense. They are instruments of destruction with the
sole purpose of hunting down and killing people." Sorry Willard, but you don't
know squat about firearms, nor do you understand that the second amendment is
the very teeth of the Bill of Rights. And you don't even own a gun!

    In 1994,
Willard also supported the Brady Bill. The Center for Handgun Violence which is
Sarah Brady's organization, is responsible for countless lawsuits against
manufacturers and various state firearm laws. They are rabid anti-gunners, as
    obviously is Willard Mitt Romney.

    Sustainable Development
    and Agenda 21

    In 2004, as
part of Willard's goal to adopt a strategic approach to "land protection" in
Massachusetts, he launched a plan to help cities and towns adopt "smart growth"
policies that foster sustainable development. He stated that he wanted a more
coordinated approach to "land conservation," involving housing, environmental
    and transportation agencies.

    As I mentioned
in my previous article on Newt Gingrich, federal or state land grabs under the
guise of sustainability are wholly unconstitutional. However, once again,
elimination of land by the federal or state governments when it belongs to the
people, is fully a plank of the communist manifesto." - from: "The Phony Right Wing: Romney" by Kelleigh Nelson
    http://www.newswithviews.com/Nelson/kelleigh123.htm
    Here's food for thought:
"And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove
    [them]." - Ephesians 5:11
"...for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion
hath light with darkness? " 2 Corinthians 6:14

we have no choice between the two mainstream candidates.. we've been boxed in by the elites. There is a way out! Yes, there is! Everyone's vote counts ...it's high time "we the people" take control over the 2012 election and "write in" Ron Paul. We know Ron Paul is a Christian and loves freedom for all people. He has an excellent record standing firm on the Constitution of the United States of America, our freedom document. RON PAUL 2012

    • Piltdown911

From a logical point of view, there is no choice. One is a Marxist Communist whose faith is Muslim, the other a Marxist Communist whose faith is Mormon. Both ideologically identical, and neither worth crossing the street to vote for.

    • Jay

Mitt Romney is far from perfect, but then again, all of us are. Even as a Mormon, under any other circumstances, Mitt Romney would not be my first choice for president. But I guarantee you one thing, he will be a far sight better and a whole lot less evil than Barack Obama.

So keep up this stupid division among the voters and YOU will be the ones we will have to thank for Obama's return to the White House!

    • Piltdown911

Romney is as close to perfection as Obama. There shouldn't
be any division among the voters, there shouldn't be any division between the
parties as their agendas match, evidenced by their actions.

    • GONESURFING

what a Job and great prez.."NOT"

    • Piltdown911

1-6 you could say the same for Bush.
7 President has little to no control over prices.
10.Flag burning based upon our foreign policy that has been
going on for years, and I seriously doubt it is at an all-time high.
11 Based on Romney's plan - individual mandate and all.
14 Bush initially went to war in Iraq without a legal
      declaration of war from Congress.
15 The US was behind ousting the Shah in Iran - look what we
have now. Iraq is also under Islamic control.
18 There has been "on and ons" for many different
      presidents.

The Democrats and Republicans march to the same drum, they
just tell different lies, and break different campaign promises.
Every major piece of bad legislation Romney either did it
first, or came out in support of it, and Ryan voted in favor of it. Romney even
instituted gay marriage in Mass. and Obama hasn't gotten to it yet. Any
difference? Hardly, Romney is guranteed to keep things going as they are.

U sound like one of two identities: 1. A Obummer supporter 2. A Ron Paul fanatic. (1) Obummer is not totally worthless, if nothing else, he can be used as a poster boy for a bad example. (2) Ron has some fine qualities, but his view on legalizing drugs makes him a non starter in my book.
Personally, I would have preferred Michele Bachman. Do you have any dirt on her you'd like to share???

    • Piltdown911

Like Ron said, you wouldn’t run out and shoot up if it were
legal would you? I work with a man from Jamaica who told me that there is no
drinking age, anybody could go and get a beer (or whatever). Do they have an
underage drinking problem? No. We on the other hand with our drinking age have
a pretty substantial underage drinking problem, just look at the colleges. It
is a rebellion thing, there are countries who have legalized drugs and have
much lower instances of abuse. Let me ask you this – do you drink coffee or alcohol?
If so you are a drug user.

Bachmann, aside from being clueless when it comes to the Constitution,
she seems to have a propensity for government subsidies despite her verbal dislike
for them. A farm in Wisconsin, in which Michelle is a partner, collected more
than $260,000 in federal farm subsidies between 1995 and 2006 and if you ask
her about farm subsidies, she walks away or changes the subject. Bachmann
stated that the subsidies went to her in-laws and she never received "one
penny" from the farm. However in financial disclosure forms she reported
receiving between $32,503 and $105,000 in income from the farm, at minimum
between the above years. Bachmann and Associates, Inc. is a Christian mental health clinic founded and run by Michelle Bachmann's husband. It has been receiving money from the state of Minnesota from 2003. Since 2007 the clinic has taken in nearly $30,000. In Minnesota, they have their own version of socialized medicine, it is called “Medical Assistance” and Bachmann's business actively sought the taxpayer resources. The business applied for a Rule 29 license in the fall of 2003. Minnesota's Rule 29 certification describes the program as one that "establishes standards for community mental health centers and clinics and is required for certain categories of Medical Assistance payments. Bachmann and Associates also was accepted into the Rule 31 program, which also covered payments for chemical dependency treatments. According to the state's Transparency and Accountability Project (TAP), the Bachmann's received $27,564 in state payments since 2007.

Totally agree with you as well.

big talk bad plan. WE have to fight this evil with the only way they will listen vote the bums out.

    • david

I agree, in war, all ground is taken a little at a time till the war is won. Even if we don't win the war today, we cannot give ground to the enemy and expect to win the war. we may win a swamp today but it is part of the kingdom. sometimes the least desirable real estate is the key to winning or losing the war. Think the Russion front in both world wars.

    • Bill Johnson

To not vote is cowardly. Stick your head in the sand and pretend to be righteous. "The kings heart is in the hand of the Lord, like the rivers of water he turns them whether so ever he will." God could have given us two christian candidates if He so chose, but He did not. Hide behind you fake spirituallity if you will. I will choose to vote because God has given me that opportunity. If the agressive follower of Satan remains in the White House and all christians suffer, YOU will partially to blame.

Calling Mitt Romney "evil" sounds like the Muslims that call America "evil". They have no idea what they're talking about.

You quote two peple just to say what? Your not voting.Good
You don't understand righteousness or forgiveness.
when your judged it will be for lack of what?

    • Henry F. Smith

I totally disagree with you. Mitt is a very principled man endeavoring to live the commandments of The Lord Jesus Christ. You obviously do not know what or who you are spewing dirty hate at. Did the Devil live in heaven with Heavenly Father and Jesus before he was cast out? What was the relationship between Jesus and Lucifer before the rebellion? If not his brother, you certainly are not the one to explain it. Heavenly Father is the physical Father of Jesus Christ. How he accomplished this I'll leave to your imagination. I certainly could not rely on what you imagine to be any better than what anyone else imagines.

    • Thomas Jefferson

      Foolishness

    • gotham1883

You only serve to confuse yourself and others. Another name for satan is "the Great Puzzler" because he tries to confuse everyone, and uses that confusion to his benefit. No political decision will ever be perfect, as in all decisions in life, sometimes we just have to make the best choice available. It is prudent and common sense.

  • RKflorida

Thanks for adding some clarity to this difficult decision.

    • Jack Chambles

Being a christian, I would much rather have a Mormon, atheist, or agnostic than the Muslim failure we have in there now. You are voting for the man to do the job; not for his religious behavior. He is NOT our spiritual leader!

You spiritual odd-balls will put The Evil One, Obama back in with your indecision.
Stand up for a good man to run the country. Romney
      Jack

    • RKflorida

The decision is voting for Romney or not voting. Thank you for the label of "Spiritual Odd-Ball". How you got to that decision "Being a Christian" is remarkable.

Yea difficult should I let Obama finish destroying our morals, constitution, and Christian way of life or should I vote to stop him. tough eh?
