Ron Paul: “Country Should Panic Over Fed’s Decision”


ron paul videoBrace yourselves for hyper inflation. The Federal Reserve has announced it’s cranking up the printing presses and launching Quantitative Easing 3 (QE3). However, they are not doing it without someone standing up and reminding everyone just how bad this will make things and why. That someone has been doing it for at least three decades, Texas Congressman Ron Paul.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Paul reacted to the idea of more stimulus provided by the Federal Reserve by saying,

“It should not surprise anybody, but it is still astounding. To me, it is so astounding that it does not collapse the markets. [Bernanke] said, ‘We are in very big trouble. We are going to do something unprecedented and we believe it will not hurt the dollar.’ And yet the stocks, they say ‘we love this stuff.’ But the dollar didn’t do so well today and the real value of the dollar is measured against gold, and gold skyrocketed from its very low to its highest. It means we are weakening the dollar. We are trying to liquidate our debt through inflation. The consequence of what the Fed is doing is a lot more than just CPI. It has to do with malinvestment and people doing the wrong things at the wrong time. Believe me, there is plenty of that. The one thing that Bernanke has not achieved and it frustrates him, I can tell—is he gets no economic growth. He doesn’t do anything with the unemployment numbers. I think the country should have panicked over what the Fed is saying that we have lost control and the only thing we have left is massively creating new money out of thin air, which has not worked before, and is not going to work this time.”

He also reminded people of the potential unintended consequences of such stimulus,

“The biggest unintended consequence is what we need is a restoration of confidence. If the Fed is expressing a lack of confidence and they do not know what to do, it does not do anything to restore confidence. People might restrain from doing anything. ‘Interest rates are low. I do not have to buy my house this year. I will wait until next year. It might be a little easier. Prices might come down.’ So people are restrained and it is the opposite of when you expect that housing prices are going up, and you are afraid interest rates are going up. That is why the market rate of interest is so crucial. The rate of interest should give the businessman, the entrepreneurs, the investors and the savers information. But there is no market to interest rates. That is why there is such gross distortion and why we do not have a market economy. We have a rigged economy through central economic planning by central banking. The system is failing, it was doomed to fail and we have to wake up to that fact.”

When asked whether the Federal Reserve needs discipline, Paul said,

“Short of getting rid of the Fed, which is not going to come and I wouldn’t do that overnight anyway, I would say that Congress has the authority to say, do not buy debt. Do not buy any debt. The Congress can yell and scream and pander to the people. They can say the deficits are terrible and terrible. But nobody wants to cut overseas spending or food stamps for the poor. They say, ‘we cannot do it without the Fed. The Fed has to buy this debt.’ That is a moral hazard for the politician. If the Fed couldn’t buy the debt, and interest rates would rise all of the sudden the burden would be on the Congress to get their house in order to restore confidence. Even that would panic a lot of people because live within your means? We do not like that. We like this idea that we can give people anything they want for free, so we can get reelected. Well, all of this is coming to an end.”

When asked whether or not Ben Bernanke should be pulling back liquidity and raising interest rates now, the congressman said,

“Liquidity should be determined by the market. I don’t think he should raise rates. He should just get out of rigging rates. The system is so biased. It helps the bankers who get free money and then they buy government debt. What about the people who are frightened, they do not like the stock market and they are frugal and want to take care of themselves? What do they get—1% on a CD? That is unfair. It’s bad economics. You want to let the market determine interest rates and let it sort it out. People get so nervous, because we have lived so long with a Keynesian economic model of fixing interest rates and intervening in the market.”

When asked if Mitt Romney were elected would he do the right thing with the Federal Reserve, Paul said, “So far, I have not heard that he would, but he has changed his mind before. If he gets to be president, we will keep our fingers crossed.”

Already the markets have been showing a boost in gold and silver prices this week due to the news. Today gold was at over $1770, while silver was over $34.50. You can bet we will see an increase in prices at the store very soon in response to the smoking of the Fed’s printing presses.

    You, Mr. Paul are partly responsible for the Fed which is governed by U.S. laws passed by congress–you. You gave it the mandate to monitor interest rates and stimulate employment. Any panic should be felt by you as your estate faces whatever inflation and dislocation happens in the unlikely event that Fed Chairman Bernancke isn’t smart enough to ratchet down Fed quantitative easing when inflation jumps up. Meanwhile the Fed partly compensates for YOUR congressional failure to pass jobs legislation and tax reform to enable big business to hire again and small businesses to form–and create jobs obviating the Fed’s need to act. Look in the mirror if you want the source of panic.

      yeah- I like that. My copy of Hayek is full of underlines, dog ears, etc there are so many good things that I wanted to remember and take away from it. You have just convinced me to read it again soon.
      It has always been amazing to me that there is a whole sector of society who think they are more advanced than the rest, and they actually believe that if given the controls they could form us into a better society. It’s because they are more evolved than us, and more feeling and sensitive. I was taught an early lesson in civics by my third grade teacher, She let us make our own rules, Wrote them down on the board, and even let us design the punishments. Wow- we had rules for everything, We were a controlled society. After a week of forcing us to live by them, we were all happy to return to normal rules. Thanks to Mrs Emerson for that little lesson. It kept my eyes open to tyrannical rule the rest of my life.
      Saw a bumper sticker on the back of a car in Austin the other day (among a dozen others) that really stuck out. It said “Oh, Evolve!”. The driver was severly tatooed and punctured, and I am sure (she) slept in tents during the occupy movement. Must be nice to be young, without any responsibility, and know so much more than everybody else. Guess that’s the human condition. We’re all pretty smart in our own estimation.

Their quotes should be warnings against all of the misSteps we have taken. We ignore them to our peril.     I pray that Romney will appoint Ron Paul the head of the Fed and give him full authority to go in and clean up that cesspool of corruption called the Federal Reserve. Ron Paul can do more good for this country by this than anything else. He has been trying to get an audit of the Fed for years, he knows where all their dirty laundry is hanging and what can be done to stop them. The Federal Reserve is a major cause of the financial mess in this county because they have been printing money and giving it to foreign countries. When Greece was going down, it was announced that the US was sending them $180 billion to keep them from collapsing into bankruptcy. A few days later, the business section of the paper had a small item with Bernanke saying that the US had printed and set aside $1.6 TRILLION to keep Greece and Europe stabilized. We can’t afford this, and it won’t stop until the US either goes bankrupt or the Fed gets their butt kicked.

      We only have two real choices. One of them will be our president for the next four years. PLEASE don’t let it be OBAMA! I like Ron Paul but he cannot get elected even if he runs as a third party. All he will do will be give Obama the presidency. At least Romney is not a Muslim and he does love America. He is also a very moral, decent man (as if that matters to most people anymore).

      Nanette, you are probably right, and it is a really sad commentary on the state of our union. Any one of the men in Lincolns cabinet was better than what we have to vote on for the presidency of this great country. I am very sad about this. I am in Maryland, which is a Blue state because we have DC and Baltimore to put up with, therefore my vote will not even count, because we still have the electoral college.

    It has dawned on me that when Obama’s secretary Chu said we had to figure how to get gasoline prices in the U. S. the same as Europe, the plan was in motion already. The quickest and easiest way to increase oil prices is to make the dollar worth less. The easiest way to do that is to create more dollars (supply and demand works with dollars as well as anything else). The Fed runs the printing press 24 hours a day, decrease the value of the dollar and increased the cost of oil and gasoline, as well as almost every other product. Oh, don’t worry they don’t count those increases in price as inflation so everything is ok.

      After all, who spends money on those? Another hysterical point when you consider the marxist party and, say, the occupy bums. Gas price increases and food price increases. Let’s see. Someone makes perhaps $100 a week. He burns 4 gallons of gas a week. At 2.50 a gallon, he is left with 90 a week. Let’s say he spends 40 of that on food. So now he is left with 50 bucks to pay for everything else. Raise gas to $5 a gallon and a 25 percent increase in food. He now has 30 bucks a week left. He just lost FORTY PERCENT of what he had left over.

      Now, on the other hand, do you think Stretch Pelosi would even NOTICE gas at $10 a gallon? Or if her food bill went from $1000 a week up to $1200 a week?

      These price increases are very regressive. They hurt lower income people FAR more than the so-called “one percent”, and yet the government gets away with not including them in the inflation statistics! And morons like the occupy bums are oblivious to stuff like this. Beside all the numerous actions that need to be taken in this nation, we need to start requiring basic economics classes for graduation as well as math.

But what does business experience and a persons ability to interact with other people have to do with a persons ability to be a good President? After all it not government who should be in the business of creating jobs but rather the private sector. Second, I don’t care if a politician has the worst personality in the world as long as they obey the constitution and get the government off the backs of the people. Ok, I said Mitt is a carbon copy of Obama. First, Romneycare is the precursor for Obamacare. Mitt Romney signed into law in Massachusetts legislation that was just as bad as Obamacare. I have to ask the question. Why would Mitt do that if he did not think like a socialist? Mitt is a socialist. Also, Mitt and the Republicans said that they would repeal Obamacare. Now, why in the world would Mitt want to get rid of Obama’s health care legislation which is closely related to the health care legislation that Mitt signed in Massachusetts? I believe the Mitt and the Republicans are just playing games, because in the past the Republican controlled House has passed health care legislation under George W Bush. I believe the Republicans want to repeal Obamacare and replace it with Republicancare so the Republicans can get the credit for it. Next, most of the tyrannical legislation that has been passed since Bush won the Presidency in 2000 has been passed by Republican controlled House. And Mitt Romney has supported all of this tyrannical legislation, for example: the Patriot Act, T.S.A., the Military Commissions Act 2006, NDAA, bailouts, and the list goes on. Furthermore, Mitt supports globalism and internationalism just as much as Obama does. This is my personal experience. I became a Ronald Reagan Republican back in 1980 mainly because the Republicans were actually talking about balancing the budget, reducing the size of the federal government, and they were actually talking about getting rid of the Department of Education which was formed under Jimmy Carter in 1979. The Republicans had a chance to prove themselves in 1981 and 1982 but they forsook their pledge to the American people. And in November of 1982 they lost control of the House. To me Republicans are hippocrate’s and liars. Republicans are great orators but they fall flat on their face when it comes to obeying the constitution and restoring the rights of the people. In fact, the NDAA destroys all of the rights of the people. And, as you know, that was past by a Republican controlled House. Am I frustrated with Mitt? You bet I am. But I am also very mad at the Republican Party. Lastly, I could never vote for Mitt. He brings with him dishonesty and corruption (remember what happened at the GOP convention in Tampa), We already have enough corruption and dishonesty in Washington DC. We don’t need any more.

Or they’re too busy worrying about their own personal interests (welfare checks, or whatever) to care about the impact our choices today will have on our heir’s futures. When I look at my grandchildren, I do so with a heavy heart, knowing we ‘could have’ changed America’s course and put her back on track. Perhaps we still can, but the possibility looks bleaker with each passing Presidential Administration. It seems our leaders get more brazen, every time they’ve succeeded in breaking the rules. Obama has made it obvious he has no respect for his oath of office or the Constitution he is supposed to be defending.

      We’re screwed either way. The upside to Obama is that we’d only have to tolerate him for four years (supposedly), as apposed to eight, which might be the case with Romney. Otherwise, both men (the establishment would have us believe are our only choices) will continue to run our Nation into the ground. I think, short of a bloody Revolution, America as we know it, is coming to an end. Probably why the Government is ordering billions of rounds of ammo and is scouting our skies with ‘unarmed’ drones. Keep in mind, those same drones are armed and are killing people across the pond. What’s to stop our Government from turning on us? The have their agenda, and aren’t likely to give up their power easily. Obama and Romney are two sides of the same coin.

Romney may play by different rules along the way, but the objective will be the same with either Candidate. The idea is to merge America’s borders with Mexico’s and Canada’s to create the North American Union. Look around, at where we are now, and look back on the past few Administration’s actions. Each President dribbles the ball to the next guy down the line, as long as the ball keeps moving toward their ultimate goal, the man ‘we choose’ to be our President doesn’t matter, as long as that person is an establishment choice (their puppet). We are being pacified by a rich and powerful few that want One World Governance to believe we have a choice. The whole reason Ron Paul never had a chance is because he refuses to play the establishment game, instead, he would (have tried to) lead our Nation back to her Sovereign roots. By the time the masses grasp that concept, I suspect it will be too late to reclaim our Nation and restore our rights as a free and independent Nation. Had the GOP wanted to leave Obama standing in the dust, they would have been promoting Ron Paul all along. Now, there would be a debate worth watching, and you can bet, they would be discussing America’s problems instead of slinging mud at each other.

Both Candidates condone the NDAA … and I have no doubt, both Candidates will cater to the UN— hardly, Presidential material if the goal is to resurrect our dying Constitution, which, if you’ll note, is not something either Candidate has stated as a goal. I doubt either man intends to honor his oath of office. I hope I am wrong. But, given the track record of these men, I’d say America is going to be a “Remember when”, if we don’t redirect our path, and soon.       The only choice you had – you now have a choice – Romney or Obama – don’t fool yourself – a vote for a third party or write in Ron Paul is NOT a vote for Obama – but it could well only be taking the vote from Romney and would give Obama the count over him. Might as well just stay home or leave it blank – it would have the same effect on the presidential election. Paul cannot win – nor can any of the other third party runners.

      Many of us would love to see Ron Paul in there – but folks, he does not have a chance. A vote for a third party candidate is a vote for Obama. Romney is not perfect, but he does understand finances and knows how to keep a business in the black. His party is pro-life and pro-traditional marriage. So while not perfect, it is a whole lot better than Obama’s anti-American agenda.

      Dr. Paul has it only partially correct; some of us have long since panicked. I panicked when QE2 was announced. I thought I had seen the ultimate in fiscal insanity. I was wrong.
      Unfortunately, Dr. Paul is not on the ticket–writing him in would be wasting your vote and it would help Resident -0bama get reelected.
      The only thing to do now is to batten down the hatches because a storm is on the way!
      I believe, at this point, there is only ONE way we can stay afloat and in that “one way” four things must be accomplished:
      1. Get behind Mitt Romney.
      2. Work to elect a majority of Repubicans in the Senate.
      3. Work to keep a majority of Repubicans in the House.
      4. Pray for the best and prepare for the worst.

If true, I suspect it would be the beginning of the end of the Federal Reserve, because Dr. Paul would bring the Transparency to their operations that we should have had all along. If people knew how they operated, the Federal Reserve would be out of business. Speaking of the Fed, the bill to Audit the Fed (which passed the House a month or two ago) is heading for the Senate soon (this month). PLEASE EVERYBODY, call your Senators and DEMAND that they approve this bill for the sake of our Nation. Regardless of the elections, we all have a right to know what the Federal Reserve is up to, since without them, America would not be buried in debt.       Ms. Steinhauser, I agree with “57girl” (below); the “Jeckyll Island” folks would NEVER tolerate Dr. Paul running the Fed and, besides, he’s not really qualified to do so. Not a slam against Dr. Paul, but it is what it is. This is not to say that Dr. Paul could not provide a useful service in the Fed.
      My trouble is that I can’t think of someone I would both trust AND deem qualified for the job. Elizabeth MacDonald and Charles Payne come to mind but Ms. MacDonald’s and Mr. Payne’s forte are more in the area of the stock market–I mention them though because of their sterling analytical credentials.
      Maybe the smartest move would be (and I REALLY hope it’s what Mitt Romney has in mind!) is to put the dollar back on the gold standard and do away with the Fed altogether.

      We all know what eventually happened to the Roman Empire. One of the very basic reasons for the demise of the Roman Empire was the debasement of their currency. The coined money the Romans used where the gold aureus and the silver denarius. The aureus was originally 8 grams of pure gold and the denarius was 5.5 grams of pure silver. The debasement began when the aureus was replaced with 4.5 gram pure gold solidus.
      From the year 0 to 100 AD the denarius contained over 90% silver. By 200 AD the silver content had fallen to less than 70%. By 300 AD there was less than 5% silver in the coin the rest being base metals like copper. In 350 AD it was worthless and would have taken 9 million denarius coins to equal the buying power of the original 8 grams of gold aureus. Can you see any justification for Cicero’s warning today?
      We can find direct parallels between Roman currency and what has happened to currency in These United States of America.
      The dollar was adopted as the standard US monetary unit by The Coinage Act of 1792.
      The actual metal content of U.S. coins has been debased beginning in with the passage of “The Coinage Act of 1965”. The metal content of dimes, quarters, and half-dollars was changed by law, eliminating the requirement that they be 90% silver. Dimes and the quarters no longer contained any silver. Silver in the half-dollar plunged to 40 percent and was reduced to zero after 1970. Even the penny was debased. In 1981 the 95 percent copper and 5 percent zinc alloy penny changed to 97.5 percent zinc and 2.5 percent copper. Then there was the elimination of the gold and silver backed paper money replaced by the Federal Reserve Note that inflation has debased beyond all recognition.

An SF a-team staying in a motel somewhere is not a military base. People who have never served in combat … and yet feel qualified to send strangers (who they support, because after all, their patriotic) into hell. Do you really believe that if some hostile force came here, conquered our country, set up a puppet government friendly to themselves, and set up military bases here … that we would not be the terrorists we see the Middle Easterns as today. Ron Paul (the only veteran of any of the original presidential candidates) wants a strong defense, but he is with the founding fathers (who had seen 1200 years of Islam and still felt we needed to avoid overseas entanglements). He is right on the economy and he is right on foreign policy. The “good” news is that it won’t matter after a while. If we don’t end entitlements, corporatism, and our warfare state soon … the collapse of our economy will do it for us. But I would be interested to know if you were ever involved in the fighting of Islam … or if you’re just convinced that others need to do it. The history of Islam is there for all to see. A good book called “Mohammed and Charlemagne revisited: the history of a controversy” is a good place to start. There is no modern “PC” crap in this book – it was written in the 1920′s.       Ok harley (by the way I ride a harley also), first a friendly point of order: I have to assume the other person is wrong in order to have a disagreement – don’t I? :-) Ron Paul is wrong about Islam, because he assumes that if we leave them alone they will leave us alone. Islam does not work that way. The dictates of Islam call for the submission of all humanity to Allah. It is a muslims responsibility to make that happen. To the muslims the world is divided in to two areas: Dar al-Salam (house of islam), anywhere islam is worshipped openly and the dominant religion, and Dar al-Harb (house of war), where islam is not dominant. The goal of islam is to bring back the twelfth imam to bring the world to an end so all go to paradise (muslims anyway). In order to do that the world must be at war, according to the dogma of islam, and all humanity must recognize allah as God and mohammed (curse be upon him) as his messenger. Therefore muslims enter Dar al-Harb to conduct war. We are the house of war, Israel is the house of war, Europe is the house of war, Africa, is the house of war etc. Anywhere Islam is not dominant is the house of war. This has been going on for 1400 years. The one thing that slows this down for awhile is when muslims are busy fighting other muslims. The ottoman empire may be considered the epitome of the islamic empire, it started with the fall of Constantinople in the 1400′s and continued for hundreds of years. Prior to that muslims cut off all trade between east and west, thus isolating the eastern roman empire from the western roman empire, (later that is why Columbus tried to go around the world). Thus starting the dark ages. The slave trade was almost entirely run by muslims, because in islam if you are not muslim, you are slave, eunuch, concubine etc.
      The ottoman empire attacked Spain and controlled parts of spain for hundreds of years (that is why southern Spaniards have dark skin,black hair, brown eyes). Continue…

Arabs whine about the crusades. The crusades were implemented as a defensive maneuver when the middle eastern Christians and Jews called for help from the west because the muslims were killing them all (still happening today by the way). This type of conquest happened all the way until WWI.
      That is all I’m going to write here, but the information is out there. islam’s goal is world domination. period. 9/11 was just a continuation of 1400 years of conquest, and it continues as we speak.       anyway, i watched the you tube you recommended. Indeed, very informative. And I will pass on to others. I have posted my opinion about Islam many times. And they all boil down to this. Islam is the only religion today that condones murder and violence. It is the only religion where fathers kill daughters for honor sake. It is the only religion that condones stoning women and children to death. Just recently, a mob of Muslims almost burn a young girl alive when she tore off some pages of a Koran.

      I have always said we need to take a pro-active vigilance against any Islam infiltration into our society. Otherwise, we will wake up one day and realize we have lost our freedom. Note that I said, into our society. The ones in the middle east are a lost cause. The Muslims in those countries are killing each other. Why interfere? Now if we interfere, they will only find a common enemy in us.
      This is why I am inclined to try Ron Paul’s position. Do I know absolutely if this strategy would work? No. But it’s worth a try…because so far what we have been doing does not appear to be working.

      These strong places became weak at some point…so the Muslims were able to wear them down. It’s not likely that a strong country can be worn down. So at some point in time, due to economic and political reasons, these countries became weaker.
      The Romans over expanded. So their forces became diluted. There were political and military in-fighting. So they became divided. They let their guards down, and the Muslim pounced. History lesson learned. We should not let our guards down. When I said 100 years, it was not a prediction. I was just saying we are so strong now that nothing is going to happen, unless we let our guards down. I don’t foresee them invading us in the foreseeable future. That does not mean we should not be vigilant now. And yes, I agree, the Muslim infiltration has begun…I read something about some Sharia Law passing in Michigan. Like a chess piece, they took a piece. They are now working to capture the next piece. Let’s stop them. And we can start by educating our fellow Americans.

      But politically, we are weak. Our country is now divided in almost every issue. So Islam can gain grounds via politically. The battle will not be fought and won on the field, but in our minds. This is a battle in who gets into the minds of the American people first. I’m afraid that the radical Muslims are winning this battle, due to our political correctness and the liberal media. Fortunately, they have not reached the critical mass yet. So we still have a chance to turn this around. As the saying goes, all it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.

      Another thing we need to teach people is to guard against normalcy bias…the it-won’t-happen-to-me thinking. This human nature is what caused millions of Jews to underestimate Hitler and to willingly walk into gas chambers.

      We have our work cut out…and I’m glad we are on the same side.

      Being a Paul Supporter, I must say, it is you that is missing the point. For starters, if we followed our Constitution, there would be no room for Sharia law in America. Then again, if we followed our Constitution, the Federal Reserve would have never come into existence, there would not be 40 Czars overriding Congresses authority, and on down the line. He was the desert moon god worshipped by a lot of desert tribes (their symbol of allah / islam is the moon and a star – it is on all their mosques), including the tribe mohammed (c.b.u.h.) was from.       57girl, Unfortunately, Ron Paul doesn’t have as many supporters as you want to believe. As an Independent, I support some of his ideas, but not enough of them to make me want to vote for him. I am a patriot and a Marine. My own opinion, There is no one I really want to see be our president. But it is our civic duty to vote.

      If that were really the truth, then maybe you can explain how he lost in the primaries and the caucuses. He didn’t get enough support in all of the 50 states. You are sadly mistaken. And if you keep thinking that way, you can prepare yourself for 4 more years of what you are complaining about. Before you complain about Gov. Romney being a “puppet,” you might want to look at who is pulling your strings. If you are going to be a “follower,” it’s smart to think about who/what you are following. Going over a cliff isn’t very much fun.

      What good would it do to write in Ron Paul when he’s not running on a 3rd party ticket? Most states will not let you write in anyone if they’re not running. Where are your brains? Are you not a responsible enough person to want your vote to count? Do you seriously want 4 more years of Obama? Wake up!!

      SInce Paul is not registered as a third party, a vote for him would be essentially a ballot thrown in the trash. They cannot count that vote. I don’t recall for sure, but I also believe this may negate the entire ballot- please check me on that part. If you don’t believe me, google it, and look up the rules for write-in candidates. You cannot write him in. Not saying this to be mean, it’s just the law. I would think that the same Ron Paul supporters who used the rules to try to get him nominted by the rules of the primary process would understand these rules.

      I know it is fantasy. Saving America at this point is another fantasy, unless the people start paying attention to our leaders and voting accordingly. Of course, honest elections would help. As an example of our interaction with our Representatives, we should all be calling our State’s Senator’s and demand that they vote ‘yeah’ on the bill to Audit the Federal Reserve when it comes to the floor for a vote, this month (?). It has already been approved by the house, which means nothing unless the Senate approves it. The last time a similar bill went through the process, it passed the house, but not the Senate. We need to stand together Nationwide (for what it is worth) and make our voice’s heard on this critical issue.

      Don’t assume this election is dishonest because it doesn’t go your way. That is part of what turns off the people who might have voted for RP, but end up not voting for him. Some people honestly disagree with some of the things RP says. Should we audit the fed? Sure. But let’s not fool ourselves into thinking that will solve all our problems.

Maybe four years down the road we can try again to elect a man of Dr. Paul’s caliber. People will have been through hell by then if the Republic survives that long.       What kind of “leader” would urge people to “panic?” Tough times require clear heads, and calm demeanor. What a foolish thing to say to the American people. Roosevelt was really good about his radio broadcasts and keeping the American people committed to the war effort. Churchill was even better…”the only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” Those are pretty impressive words to try to remember when the sirens are screaming and your are running for an air raid shelter. BUT NEVER tell somebody to panic! Bear Bryant was really good about teaching his players about the importance to be good winners and good losers. It is a shame Ron Paul never studied under “the Bear.”
