I Have A Dream…For America

i-have-a-dreamThis past weekend I was reading Doug Giles’ wonderful book Raising Righteous and Rowdy Girls. I highly recommend it for fathers, though some in this audience will find him a little “rough around the edges.” Overlook that. It is well worth the read. However, in discussing women being able to defend themselves, Giles locked onto a theme similar to that of Dr. Martin Luther King’s famous “I have a dream” speech. My mind began to race as I laughed, in agreement, at Giles’ comments, but as I began to formulate my own dream of America. So here goes….

I have a dream

That all men would actually be considered equal in the United States of America by all men, regardless of their party affiliation, ethnicity or creed. This would be because the God who made us created us in His own image.

I have a dream

That government would actually shrink. I dream that parties would quit telling us how they are for “less government” and start delivering more “less government.” That they would not seek political office for the power and monetary gain of it, but that in fact they would seek political office to gut government, welfare, and wasteful spending and learn to live within their means.

I have a dream

That we would once again return to at minimum the law of the land, the Constitution, and put in place sound money, that we might be those who do not live in an economic system that is a house of cards, ready to collapse at any moment. I dream of America, once again, having “just weights and measurements” in her economy.

I have a dream

That all men regardless of their ethnicity would work hard and seek to do their best for their employer and likewise that their employers would regard their employee’s with respect.

I have a dream

That every American would become educated in the use of a firearm and purchase at least one or maybe ten. I dream that the American people would once again remember what their forefathers knew and that is our Second Amendment rights are, in essence, what protects all the others.

I have a dream

That the gospel of Jesus Christ would go forward and that all men might be converted to Christianity, not by the edge of the sword as in some religions, but in the power of the gospel as the Spirit of God grants them faith and repentance from sin. I have a dream!

I have a dream

Where parents remove their children from the nanny state’s education system and begin teaching and training their children themselves. I dream that they are not burdened by high costs and high taxes so that they may be able to be involved more and more in the lives of their children as to indoctrinate them to love God with all their hearts mind and strength.

I have dream

That kids will be able to run and play freely outside in their neighborhoods without fear of being picked up by some psychotic beast of a person that is intent on doing them harm, where neighborhoods are protective of one another, not envious of each other. I have a dream that America once again experiences that sense of community and love for their fellow man, even when they disagree.

I have a dream

That babies will be welcome and understood to be blessings, not considered to be choices to be torn apart and flushed down a toilet.

I have a dream

That women will once again be treated as women, not as feminists, that motherhood would be seen again as honorable and that little girls would desire to grow up to be mothers eager to help their husbands take over the world for the glory of God.

I have a dream

That men would be raised up with fire in their bones and once again make time to teach their children the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, put a righteous fear of God in the hearts of their children so that they will fear no man and lead once again in the home, the Church and in government.

I have a dream

That those who serve in government, whether at the local level, state or federal would truly uphold their oath of office. I want to see men in our country take the lead and quit sitting on the couch vegging out while the women take their position in leadership and the defense of the nation. When our daughters rise up to defend us, it is a sign of God’s judgment upon our land. But I have a dream that men will once again be protectors and leaders in their homes and in their government.

I have a dream

That the federal and state governments would get their deficit spending under control. I dream that they would no longer squeeze every last dime from the American taxpayer in order to facilitate their own carnal pleasures via the power they possess that has been granted to them by those same taxpayers.

I have a dream

That the United States of America would govern herself without the influence of foreign government, the United Nations or Central Banks.

I have a dream

That raw milk is once again seen as a healthy source of food for Americans, where farmers are not restricted or subsidized in their farming and where people can raise chickens or other animals for food and sustenance on their own property without threat of government intervention.

I have a dream

That government would not longer be looked upon as God and the great Santa Claus of the society to provide free food, money and cell phones. I dream that men and women everywhere would become once again embarrassed to have to live on welfare, instead of looking to provide for themselves and their families.

I have a dream

That adolescence is not carried into a person’s mid-twenties, but instead we, as parents would once again begin to raise our children so that there is a smooth transition from childhood to man or womanhood at an early age, rather than train our offspring that they can be perpetual children for half of their lives.

I have a dream

That evildoers in the society will not be tolerated but be punished in accordance with their crimes. I dream that victims, as well as, their families and taxpayers not be punished by having to house, feed and clothe those who have committed crimes such as murder, rape, and kidnapping, but that they receive a justice at the hand of government.

I have a dream

That we once again see the Triune God of the Bible and His laws come to bear upon our own government and society so that we might be a nation that is blessed of Him.

I have a dream

That America might once again be a city on a hill, whose light is not hidden under a bushel but because of the impact of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ might be that which goes out into all the earth to change the hearts of men.

I have a dream

That every man, woman, boy and girl understands that when they accomplish something it is by the grace of God and yet they are the ones accomplishing it whether it is their home, a building or their business.

May God, by His infinite grace, grant such an America and more. Feel free to add to the dream!

“We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ,
and we are ready to punish all disobedience, whenever your obedience is complete.”

Appeals to the 1789 U.S. Constitution do not bring any lasting relief from the tyranny America is under. Prior to 1789, the colonists (Pilgrims, Puritans, Quakers, etc.) relied on God’s Word to govern their civil discourse. A return to this love and devotion to our Heavenly Father’s written commandment, statute and judgment will bring about the dream – heaven on earth.

I had a dream, prayed for my wife to stop adultry and return to the family, (2 girls 11 &13 and myself). She didn’t ! She divorced me. My prayer to GOD, “Why” ? 2 1/2 yrs. later GOD’s reply came. “I didn’t force you to love me, so why would you want me to force her to love you ? No matter how much we understand GOD’s love and ways, others are “willfully ignorant”, or willfully evil !

This would be the best article & response(s) I’ve read since joining
up with this website!  Thank you for the magnificent “lead” to the
website by Pastor/Teacher Weiland!  Whew!!  Should be a “must
read” for every American with a computer and/or printed off for
them who don’t.  Thank you again! :)

Most of your comments are truly inspiring. However, there is one point I must challenge. It is true God made us in his own shadowed image but He did not create us all equal.

Look around and see we do not all have the same IQ or the same looks, talent, or ability. That’s my point. We do have equal opportunity to make a decision to do that which is right or wrong unless you’re born mentally handicapped in some way.

I agree, bu the equality I was speaking of was what you just mentioned:)  that equality means we should give equal respect.  Of course we are different in all the capacities you mentioned:)

“I have a dream that the gospel of Jesus Christ would
go forward and that all men might be converted to Christianity….” Not
going to happen as long as the First Amendment’s polytheistic, First
Commandment violating provision for the freedom of religion is not rescinded.

“I have a dream that every American would become
educated in the use of a firearm….” Not going to happen as long as
Americans look to the Second Amendment for the right to bear arms rather than to
the Bible for their responsibility to bear arms in defense of themselves, their
    families, and neighbors.

“I have a dream that government would no longer be
looked upon as God….” Not going to happen as long as we promote WE THE
PEOPLE and a government of, by, and for the people rather than a government of,
    by, and for Yahweh.

“I have a dream that evildoers in the society will not
be tolerated but be punished in accordance with their crimes.  I dream that victims, as well as, their
families and taxpayers not be punished by having to house, feed and clothe
those who have committed crimes such as murder, rape, and kidnapping, but that
they receive a justice at the hand of government.” Not going to happen
until Amendment 8′s ban of cruel and unusual punishments is rescinded and
replaced with Yahweh’s altogether righteous judgments (Psalm 19:9).

“I have a dream that we once again see the Triune God
of the Bible and His laws come to bear upon our own government and society so
that we might be a nation that is blessed of Him.” Not going to happen as
long people view the Constitution as the supreme law of the land, as per
    Article 6.

“I have a dream that America might once again be a city
on a hill….” Not going to happen until we return to America’s true
17th-century Christian founders, who established their colonial governments
upon Christ and Yahweh’s morality as codified in His commandments, statutes,
    and judgments.

I agree with your comments, but it requires faith, believing that God is able to overcome all the obstacles that you mentioned.

    • http://www.missiontoisrael.org/ Ted R. Weiland

Tim, thanks for replying. I agree it will take the faith you’ve described above in a God with whom nothing is impossible. It will also take Christians identifying and repenting of our national idol – the humanistic, antichristian, polytheistic promoting Constitution.

       Find
out how much you really know about the Constitution as compared to Yahweh’s
moral law (His commandments, statutes, and judgments). Take our Constitution
Survey and receive a free copy of the “Primer” (an 85 page book, normally $7
plus shipping) of “Bible Law vs. the United States Constitution: The
Christian Perspective.” Click on my name, which will take you to my web page. The survey can be found in the right-hand column.

I would love to send you the “Primer” and get your feed back.

    I share that dream!

As the song goes…Dream…dream, baby.  How long must I dream…
That is why poeple go into politics to begin with, they are COUNTING on a lifetime job AND a huge paycheck, free (forever)  medical care, and a golden retirement package.  These are the SAME people who condem unions for providing decent union wages and applauading “golden parachutes” for executives.  I have a dream too…that God smites Ovomit and he  has a heart attack ASAP.

Very nice…but truly a dream..I don’t know how we get rid of programs that have become twelve headed dragons, it will take a tough you know what, to make it happen..Hope you get it..aside from I know a whole bunch of people who should never be gun owners , they are too full of themselves and would never bother learning how to respect them..Others will say you want to go back to the America some of us knew..Where kids could play freely , without us worrying who “took” them..Where we knew everyone and no one meant any harm to anyone else..Helping hands in the windows..Good citizenship, those days are gone forever..but they will Return  because I believe and it sounds like you do too..We might have to go through a rough patch to get there though…God’s in control….I know atheists who deep down inside, hope I’m right as well…As for the true evil, it’s got to go..
