Reality Check: RNC Is About To Shut Out All Grassroots Efforts


ben-swannBen Swann reports on a follow up to our own Cynthia Kennedy’s reports from last night as the RNC gets ready to vote on rules that will essentially silence the voice of the grassroots of the Republican party. This is something everyone who is a Republican needs to view and understand what is taking place.

According to the new rules that are to be voted on Tuesday, Mitt Romney would have unprecedented power in 2016, should he win the presidency in 2012. He can discard delegates at will and insert whomever he wishes. This makes a mockery of the entire delegation process.

Ben also asked Romney about the RNC stripping Maine delegates of their credentials. Did Romney answer honestly?

    this is exactly why I do not give any fimamcial support to the RNC. any support I give is directly to individual candidates only.  It is also why I do not consider myself a republican eve though I am registered as one.  jr

    ITS BECAUSE BOTH PARTIES ARE SLOWLY LEADING US TO THE HOG TROUGF OF COMMUNIST CONTROL. THEIR BOTH AFFRAID OF ANY OPPOSITION TO UPSET THEIR MASTER PLAN TO OWN OUR MINDS AND SOULS.. THATS WHY THEY BOTH FEAR THE TEA PARTY TO BRING AMERICA BACK TO WHERE OUR FOUNDING FATHER’S PUT THEIR FAMILILES AND LIVES AND EVERYTHING THEY OWNED ON THE LINE FROM THE CONTROL THEY WERE TRYING TO ESCAPE FROM AND FIND OUT WERE RUNNING RIGHT BACK INTO LETTING THEM HAVE CONTROL OVER OUR LIVES BUT WANT SOMEONE TO TAKE CARE OF US LIKE A MOTHER DOES A BABY FROM BEING BORN TILL WERE DEAD.     The tactics that have been used by the Romney Campaign on opposition Delegates is non democratic, un-American, dishonorable, totalitarian,mafia like in nature, Fascist, dictatorial, & down right Communist. Is this a small preview of things to come should he become El Presidente; his character is not that befitting a Constitutional Republic? However it does ring the bell of a Totalitarian Dictatorship quite well…Romney is quoted as saying he supported NDAA 2012 “AS Written”! I know the NDAA 2012 is totally unconstitutional…!

    And when it comes to speakers at the convention, where’s Ron Paul, or Rand Paul, or Allen West, or Artur Davis, or Sarah Palin, or Thomas Sowell, just to name a few. Conservatives must remember that the WH (is not) the main prize. Congress is, unless Romney plans to do what the Marxist-in-Chief has been doing, which is, ignore and bypass congress, the courts, the law, and the Constitution. But i truly doubt he has the stomach for that.
    If Romney wins the WH, and the Demoncrats keep the senate, Romney might as well go fishing for four years, because they won’t let him make a move.

    This is so typical of the RNC. They have a candidate that will win the election and do good things for the country. So the RNC wants to ride on the coattails of Romney and Ryan; and while doing this they want rule changes to disenfranchise the voters. They could piss off the republicans and independents and lose this election. Way to go RNC; you have got me pissed off.

    the system we have now does not work properly, we need to give all the states a chance to vote between MR and RP before nomination
    if there weren’t so many conservatives in the original primaries then MR wouldn’t have won so many and either RP or RS would be the GOP nominee

    Everyone here needs to know how the RNC is running the convention this year. They have stripped duly elected delegates of their credential to prevent anyone that doesn’t support Romney from “messing up” their convention. They tried to unseat the entire Maine delegation. The Romney supporting governor of Maine, boycotted the convention, so they eventually let 10 of the 28 delegates in and appointed the rest of the delegates. They were trying to reduce the number of Ron Paul delegates. Maine was the 5th state to have a plurality of delegates for Ron Paul and, according to the rules, would’ve guaranteed him to be nominated and to speak for 15 minutes at the convention, but the RNC would have none of that.
    A Republic (which is what the founders wanted) follows the rule of law to protect the liberty and speech of the minority. The RNC doesn’t believe in the rule of law or democratic elections anymore.
    They also changed the rules allowing the central committee to change all rules without requiring delegate to vote on it (contrary to the entire history of the GOP). All votes in the convention were scripted and dissenting votes ignored. Most votes were worded to make sure that nobody actually knew what they were voting on and no discussion on merits or problems were allowed. I was appalled. The delegates were not needed and all calls for division, point of order, or votes of nay were ignored. Our voices were not heard in the convention and the votes of Americans don’t matter to the RNC. Liberty minded people who still care about America need to take over the GOP from the bottom up or the Republican party will go the way of the Whigs.
