Mass. RNC Decertifies 16 Ron Paul Delegates

mass-gop-logoIt looks as if the Republican National Committee and the Mitt Romney campaign have officially taken a stand to oust Ron Paul supporters in Massachusetts. On August 10, the RNC’s ‘Committee on Contest’, chaired by Mike Duncan, released their recommendation to uphold “Romney for President, Inc.” decision to ignore the official caucus results. Instead they manipulated rules to decertify sixteen duly elected delegates. On August 14, the decertified delegates filed a Notice of Intent to Object. They are expecting an impartial hearing prior to Tampa.

It seems that Team Romney and the RNC do not care about unifying this block of voters at all because, at every turn, they have looked to undermine their organization and hard work and to shut their voice out of the convention. Last week it was Maine, this week it’s Massachusetts.

From the official release of the Massachusetts Liberty Caucus,

These sixteen duly elected Liberty delegates wanted to participate in the Republican National Convention to promote three platform issues, specifically Auditing the Federal Reserve Bank, Requiring Congressional Declaration of War for Funding Wars, and Protecting Internet Freedom.

This flagrant violation of the foundation of American Democracy has not killed the spirit of Liberty, but rather strengthened the resolve of activists to continue to reform the Massachusetts Republican Party, by actively supporting the removal of leadership that undermines fair elections, promotes cronyism, and whose policy positions clearly infringe on personal liberty. One example of the lack of liberty in the current state Republican Party Leadership is the recent endorsement by Republican State House Minority Leader Bradley Jones of ‘price controls’ on health care that every small government Republican should be opposed.

The tactical purge of duly elected delegates by the Romney Campaign’s top attorney, Benjamin Ginsberg, sends a clear message that grassroots activists are not welcome to participate in Romney’s Presidential Campaign. The grassroots activists that organized, worked hard, and campaigned to elect those decertified delegates can take a hint, and while committed to defeating President Barack Obama and his policies that promote poverty, not prosperity, moving forward, will pledge their time, talent, and treasure towards supporting local candidates.

These are people that had already purchased plane tickets and made travel arrangements to Tampa as official National delegates to the convention. Now they have been undercut by both the RNC and the Romney campaign.

For the Ron Paul supporters who say they cant vote for Romney because he is no better than obama Please take 22 min of your time to watch this, then ask yourself if a President Romney would ever do any thing as treasonous as this, then think about your write in vote for Dr Ron Paul and if you would be OK with another 4 years of obama knowing had you voted for Romney we might have been able to stop him from another 4 years of destroying America
if the link doesent work highlight it a copy and past it in your browser

One wonders what the rest of the story might be. On what grounds did they decertify these delegates. Even the most unjust must provide some rationale.

  • Mom

So tell me Tim, who did you support in the Republican field because it sure isn’t Romney!

  • Average Joe

I’m waiting for Ron to eather run Independant or back someone else. I will fallow Ron Pauls lead. While hes not the perfict guy I have faith in his leadership and trust his judgement.

Mitt, and the RNC can do anything they want to do…If anyone expects them to be ask about any of this, forget it.Mitt, and the RNC are as corrupt as one can be,and not one of these groups,or,individuals that claim to be – On Our Side! – can even put themselves in a position the Ask Mitt a Question anytime, anywhere…Where is “We are Change”? Where is the great Alex Jones?Where is that guy that infiltrated the Union Office, and that black group that just changed names….some neighborhood thing?

November 6th, 2012 the day America elected its 1st Third Party President, Gary Johnson, who like Ronald Regan is supposed to be “Unelectable” .

Independents outnumber registered Dems. or registered Reps..

  • constitution restored now!

to hell with romney and the rnc for trying to silence a movement of liberty and freedom that the repubs need to go back to!
its time to cut both the spending and size of govt and cut americans empire around the world and this means to STOP looking for or starting trouble around the world!
its time to LEAVE Iraq and Afghanistan NOW not in YEARS from now!
I was a ron paul supporter but not I have switched to Virgil Goode which SO WOULD BE A BETTER PRESIDENT THAN ROMNEY AND OF COURSE SOTERO!
I will NEVER vote for that rino pos romney!

  • Doski

Romney’s vision of the first amendment just cost him the 19 votes controlled by our family plus whoever we can sway to the Gary Johnson camp. I always suspected Romney and Obama were just two heads of the same snake. Now I’m sure of it.

    Revolution Welcome here !

    • liberty now

they ARE different heads of the same snake and voters THINK THEY ARE DIFFERENT!

  • ADRoberts

It is time for the Christian Tea Party. The Republicans, including Romney, refuse to allow others to h;ave a say. So let’s see just how few of them will be left after the Christians, prolifers, 2nd amendment people, pro tight border, straight marriage, antiObamacare people leave their corrupt ways of doing business as usual.

I for one do not like being manipulated. The RNC and the media (by omiting Dr. Ron Paul) are manipulating the choices. Think about it, if the election process is being manipulated, then do you really have a free choice? I say, no you do not. I do not think that is acting childish.

  • pearl87

No way should any patriot vote for Rombama.

  • Eagle

I respect Dr. Pauls views, and agree with him on many points, but his insistance on trying to make any headway at this point in the campaign will only have negative effects on our efforts to get Obama out of the White House.
His influence is needed however, in moving this Country in the right direction, but after we have regained some sanity in our Government by putting The Romney-Ryan team in the White House.
Legalizing, controlling, and taxing prostitution and drugs would take a HUGE bite out of crime in the US, and make our country safer; but these are very bold ideas, and the public needs much more education on those issues before they can accept them.
His views on the FED are spot on, but the transition from the system that we have to what it should be, must also be done at a careful measured pace.
And bringing the majority of our troops home, is something that I certainly agree with. Our Military is sorely needed to assist in protecting our ports and borders, as they are in many other countries. Especially with the problems that we are faced with there.
But anyone who disregards their duty to preserve our Nation’s soveriegnity, just because Dr. Pauls delegates are not able to attend the Convention, doesn’t understand the gravity of the situation that our Country is in right now, and is acting in a childish manner.

    • pearl87

Dr. Paul’s supporters and those who REALLY DO love America and respect the Constitution will never vote for the RINO Romney. If our sovereignty means anything at all to you, realize it is safer to have the people awake to their danger, under Obama, than foolishly believing danger has passed, under Romney. Remember, Romney invented Obamacare, became the first Governor to MANDATE homosexual marriage in Mass. under an E.O., and supported abortion for his entire career. He also supported the bailouts and the NDAA. There is nothing safe or principled or conservative about Romney. He is worse than Obama, because he claims to be one of us, and, as such, he will covertly enact the liberal agenda.

I was raised with the understanding that fairness was the American way. Disenfranchising voters is not fair and it is unethical. Take the state of Florida for example; during the primary the GOP/RNC decided that because Florida changed it’s primary date that they would punish the state by making it a winner take all state. How is that for fair?

    • pearl87

      That was actually the DNC

    • 1_Eddie_1

Okay, I guess I stand corrected, but the question still remains: Is it fair?

    • pearl87

Democrats are never fair. Now we learn that RINOs aren’t fair either. Who’d have guessed?

    • 1_Eddie_1

You’re right, they gave us TARP and the NDAA also.

  • King

remember, the article is Mass RNC Decertifies 16 Ron Paul Delegates
Why would Ron Paul supporters be mad if their guy doesn’t have a shot? Seriously, I’m asking….I’m not flame throwing….I want to know why this would matter?

    • pearl87

It matters because the people have worked hard to have certain issues raised and heard at the convention. It is a negation of the rights of the voters and of their values and beliefs which deserve representation in the Republican party. Unless, of course, they no longer want us in the party, which is fine with me.

    • Doski

Why would be mad if I silenced your voice or stole you rights under false pretences ? Dem or Rep when you wilfully abuse others I will stand against you too .

  • Me UnhappyToo

I predict the unhappy people will get even one way or another. Cheers…

    • pearl87

      So we will.

    • Doski

May the cowards never sleep soundly again.

  • har82

The – only – thing this will do is p i s s of a he ll of a lot of people lol.

  • har82

Frankly, I stopped sending – any – money to the RNC . May as well send it to the democraps for all the difference there is lol. I don’t even consider myself a republican any longer. I quit when they nominated – mc cain – on a ticket.

    • pearl87

I want to give you ten thumbs up for that!

    • har82

Thanks Pearl, but I think we are in for some perilous times ahead. If this disease is not stopped , the future is going to be much different for our kids .

The GOP s a collection of ass holes if they alienate the Ron Paul contingent. If they have half a clue they will bend over backwards to welcome them on board. Paul could defeat Obozo much more easily then Mitt ever could. They will need the Paul supporters if they hope to win.

  • TNSue

Big mistake. I was ready to hold my nose and vote Romney but if he pulls this stunt,I will write in Ron Paul. Romney and the RNC would rather have obama re elected than to share power with everyday citizens. This is no better than obama and not the man I care to lead our Country.

    • Eagle

If you study the Constitution, you will know that the Congress has the real power in the Government, and if it consists of more Constitutionalists like Dr. Paul, people who will not shirk their duty, as has they have been doing for the past 100 years, this Country could be heading in the right direction much quicker than you think. We need Ron Paul’s influence in Congress much more than we need him in the White House, if this Nation is to be governed correctly.

  • Rocketman

Keep it up republican party! Your driving the Ron Paul republicans right into the Libertarian Party camp!
