Look At What Allen West Did To Tick Off The Black Caucus!

Rep. Allen West (R-FL) is someone I really like. I like that he says what he thinks and doesn't mind if it ticks off the left. Apparently he made a nice gesture of providing free food for the Black Caucus. Instead of the Black Caucus being thankful that someone else provided food for them, they were offended. Why? Because what Rep. West sent them were Chick-Fil-A biscuits!

Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-FL) said that it was a deliberate attempt to offend the members of the Congressional Black Caucus.

“We have a rotation in the Congressional Black Caucus where every member provides the lunch one of the weeks when we meet,” Hastings told Huffington Post on Monday.

“We have fried chicken. And we have catfish and BBQ. We do not have watermelon, although sometimes people will have fruit. We serve a full course meal with collard greens. We have Jamaican beans and rice,” he continued. “But West ”sent Chick-fil-A with biscuits. Ok?”

“That was an ‘in your face.’ Every member of the Congressional Black Caucus that was there was offended,” he added.

So let's get this straight (pun intended, since the controversy over Chick-Fil-A deals with homosexual 'marriage). Mr. Hastings and his Democrat colleagues are ok with chicken just as long as it isn't chicken from Chick-Fil-A. they are such thin skinned, little people that they could not respond graciously and thank Rep. West for providing such wonderful food for their meeting. No, they had to go and get their dander up about what brand of Chicken was provided.

The Huffington Post reports,

The Democratic lawmaker said West hasn’t been back to any CBC meetings since then.

A West spokeswoman did not respond to a request for comment. A spokeswoman for the CBC also did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Hastings and West represent adjacent districts in Florida. Hastings is in a solidly Democratic district, but West is running in a newly drawn district this year, the bulk of which President Barack Obama won in 2008. Despite the close proximity of their districts, Hastings said they never talk, not even in passing on Capitol Hill.

“He doesn’t speak to me by his own choosing,” Hastings said, taking issue with some of West’s harsh personal attacks on fellow Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D). Among other things, West last year called her “vile, despicable and cowardly” for challenging his views on Medicare during a House floor debate.”

“I wouldn’t want to go into his mental state,” Hastings added. “All I know is his verbiage and his rhetoric is way over the top. Way over the top.”

According to Yahoo News,

West spokeswoman Angela Melvin said his choice of Chick-fil-A "had nothing to do" with the company's values or stance on marriage.

"He loves Chick-fil-A," Melvin told ABC News. "Catered the event on something that was affordable and what average Americans eat. The fact that Mr. Hastings would turn this into anything else is laughable and desperate."

Melvin said West spent about $600 on the Chick-fil-A meal and that there was "not a plate left" by the end of the meeting.

So what does West have to say? In an interview in Chicago last, West told CNBC that he wanted to open up his own Chick-Fil-A franchise in Chicago. "I had to come up from down South because I wanted to try to open up a Chick-fil-A franchise here in Chicago," West said in an interview with CNBC's Rick Santelli.

While Santelli said that West was being "sarcastic" and doesn't really intend on opening a Chick-Fil-A, he also asked West if he thought it "a bit unusual" for a mayor, like Rahm Emanuel to block a business based on the beliefs of the owner.

West responded in typical fashion saying that he was not surprised at all by how "the other side" reacted.

"It doesn't when you understand the other side, the liberal side, because free speech is only free if you agree with what they say and what they believe," West said.

Now I ask you: West spent $600 on the Chick-Fil-A he gave to the Congressional Black Caucus and not a plate was left, does that sound like people were offended or enjoyed good food while trying to make a hypocritical political statement?

  5. Say, isn't this the Alcee Hastings that was impeached as a judge & removed from the bench? One cannot find one quote by Rep Lt Col Allen West that isn't dead center accurate & truthful. He is an outstanding American, a warrior of the highest order & will continue to grow in stature as a fighter for our Constitution!!!!

  6. hungry hypocrites

  7. If only it could be,"AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL!" An international society instead of all of these hate groups, white black, whatever color.
What ever happened to,"common sense", love thy neighbor, treat each other as you would want to be treated, a handshake is my word of honor!
    1. Vote out all of those liberals that are destroying our true values.
    2. Stop sending billions of $$$$ to country's that despise us.
    3. Stop anyone trying to change our constitution or reword it because they think it is outdated!!!!
I pledge allegience to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for ALL!
Where did it all change- It states, pledge allegience to the FLAG not the idiot President we now have in OUR most prestigious office. We the people let it happen- got lazy- We let our government get too big

  8. Allen West should run for President in 2016. He would get my vote.

  9. USMC and America proud! says:

Now let me get this ah...straight;)
The 'black caucus' was offended by West's provision of Chic-Fil-A sandwichs due to the CEO's stance on Biblical marriage?
These people are supposed to represent 'all' blacks? Hmmmm…
Did I not just read about how many black congregations and their pastors are going against Obama BECAUSE of the administration's support of gay marriage, which they see as detrimental to the family values of America? Sounds like the 'caucus' is a little out of touch with their supposed base!
Look again at the crowds at the support for Chic-fil-a and see if they're all white? No?
Maybe it's finally time for blacks to leave the now totally communist democratic plantation, STOP being 'black' and start being what they should be……Americans like the rest of us! I don't concider myself white! When I have a piece of tissue paper held up next to me I'm no where NEAR white! Why be a color at all? There's only ONE color God recognizes! Do you know what it is??

  10. They were "offended" but they chowed it down! Just goes to show you what hypocrites they are!

  11. Jack Parker says:

It's about time someone got in your (lying, racist, anti American) face.

  12. Rep.Allen West is a true American Hero, unlike the other so called black causas members who has done nothing except talk ,West has proven what he is.May God Bless Rep. West and his Family, and may God Bless America.

  13. Wayne Ogilvy says:

So does this mean the black caucus are in bed with the gay's ? Allen West is # 1 a Patriot to The United States Of America ! This man I would be proud to have as my friend and neighbor. Too bad there are not about 300,000,000 more like him.

  14. ROBERT WAYNE says:

I've always thought those black caucus goons were pretty light in the loafers. They proved what they really are by being sooooooo offended by Rep. West catering their little meeting with Chick Fil A biscuits. As for Allen West....good for him. It's good to see a politician out there who's conservative and not afraid to tell it like it is. I kind of wish it was him running against Ocrappo instead of Romney. The Kenyan imposter insults, lies and ridicules Romney and Romney is a pansy who won't fight back in the least. Sounds like West would give that stinking communist what for if he were running against him though.

  15. Don't forget that the "offended" party, Alcee Hastings, is the liberal slug who famously said when asked about the legality of the process used to pass ObamaCare, "Rules? What rules? We make it up as we go!"

    And indeed they have.
