DNC Shuts Down Local Small Businesses

The Democrat National Convention rolls into Charlotte soon and guess what they are hindering? Businesses. While Barack Obama claims that business owners didn’t build their own businesses all by themselves, one thing is for sure he certainly can help them lose money.

In Charlotte, because of the Secret Service many big and small businesses are trying to determine what they will do.

Businesses like Bank of America, Duke Energy, and Wells Fargo plan to allow quite a bit of workers to work at home. Their buildings are right in the center of Charlotte and as such, close by to the Time Warner Cable Arena.

But what about small businesses? You know those businesses that Obama said didn’t get built by their owners?

Take Doug Bialy, for instance. Mr. Bialy owns D&D Flooring. His business sits in the shadow of the Bank of America building and though he will only see restrictions of the road he is on for about 2 days, it could cost him thousands of dollars. While he has had to submit a list of people allowed to be at the store, drive up customers and deliveries from FedEx and UPS are not authorized. Bialy says,

“We’ll lose another day of business in a slow economy, which we really can’t afford to do.”

He has asked to be reimbursed for lack of access, but he says the answer he’s received is….he hasn’t gotten one.

The “No Grease Barber Shop” in the Time Warner Cable Arena is not shutting down, even though they will have similar issues with restrictions. One of the barbers, Timothy Doe, said that he’s expecting some of the politicians to come in for haircuts just before television appearances.

Well don’t count on that. After all, we know that Barack Obama flies his barber into Washington from Chicago to cut his hair and the Congress has bailed out the Congressional barber shop in Washington so I’m guessing they’ll have their hair already done by the time they arrive in Charlotte.

Doe claim it won’t hurt them, but it will give them an advantage because they’ll be right in the center of things.

Johnny Burrito also will face a DNC dilemma, even though they are just outside the restriction zone. They pose the question to customers:

If we build burritos will you come? Will you be in the “Center City” and buying burritos / tamales, Tuesday Sep. 4- Friday, Sep 7?

Apparently most people won’t be. Owner Johnny Bitter isn’t sure that he’ll be open on those days.

Other businesses decided to not fight it and declare a vacation. Mail deliveries, FedEx, and UP all plan on operating on a normal schedule.

So, I listen to Charlotte, NC radio and this was touted as “good” for the community and businesses. But from what we are seeing here, it is the exact opposite of that and the elitest DNC like it just like that.

First of all – why is there a need to have a Democratic National Convention…..The DNC already knows who their candidateis. can a King be a candiate? They will spend millions of tax payer dollars hosting PAC’s in hospitality suites, and fancy dinners. Speeches will be made, and money will be spent…..and, in the end, what will they have King Obama!

I couldn’t agree with richcarro more if I tried shut the entire town down and they will have to go out of the city limits to buy anything and that will hurt them in their pockets.
These people are NOT gods they are just regular people with a lable on them so make it hard on them so they wouldn’t have anywhere to go for the anything they might need.

The Democrats seem to work really hard at fueling the anger of America. Do they not realize that not everyone is a Democrat? Do they not realize that everyone is NOT going to their convention?? Do they not realize that some people still have to make a living because they don’t want government handouts??? The Democrats are a bunch of arrogant, stubborn people. They stand in the way of the makers who support their takers. I really hope they get voted out of office!! Then, they might have something to complain about.

  Mr Obama is not a natural born citizen which he has publicly acknowledges due to his statements on his parentage. That requires one to be born in the country of parents (mother and father) who are citizens. Thus under the US Constitution he is not President – does not meet any of the conditions set forth in the first requirement of Artcle 2, Section 1, Paragraph 5. Even if born in Kenyan he may still have received citizenship via his mother. But regardless he is not President since his his father’s foreign citizenship precludes his being eligible to be President.

Wake up people! The Democrats don’t care one little bit about business unless the business is big enough to donate substantial amounts of money to further the democratic principles. In other words if you don’t play their game, don’t give them free money they just come and take it and collect taxes. Did you ever wonder why Democrats always raise taxes as because they never pay their taxes. Case in point when dirty diaper head Obama was putting his cabinet together over 80% of the people they put forward had IRS problems delinquent taxes unpaid taxes or just on the IRS shortlist for criminals.

  there were regulation in place, but the ones I am talking about are the regulations than forced bankers to give no-documentaion loans to folks that had no way of paying them back! and the greedy banks were able to give them ARM type loans by the rules set in place by democrats (rymes with rats) Frank and Dod, so that even IF, the folks that got these loans tried as hard as they could to pay them back, it was going to be harder and harder to do so. You have no idea what you are talking about, blind hatred for some reason or another has clouded you judgement or what amount of reason God has given to you, you need to do your homework before you put something up here for all the world to see.   CHP3, the bad real estate loans happened because DEMS took control of congress in 2006 and eased cedit restrictions. Actually, it had started in the 1990s when the Democrat congress including Barney Frank began making home purchasing by low income people easier. Fannie & Freddie were complicit in this scheme. Don’t just repeat the liberal lies. So that is how the entire deal went down. Got it. The DEMS have most of the blame for this fiasco.
