TSA: Unaware of Security Precautions & Allows No-Fly List to Obtain Pilot’s License

janet-1Previously it was reported that the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) had allowed twenty-five illegals to train at a flight school owned by an illegal alien. Of those twenty-five, six were actually able to get their pilot’s licenses. Now TSA is on the host seat again. Last week one of their officials testified that Americans who are on the no-fly list because they are allegedly linked to terrorism are still permitted by the U.S. government to attend flight school and receive a pilot’s license.

On July 18 in a hearing before the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Transportation Security, Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS) asked Kerwin Wilson, the general manager for General Aviation at TSA’s Office of Security Policy and Industry Engagement, “Would a U.S. citizen on a no-fly list be able to obtain flight training without undergoing a security threat assessment?”

“Mr. Thompson that is correct, but keep in mind the way the program is set up there is layered security put in place,” Wilson responded. “You’re right, initially a U.S. citizen who is on the no-fly list could commence flight training. But once the individual receives a flight certificate, an FAA certificate, that individual is bounced against various databases as well [and] perpetually vetted, meaning that individual is vetted once a day, once a week.”

The following day, Napolitano appeared before the House Judiciary Committee and was asked about Wilson’s testimony by Rep. Dan Lungren (R-CA). She claimed that TSA is not aware of all the security measures being taken, but “there are lots of different ways someone on the no-fly list would not be in the position to get a pilot’s license.”

Lungren then asked her, “Yesterday, we had testimony by a TSA representative in another subcommittee about the issue of pilot licensing or pilot lessons and the question of checking people before they are able to do that. And it was brought up by the representative of TSA that currently you do not match the list of those who want to apply for pilot lessons with the no-fly list, and that seemed to be incongruous that on the no-fly list I couldn’t get on a commercial aircraft carrier, an aircraft, but I could in fact go to a pilot training program and not be stopped from doing that because it’s not checked against that list.”

“Mr. Representative, let me take the opportunity to offer a classified briefing to you,” she answered. “The plain fact of the matter is there are lots of different ways someone on the no-fly list would not be in a position to get a pilot’s license. But I think I need to go into classified briefing.”

“Okay, I understand the classified – but the statement was made on the record yesterday that they’re not checked against the no-fly list, period, and that is disturbing if that is the case,” he replied.

Napolitano answered, “The TSA representative may not have been aware of all the other things that occur.”

So wait a second. These are the guys on the front line of alleged “security” and specifically “homeland security” and they are “not aware of all the security precautions” related to these types of things? I’m beginning to think, now more than ever, how much a waste and utter joke the TSA actually is.

In essence, what we are getting from the TSA is a sense that they have absolutely no idea of what they are doing. They are given tremendous resources, money and power and yet they demonstrate such incompetence as to not be able to deal with an issue that is part of the government’s own story as to how 9-11 happened. Not only did the training of illegals for pilot’s licenses take place and was discovered by local police, not the feds, but now TSA is telling us that people on their no-fly list can also obtain pilot’s licenses and theoretically do just what the government alleges happened on 9-11.

With friends like this, who needs enemies?

You want to get scared just before boarding your flights , Go to Heathrow Airport [ UK ]. There are always plenty of camel jockeys in their tent like clothes , with disgusting facial hair, kneeling in all corridors “praying” to their devil master. I always just do my confessions quietly to myself, and really pray hard , quietly, that these morons are not heading to my flight. The Brits are really stupid when it comes to be PC. Probably worse than our TSA.

Some has stated the TSA is a joke. In a movie the TSA would be a joke hiring sex perverts; but, in reality this government agency with their “does not make sense” operations is not a joke to the frail, handicap, and children. I am going to make a prediction: The future I bet will bring skin cancer with their x-rays. Remember Agent Orange did not cause any problems in the world of the government after the Vietnam War. As far as the pilot’s licence–no excuse for this. Isn’t this their real job?

      Traitors!

This story should make it clear to anyone with a brain, that the object of the TSA is NOT security, but the harassment and intimidation of law-abiding citizens.

  • billwhit1357

Both departments are terribly incompetent and should be overhauled or disbanded. Napalitano is one of the most enept people, along with each and every individual in this current Failed administration. Every TSA person I have seen, during my travels, look as though they live in a alley, sloppily dressed, hygene very questionable, and look and act as though they didn’t make it past the 7th grade! What a waste of taxpayer money! But I am confident that Romney will bring in decent people and change many things, once he beats the Moron in November.

Maybe they can fly janet and the rest of the poliicians around

AS much as any true patriot should despise the 4th Amendment abrogated TSA, we must also face facts. The TSA was started under a Republican presidency who had no forethought as to what it would become under a Democratic presidency. Bush’s first DHS head,Michael Chertoff, futher pushed the envelope by insisting that we need to have naked body scanners in airports – a company he later became a lobbyist for. Michael Chertoff has made millions from these scanners.
    http://www.wcvarones.com/2010/11/tsas-nude-scanners-former-homeland.html
Mitt Romney has made Michael Chertoff his Security Policy Advisor and this should tell everyone Romney’s intention of not only keeping the TSA and naked body scanners, but Chertoff has been pushing to expand both programs whithout Romney ever saying one word against it.
Be assured that if Romney gets elected, the TSA and naked body scanners will continue to be expanded and we will not even be able to walk down the street without their intrusion upon on killing our right of freedom of movement. You have been warned.

They are to busy looking in old lady diapers and frisking 3 year olds to worry about some muslum getting A pilots lisens. The TSA is A BIG JOKE

  • noelle2011

ABOLISH THE TSA AND DHS NOW AND GIVE THE AIRPORTS BACK THEIR RIGHT TO HAVE THEIR OWN SECURITY FORCES!

    • unwillingvictime

Exactly!! If they are no better than hiring someone for minimum wage. Why give them the appearance of being federal law enforcement when they are doing a lousier job than those who are paid less but do the job correctly? The fact of who is in charge of that department is scary enough, thank you very much! What inept leadership has brought us is NOTHING but making more poor!!

  • mudguy1

Also not mentioned the owner of the flight school in Boston is illegal and has no immigration papers. The INS is sure doing a good job!!!!!

  • Raymond

    Simple and effective:
Here is the solution to all the controversy over full body scanners.
Have a booth that you can step into that will not x-ray you,but will detonate any explosives you may have on your body. It would be a win-win for everyone and there would none of this garbage about racial profiling, and this method would eliminate a long and expensive trial.
    Justice would be swift.
This is so simple, it’s brilliant. I can see it now. You’re in the
airport and you hear a muffled explosion.
Shortly you hear an announcement over the PA system. Attention stand by passengers. We now have a seat available on flight 91.
Paging maintenance. Shop Vac needed in booth #5

    • unwillingvictime

It would be nice, but would never happen due to the administration would not want any of their relatives hurt! What kills me, pardon the pun, is that profiling is what has become a very important tool in solving crimes. Some bleeding heart would rather have his family literally go down in flames instead of offending the one most likely carrying the bomb because of his nationality/religious beliefs. Political correctness, the scourge of the twenty first century!

    • cama9

That’s a pretty violent solution, Raymond. And how will anyone know if there were really explosives on a person or it wasn’t just someone on whichever president’s kill list? The best way to stop the TSA is to abolish it. Have you or anyone else on this site looked into the platform of the 2 Republican candidates still in the race to vet which one will abolish the TSA? Let me do that for you: Romney hired Micheal ‘naked body scanner’ Chertoff to be his Security Advisor. Romney has no issue with the TSA which will be unionized within the next week or so. Ron Paul opposes the TSA because it abrogates our 4th Amendment and will abolish the TSA should he become President. TSARomney or Liberty? I think the choice is simple. If you want to live free, vote for Ron Paul!

    • pateboo

Great idea, except it would put the suicide bombers out of work. And then they wouldn’t get their 72 virgins or however many they think they’ll get. And then they’ll bring some group in saying it violates their rights.

  • rockyvnvmc

    Mind Boggling ! I have no words…

  • rsatl1955

Our Government hasn’t learned any lessons in this, have they? Our government just cant say no!!!!!! They had better wise up fast, them moron

    • RITA GAYLE

      RAYMOND, U R BRILLIANT !!!! I AGREE 101% !!!

  • Guest

Janet, you have lost control of your own agency. You have no idea what your own people know, and what they don’t know. The solution is clear : resign now, or We the People will rip you from that chair.

    • unwillingvictime

We the people can’t rip her from that chair until we get rid of the Traitor in Chief! Not letting him win a second term is not going to help. He needs to be proved ineligible to be in that office and all his actions, and I mean all, vacated. Any other way will take to long to recover from. How dare people allow him to flagrantly usurp our Constitution! Anything else will make us worse international laughing stocks than we are now! When Egypt notices long before the citizens here do, there is something really wrong.

Article: “TSA: Unaware of Security Precautions & Allows No-Fly List To Obtain Pilot’s License”

    Washington learned nothing from 9/11.

It’s obvious to me the TSA has bigger priorities than a ROGUE PILOT. . . like feeling up granny, making a 5 year old cry, identifying the weak and then preying on them, delaying citizens while illegals pass through no problem . . . this list could take hours .
