If you recall, back at the beginning of July I reported about U.S. Congressman Andre Carson calling for U.S. public schools to be modeled after the madrassa, a school or college that is a part of a mosque, and that the Koran be taught in the school system. Many of you were outraged that such a man would even be elected to the U.S. Congress. Yet he was and it seems that unless something happens, he will be re-elected.
While he has been brought under media scrutiny, not the main stream media mind you, for his comments it has not hampered his ability to collect money for his campaign. He is facing Republican challenger Carlos May in November.
May is the director of the Indianapolis Mayor’s Office for Latino Affairs. He has approximately $62,000 in his accounts, but his receipts have jumped up to $778,000.
WND reports on Carson’s finances:
Even with $531,000 in reported expenditures, Carson still has $490,000 in campaign cash remaining.
Other notable individuals who provided a financial boost to the 2008 Carson campaigns include former White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emmanuel, who donated $2,000 in May, and then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., who cut a $2,000 check that February.
The Council of American Islamic Relations California PAC is one of several non-industry groups that came forward to support Carson in 2008, giving him $5,000 in August. The Arab American Leadership Council PAC two months later provided him with $2,000.
Other group donors for 2008 included the NEA Fund for Children and Public Education ($10,000, followed by $4,000 in 2010, and $1,000 in 2011), NARAL Pro-Choice America PAC ($6,000), and Moveon.Org PAC ($5,000).
Unions such as American Federation of State County & Municipal Employees People have been even more generous, giving Carson $28,000 over the past five years. The American Federation of Teachers, AFL-CIO Committee on Political Education donated $27,500 during that time.
On top of this Kerry J. Forestal, has been giving incremental donations of $1,000 to Carson. He has not donated to any other federal election campaign but Mr. Carson’s. Why is this significant and who is Kerry J. Forestal? He is an 2010 Obama appointed U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of Indiana.
While he was pressed over his madrassa comments, he issued a press release stating that no “…particular faith should be the foundation of our public schools…” This is in clear contradiction to his previous statements.
Well we can expect this from a Muslim I presume, since they believe that Islam will take over the world and in advancing that belief they are permitted to ‘scheme’ and “deceive’. Their’s is a very optimistic worldview from their perspective. Many Christians in our society would do well to leave behind the “Left Behind” mindset and have a similar worldview with regards to Christianity. For the Scriptures declare we are not waiting on Jesus Christ to rule and reign for He is already doing so and placing His enemies beneath His feet. For the gospel we bear is powerful for the saving of men, yes even those of the Muslim religion. Speaking of the rule and conquering of Jesus Christ, the apostle Paul writes,
Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.
There is no need for us to fear Rep. Carson or Islam, but we must seek to oppose the rising tide of Islam in America and that begins where it rears its head.
