GOP Introduces ‘Repeal Of Obamacare Act’

022812-obamacare-lgLate Thursday evening House Republicans put forth a proposal to repeal the 2010 Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare. They argue that it has not only increased healthcare costs and put Americans at risk of losing coverage, but also that it is dragging the economy down.

The Repeal of Obamacare Act is the GOP’s response to the recent ruling by the Supreme Court of the Constitutionality of Obamacare under the authority of the Congress to tax.

The new bill cites the following ten findings concerning Obamacare:

(1) President Obama promised the American people that if they liked their current health coverage, they could keep it. But even the Obama Administration admits that tens of millions of Americans are at risk of losing their health care coverage, including as many as 8 in 10 plans offered by small businesses.

(2) Despite projected spending of more than two trillion dollars over the next 10 years, cutting Medicare by more than one-half trillion dollars over
that period, and increasing taxes by over $800 billion dollars over that period, the law does not lower health care costs.

(3) The law cuts more than one-half trillion dollars in Medicare and uses the funds to create a new entitlement program rather than to protect and strengthen the Medicare program.

(4) The law creates a 15-member, unelected Independent Payment Advisory Board that is empowered to make binding decisions regarding what treatments Medicare will cover and how much Medicare will pay for treatments solely to cut spending, restricting access to health care for seniors.

(5) The law and the more than 13,000 pages of related regulations issued before July 11, 2012, are causing great uncertainty, slowing economic growth, and limiting hiring opportunities for the approximately 13 million Americans searching for work.

(6) The law imposes 21 new or higher taxes on American families and businesses, including taxes on families making less than $250,000 a year.

(7) While President Obama promised that nothing in the law would fund elective abortion, the law expands the role of the Federal Government in funding and facilitating abortion and plans that cover abortion. The law appropriates billions of dollars in new funding without explicitly prohibiting the use of these funds for abortion, and it provides Federal subsidies for health plans covering elective abortions.

(8) By creating new barriers to health insurance and causing the loss of existing insurance arrangements, these inflexible mandates jeopardize the ability of institutions and individuals to exercise their rights of conscience and their ability to freely participate in the health insurance and health care marketplace.

(9) The law expands government control over health care, adds trillions of dollars to existing liabilities, drives costs up even further, and too often put Federal bureaucrats, instead of doctors and patients, in charge of health care decisionmaking.

(10) The path to patient-centered care and lower costs for all Americans must begin with a full repeal of the law.

The House expects to vote on the bill on Wednesday, July 11. While the text has been made available since Thursday, Republicans will meet Monday evening in order to approve a rule for the bill. This “emergency meeting” will be taking place because the bill will be officially introduced on Monday.

Though it is expected to pass overwhelmingly in the House, it is also expected to die in the Democrat controlled Senate.

Yes, prayers to our Lord Jesus and a firm committment to defend this nation against a misguided and anti-clerical executive branch of government that flouts the ten commandments and any sense of the natural law are definitely in order. The basic philosophical tenet that you cannot attain a good end by implementing an evil means certainly applies to this HHS mandate and health coverage. Can any of us accept even the best and most affordable health care plan while we are forced to condone the death of our unborn brothers and sisters through funding for planned parenthood and abortiofacents, the distribution of contraceptives to our youth, the advocacy of calling homosexual relations a basic human right and the subversive tactics of supressing our religious convictions when they are brought into the public square? I think not. Let us do ourselves a big favor and simply push the lever on November 4th for Mitt Romney!

As an American citizen, I am very concerned not just about Obamacare but about whether any election will remove Obama from office. I say that because I have in my possession (it came off the Internet) an early article after Obama became president. It says he told an Egyptian official while visiting that he is an Moslem. Now anyone who has some knowledge should know when Moslems gain any kind of territory, they will fight to keep it. If they lose it, they will fight to regain that territory. That is why I am concerned about the White House started by our forefathers here in America. Will he try to stay in the White House even if he may not be elected? Dolores

We’re not Britain, we’re not Canada, we’re not France, and we’re not any
other European country. We’re the United States of America—-the good
ole US OF A! WE DON’T NEED NO STIKIN’ SOCIALIZED MEDICINE!
      ADOPT THE CHILEAN MODEL! OLE`!

  • Joanne

This has nothing to do with healthcare, it’s mostly for more control over Americans and in doing so, redistributing the wealth. Eventually OBAMA wants single payer system, universal healthcare so we can be a socialist country. Why would anyone who loved this country have the IRS involved and a panel deciding eligibility for each patient for healthcare.

We all need to use the power of prayer and yes pray that we may receive devine assistance with removing the evil from our government but this alone will not happen. God also gives us the power to reason and know right from wrong, make decisions for ourselves and HE empowers us to make those decisions for change.
IT is not about Christianity, being rich or poor, or what we have or don’t have; it is about being Americans and true to our country by not letting other foreign powers enter and control our Government. We all have the right to choose right now but after the election that may change, we may lose our liberties we have enjoyed for so long.
With God’s help all we can do is use the resources we have at hand at this moment and do our research, not believe what you hear in the press but actually research our lawmakers and vote them in and out of office according to their performance. Much like how our employer does us. WE employ all these folks making the rules for us so why are we standing by and letting this happen to ourselves.
Everyone, look at the big picture and vote to remove the evil from our government, Impeach the liars and make an example out of the thieves. The government doesn’ t pay for anything. The entitlement programs aren’t paid for by the government, WE ARE THE ONES PAYING FOR EVERYTHING! Where in the world do people think the money comes from. Start educating yourselves to see what is really going on in the country we know about and know there is much more going on that we do not know about.
Use your vote as your Sword and your faith as your armor!

Love your comment and agree 100%. If everyone does as you suggest, we will be showered with grace and healed. Bless you and yours, Casper

The bill will indeed die in the senate by getting tabled and junked. The Dummycrats could care less about their own constituents and they never found a tax they didn’t like. Their ardent brain dead supporters will go along being the sheeple that they are. The best way to get rid of Obamacare is get rid of Obama. He’s commited enough crimes under the articles of impeachment but again there would be no go along chickensh*t Dummycrats for support,so that effort would die also. Never in history has such a bad POTUS have so much ironclad protection as Oboy. But…the voters wanted hope and change and they got it alright. Higher taxes, higher energy costs, lost homes, higher cost of living, tons of new regulations, and a black hole of government debt, so everybody could live like Californians already do in their socialist republic. Everybody always dreamed of moving to California now they are either stuck or moving back out as fast as they went in. For business people especially, the taxes are killing them. Those businesses remaining there have to gouge with high prices to survive at all. That’s why I got out and came next door to Nevada and doing quite well. Those that aren’t are devotees of Harry Reid.

Every decent, freedom-loving, God-fearing and Constitution-abiding United States citizen residing in the State of Nevada MUST pressure Harry Reid so hard that just the sound of a ringing phone makes him uncomfortable. If Reid wants to keep legislation off the floor in the Senate WE can make sure he’s in dire fear for his senate seat.

Most of your facts are wrong or misleading. I feel the pain of the tanning salons. Over 250k pay .9% Medicare. The horror. Many others are taxes on specific small items. Not affecting you guys to any extent. 1/2 trillion includes cutting subsides for Medicare Advantage…I thought you hated subsidies and reduced payments to hospitals that they agreed to due to expanded patient base. There are no cuts to Medicaire beneficiaries. Death panels are studying medical efficiencies. US in many studies ranks lover in all ratings compared to countries that have introduced medical efficiencies. If you set up exchanges and there is a mandate, insurance will be available to everyone, at a cost not to exceed 9.25% of their income. People below poverty level qualify for Medicaid. Yes it is government regulation which you hate. Go ahead. You can’t repeal without controlling the Senate. LOL.

  • sean murry

The commie senate will kill this bill.

Americans: Don’t forget to get the light of day to expose ALL the intrusions of the vile obummercaretax into innumerable areas OTHER than healthcare. To list a few: control of Student Loans, Taxes on sale of your house, income from bank interest and dividends for families making $ 250K or more, permanent change of countless IRS laws, undefined and limitless powers to HHS Secretary. BTW, $ 250K family income is hardly “rich”. obummercaretax is actually a pandemic disease that feeds on the economy of Amerca !
