FEDS Would Think Founding Fathers Were Terrorists

founding-fathersSo you are a lover of liberty and you are also a possible terrorist according to the Department of Homeland Security. DHS has released a document that was prepared to give the locations and causes of domestic terrorism and in doing so they have labeled every freedom loving American as a potential terrorist.

The Report was put together by The National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START). According to the document they are “tasked by the Department of Homeland Security’s Science and Technology Directorate with using state-of-the-art theories, methods, and data from the social and behavioral sciences to improve understanding of the origins, dynamics, and social and psychological impacts of terrorism.”

The document claims that “More than 2,600 terrorist events occurred in the United States between 1970 and 2008.”

It does mention, “The importance of understanding terrorism in the United States assumed heightened prominence in the wake of 9-11,” and yet says, “surprisingly little is known about general patterns of terrorist attacks in the United States, including where attacks are most likely to occur.” I would venture to guess that the WTC was attacked on several occasions. I would also venture to guess that the same major cities in the U.S. are the same ones over and over that are the main targets. On top of this, in many cases chatter and other information has crossed the desks of those with the responsibility to protect from such attacks and they did nothing. September 11 is a perfect example of looking back and seeing they had all the data necessary to catch the evildoers, but did not. In fact, many of those here should have been deported under law for expired visas.

The “hot spots” for terrorism, according to the report, identified 65 counties, out of a possible 3,143 counties in the U.S. Fortunately for me, my county was not identified.

What is most curious is who is being defined as a terrorist. Many of the founding fathers would fall right into this definition. They are those that are “extreme right-wing” or those who are “suspicious of centralized federal authority” or even those “reverent of individual liberty.”

So just how does DHS define an “extreme right-wing” person as a potential terrorist?

Extreme Right-Wing: groups that believe that one’s personal and/or national “way of life” is under attack and is either already lost or that the threat is imminent (for some the threat is from a specific ethnic, racial, or religious group), and believe in the need to be prepared for an attack either by participating in paramilitary preparations and training or survivalism. Groups may also be fiercely nationalistic (as opposed to universal and international in orientation), anti-global, suspicious of centralized federal authority, reverent of individual liberty, and believe in conspiracy theories that involve grave threat to national sovereignty and/or personal liberty.”

Ok, from what I’ve read in many of the comments section all of the readers of this site would be considered a potential terrorist along with this author. I have absolutely no intention of doing anything remotely close to terrorism and yet this document claims that because of things I firmly believe in, DHS says I am in essence a possible terrorist, which actually questions my patriotism. Frankly there are more patriots that will read this article than there are working in the entire Obama administration.

The document also identifies religion as a possible culprit.

Religious: groups that seek to smite the purported enemies of God and other evildoers, impose strict religious tenets or laws on society (fundamentalists), forcibly insert religion into the political sphere (e.g., those who seek to politicize religion, such as Christian Reconstructionists and Islamists), and/or bring about Armageddon (apocalyptic millenarian cults; 2010: 17). For example, Jewish Direct Action, Mormon extremist, Jamaat-al-Fuqra, and Covenant, Sword and the Arm of the Lord (CSA) are included in this category.

Well Islamists don’t even need anything said here because the attacks we know of have been, for the most part, Muslims. While I realize there are extremists in all sorts of false religions, I don’t recall Mormons flying planes into buildings. I know Christian Reconstructionists do believe in being politically active simply because of the belief that the gospel of Jesus Christ is to be brought to bear on any place that needs redemption from sin and both government and politics are areas filled with sin that need to be dealt with. However, to engage in terrorism to advance that ideology would be to deny the very principles of the Lord Jesus.

What I find very curious in the religious section is the brief mention above of Islamists. Seems to be they are the prime culprits in what has been labeled terrorism. In fact, I think the term terrorism doesn’t seem to imply very much. They are simply murderers, evil doers, or those that destroy property and should be treated as such. “Terrorism” has become sort of a open ended term and is really no longer useful.

Left wingers aren’t left out of the equation either. The document claims:

Extreme Left-Wing: groups that want to bring about change through violent revolution rather than through established political processes. This category also includes secular left-wing groups that rely heavily on terrorism to overthrow the capitalist system and either establish “a dictatorship of the proletariat” (Marxist-Leninists) or, much more rarely, a decentralized, non-hierarchical political system (anarchists).

The thing about government operating in the way this document says it is results in government thinking they can stop anything bad from happening to people and sadly many people think that is their job. This is the result when men will not seek God as their God, but inevitably government will look to become a god to the people and when that occurs, the result is tyranny, not blessing. This is not only the case when it comes to terrorism, but in what you eat, what kind of political speech you listen to, what kind of political speech you have, and a whole host of issues. We have been seeing tyranny implemented for years with TSA, the Patriot Act, government sponsored torture, the violation of virtually all of the Bill of Rights and most recently to ruling by the Supreme Court on Obamacare.

The fact that those who were our founding fathers would have been classified as terrorists, as the current administration does, should give one cause for alarm, especially in light of a FEMA training session video (below) where the founding fathers and Christians are blatantly labeled as terrorists.

Wow, the extreme left wing sounds just like Obama.

  • Blair

Samuel Adams was a terrorist. Terrorism doesn’t necessarily mean blowing up
buildings. It can be offering material support, it could be financing the activity.
John Hancock was the Financier of the Revolution.

After looking at the report referenced in this article (Hot Spots of Terrorism and Other Crimes in the United States, 1970 to 2008) I have come to several conclusions: First, that the government has more to worry about from Left Wing Extremists and Islamic Fundamentalists than from any Right Wing organization due to the number of and lethality of attacks. Two, that they do not adequately address their classification between what attacks are actually criminal acts which are personally motivated vs attacks which are directed against a larger group or organization, for example a criminal act directed against a government agency or person for personal reasons (such as the guy who flew a cessna into a government building because of his personal tax issues [would fall into more of a criminal act reather than a terrorist act]) as opposed to an act of terrorism directed against an abortion clinic because of religious or idealogical reasons. Both are criminal acts and both could be terrorist acts, but what is the motivation and were the actors committing these acts for personal reasons or as part of a larger think group? Third, that there are some obvious flaws in their data classification, one such example is that one of their tables showing terrorist attacks by decade and because of religious or idealogical views (Table 4) failed to list the Islamic Fundamentalist attack on the World Trade Center in 1993 (underground parking garage bombing). Also, I think that the authors’ attempts to correlate terrorist attacks by county is misguided at best. In other words, a criminal or terrorist probably would not carry out the attack anywhere remotely close to where he lays his head or where he has family. He is going to travel long distances, carry out the attack and retreat to a safe haven, such as what Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols did in April 1995 with the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City or the attacks of the “Uni-Bomber” who also traveled a good distance from his safe haven in the highlands of the Carolinas. So they should have also looked at the origin of the terrorists which may have indicated more ‘counties’ have a tie to these sort of attacks. So the analysis is slightly flawed and further if you look at the disclaimer, they state that the views expressed in the report are the views of the Authors and not those of the DHS. Additionally, this research and analysis were conducted mostly by University Professors (typically liberal in ideology) and therefore biased. I would not put much weight in the validity of such a report.

Lable me if you must, but I still believe in the US constitution and will fight for it. There are alot of other socialist and marxist countries out there. Pick one and haul your ass if thats what your about.

  • GDC97

We have SERIOUS problems in this country and that requires SERIOUS solutions. The FASCIST, SOCIALIST, MARXIST, COMMUNISTS in this country MUST be EXECUTED for TREASON!!! That means ALL of them.

  • TheSunDidIt

Regarding the title, to the British, the founders WERE terrorists. Didn’t stop the revolution and it didn’t stop their victory. Know what made it possible? God Almighty. NO other group that resisted Britain was successful militarily except the US. Others wore them down in endless struggles that the British finally gave up on. But, only the Americans defeated them face to face in battle.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Reinhard-Schumann/644757548 Reinhard Schumann

Anybody who takes up arms against the established order will be seen by the latter as a terrorist. I am certain that’s how the British saw our Founding Fathers. Any American who takes up arms against the elected American Government will of course be seen as a terrorist and there have already been a few cases. In a country of law, which we certainly are, there are other means to rein government in if it oversteps its bounds. That too has happened more than once. Anybody who preaches armed resistance is a terrorist – even if they call themselves Patriots.

  • R.Young

Yes our Founding Fathers were terrorists; so is the Republican Political Party; the TEA PARTY, both Bushes, the entire U.S. MILITARY, RETIRED MILITARY, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Leigon, the NRA, the Oath Keepers, the Patriot Guard Riders, etc.? This Country for the last 236 years has been producing nothing but Terrorists? To the Government; Congress, the House of Representatives the Supreme Court, the Dept. of Homeland Security and the TSA, “Trust No One, Suspect Everyone, Were out to Get YA SUCKERS”!

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Reinhard-Schumann/644757548 Reinhard Schumann

Get real! The Founding Fathers were terrorists as far as the British were concerned. Americans today are terrorists if they take up arms against their own government. And then the government may have to use the Army to fight them.

    • TheSunDidIt

Consider this, the Army will not necessarily take up arms against the citizens. You forget one thing. THAT in itself is illegal; convenient but, illegal.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Reinhard-Schumann/644757548 Reinhard Schumann

You are right, it is illegal.
Unless the President orders up the National Guard to quell race riots. But to follow the reasoning of this article and many of the Posts, people assume that President Obama would do such a thing.

    • Sol of Texas

      He would!

    • R.Young

Herr Schumann the current Regime in power today considers any and all people and organizations who stand for Truth, Justice and the American Way a “Home Grown “TERRORIST”! If you are not in 10% agreement with the Regime then you too are a Terrorist! I know for sure with 100% certinaty I an one at least one of their “Home Grown Terrorist Lists”. I am Retired Military, a Registered Republican, a supported of the TEA Party and an Oath Keeper, I swore tha Oath in 1966 and stand by it to day! U.S.A.F. Ret!

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Reinhard-Schumann/644757548 Reinhard Schumann

Just in case you are confused, I retired from the US Army as a LTC, am not affiliated with any political party though now leaning more to the Democratic Party after the Republicans left me when they move too far to the Right. I too swore an oath on the Constitution and have no intention of breaking it. But that does not mean I have to stop thinking. And my intellect tells me that we no longer live in the 19th Century and that the challenges of the globalized world of the 21st Century require new solutions. What worked in the 19th Century when we expanded ever more at the expense of the Native Americans and in the process pushed the French and Spanish out of the way is no longer a viable solution to our problems.

    • R.Young

When I said I am a Rebublican, I am ony registered as a Republican. Yes there are many options and insurrection should only be considered as a totally “Last” resort! With the dumbing down of the generations who came after us (you and I) there are too many that cannot see or believe in the other options! Too many who would feel that with the corruption in Washington that the other options would either not work or be a waste of their time and energy!
      R.Young U.S.A.F. Ret. Msgt.

    • THEyardpilot

The Republican party has steadily moved to the left. The democratic party is clear off the scale.

  • Robert

If the founding fathers had to deal with the politicians we have now they would all have been arrested and executed as traitors and extremists. Although it would probably be totally comfortable with King George or even going back a little while before that the Spanish Inquisition. Another person who comments on a regular basis” Raymond” would never of been able to be the Marine he was. They never would’ve attacked the Moslem pirates of Tripoli.
I can really not understand why people in the mainstream press find it necessary to support Dirty Diaper Head Obama when it is obvious that one of his goals is to eliminate or to totally nullify the Constitution and Bill of Rights. They must realize that there First Amendment rights will be the second that Obama and his radicals will illuminate they will be adequate job and more than likely put into concentration camps where they’ll probably be called reeducation camps. It is beyond me how America such a short period of time can become so stupid and helpless. It’s obvious the young generation has absolutely no pride in themselves ,and their country, and everything it stands for. Our public schools have done an admirable job of indoctrinating two generations into a bunch of sniveling do nothings and expect everything to be done for them just because they take up space. If the older generation does not step up and pick up the slack America is going to find itself nonexistent. T

The Potential Terrorists are known as the Democratic party and the terrorist leaders are all in Washington DC and the State Capitols. These are the real Terrorist’s that believe in Marxism in Socialism and Atheism. The sitting President of the United States is the same as Osama Bin Laden and wants to destroy all of his opponents at any cost and he is asking all of the poor to support him in his Ly’s and as the people in the Middle East took up arms for Bin Laden the SOB Barrack Obama is asking people in the United States to take up arms and defend him and like in the Middle East the people are being fooled and lied to because he has no intentions to honor his promises. You would think that the people that fell for his promises in his first term would have learned a lesson but I guess the people in the United States that are supporting the SOB Barrack Obama exactly the way he wants them to. There are more stupid people than I could have ever imagined would be here in the USA because they have fallen into his trap and will be very disappointed in jest a few months when again he will not deliver on his promises “again”.

There is a Muslim who gets into in a Taxi……….

He asks the Taxi Driver to turn off the radio because he must not hear music
As decreed by his Religion and, in the time of the Prophet, there was no Music, no
    Radio…….

So the Taxi Driver turns off the Radio, stops the car and opens the back door.

The Muslim asks him: what are you doing?

    The Taxi Driver answers:

So in the time of the Prophet there were no Taxis.

Get out and wait for a Camel.

    • Amy

      That’s awesome……..

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Reinhard-Schumann/644757548 Reinhard Schumann

Cute joke but not a fact. Music is very much part of Islam.

    • TheSunDidIt

Then, fill in the blank. Muslims constantly claim some special privilage because “it’s not our faith/code/belief”. The fact is, they wouldn’t have ANYTHING modern if not for the industrial revolution of North America and Europe. Same goes for the Cinese and all the others. Even the Russians didn’t have an industrial revolution. If they had, they might not have had a real revolution.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Reinhard-Schumann/644757548 Reinhard Schumann

Right you are! But we should still stick to the facts! That too is a Western invention.

  • Blair

Technically, the Founding Fathers were terrorists, and King George III, said that
the Minutemen, who were the militiamen who fought at Lexington and Concord,
were terrorists, technically speaking. So what would the Sons of Liberty be considered? A terrorist organization. John Hancock, who was the first to sign
the Declaration of Independence, Benjamin Franklin, Caesar Rodney, and Charles Carroll, of Carrollton, (there are several states, including Georgia and New Hampshire), have counties named after him. John Hancock was the financier of the Revolution, that doesn’t make him Osama bin Laden.

    • PepperdotNet

Sure, they were terrorists, as defined by the government then in power. As are we all, according to the one now in power.

    • Blair

I was speaking historically here. The Sons of Liberty was a terrorist
organization. Ever here of Fort William and Mary? Lemme ‘splain
it to ya. Most people think of what, when they hear the name Paul
Revere? His Midnight Ride in April 1775. They don’t know that he
was one of THREE riders. Paul Revere was also the only one whodidn’t complete his ride. He was captured by the British and released. Four months earlier, in December 1774, Paul Revere,
at the request of the New Hampshire Committee of Safety, rode to Portsmouth, New Hampshire, then the capital of New Hampshire, to warn them that the British were going to take their muskets away.
Why? It was a perfect form of gun control. The muskets, powder,
and ball, were held at the fort. They were given out to people for
two purposes: Defense and hunting. The citizens of Portsmouth heard that the British were going to take the muskets, powder, and ball, away from them. What happened? In the middle of a snowstorm, four hundred of the strongest men in Portsmouth, raided Fort William and Mary, put the powder on gundalows,
and brought to the powder house in Exeter, New Hampshire.
Legend has it that the gunpowder taken from Fort William and
Mary, was used in the Revolutionary War, but it can’t be either
      confirmed, or denied.
