In the Preamble to the U.S. Constitution the Founders wrote, “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.” Barack Obama doesn’t see it that way.
“And I confess the progress didn’t come quickly, and it did not come easily,” Obama said to the Urban League on Wednesday about his time as a community organizer in Chicago. “Sometimes it didn’t come at all. There were times where I thought about giving up and moving on. But what kept me going day in and day out was the same thing that has sustained the Urban League all these years. The same thing that sustains all of you. And that is the belief that in America, change is always possible. That our union may not be perfect, but it is perfectible.”
“That we can strive over time, through effort and sweat and blood and tears until it is the place we imagine. It may come in fits and starts, at a pace that can be slow and frustrating, but if we are willing to push through all the doubt and the cynicism and the weariness, then yes, we can form that more perfect union.
Obama doesn’t believe America can have a perfect union, even though in 2008 that was the title of his speech. In that speech he wanted people to believe that he knew nothing of Jeremiah Wright’s views of whites and blacks. He claimed, “But the remarks that have caused this recent firestorm weren’t simply controversial. They weren’t simply a religious leader’s effort to speak out against perceived injustice. Instead, they expressed a profoundly distorted view of this country — a view that sees white racism as endemic, and that elevates what is wrong with America above all that we know is right with America.” This is in direct contrast to how he has conducted himself in the past and in a direct contradiction to his latest Executive Order.
In Wednesday’s speech he claimed the union may not be perfect, but it is perfectible. What he means is it is changeable. That is the very thing he ran on in 2008. The question comes up over and over: “How’s that hope and change working out for you?” I’ll ask it another way, very similar to Ronald Reagan, “Are you better off now than you were $5 Trillion ago?” Opps, my bad. Are you better off now than you were four years ago?
While claiming that sometimes progress didn’t come at all is simply a lie at least how we would understand it. For Marxists like Barack Obama, he has progressed forward with his agenda in the White House pushing through a massive Tax mandate on every American, increasing unemployment, pushing people to be dependent upon government, degrading business owners, dividing the nation by ethnicity and class, bowing down to other nations and running around the world apologizing, trying to sneak attack our Second Amendment rights, assassinating teen age kids in third world countries and even American citizens without trial. Yes This President has demonstrated what his view of a ‘perfectible union’ would be and that is when everyone is singing his praises and every mouth of dissent is silenced….permanently.
Obama doesn’t want a perfect union. He wants perfect division.
